Women and anyone with a cervix

Women and anyone with a cervix is written in my weekly magazine. What absolute rubbish is this? It gives me the rage.

OP posts:

There is no magazine. Y'all fall for this sort of inflammatory OP every time.

DotAndCarryOne2 · 23/01/2026 13:59

TheKeatingFive · 23/01/2026 13:47

Thanks. I do believe that some men and women were born into a body that they just do not belong in

What does that even mean? What happened? Where is the body they do belong in?

Hasn’t the ‘wrong body’ theory been discredited ?

This phrase is commonplace.

BBC 3 days ago: Cervical screenings are offered every five years to women and people with a cervix.

So if these people were “born in the wrong body” then that is for them to get help with. It does not mean they get to claim to be the opposite sex or demand others go along with their delusions. Would you go along with an anorexic saying they were fat?

I think it is a simple question of tolerance. Gender dysphoria is a recognised condition. Within the boundaries I have set out, I will accommodate trans-people as much as I can.

I don't think it's helpful to anyone to misrepresent reality in the name of 'tolerance'.

So is anorexia. Do you accommodate anorexic people?

Transgender people and transactivists often disagree with it being a medical condition. They used pressure to get it removed from the list of recognised medical conditions (I forget what the list is called).

Tadpolesinponds · 23/01/2026 15:04

Imagine Slimming World or whatever changing their advertising:
"Join our I Need to Lose Weight Club and lose kilos every month. People with anorexia are especially welcome. We agree that you're too fat and we'll do everything we can to help you to achieve your weight loss goals."

Because everyone is 'biological' apparently.
(Yup, literally, a real conversation I had with someone once 🤯)

Fucking ridiculous. Women as ever have to accommodate everyone else's delusions.

I firmly believe 'biological women' would cover it.

Shedmistress · 23/01/2026 15:18

Aluna · 23/01/2026 13:33

Native American tribes have a long history of formally acknowledging gender non-conformity. Bearing in mind Native American history stretches back 30,000 years.

Tribes such as the Lakota, Navajo, Crow etc have different names and concepts of gender non-conformist roles. The Paiutes had “Tudayapwhich referred to people who dressed like the other sex. The “Winkte” in the Lakota tribe were men who “want to be like women”.

This has been hijacked by the trans community as “two spirit” concept which is modern, spurious & “Pretendian” imo.

That is called 'cultural appropriation' and it is not evidence of cavemen being 'trans'.

Do better.

Just women covered it for years - since language evolved they knew who the women were.

Mumsnet is obviously TERF central which is fine, to each their own. This doesn’t offend me because I realise trans men exist. It’s inclusive because it means they won’t think whatever the medical advice is doesn’t count for them now they’re men. If they still have a cervix, they need smears for example.

This is not very articulate.

The hijacking of cultural practice for a contemporary agenda is cultural appropriation.

The history of Native American tribes and their cultures is simply history.

The practice of gender non-conformity in history is not limited to Turtle Island in any case.

No one is saying that Trans men don't exist!

We are just saying they are women, which they have to be in order to be trans men!

What I find alarming is this thought that women who identify as trans men think that they have somehow changed sex! How ridiculous. If you are right and this is happening then a lot of responsibility lies on trans activists/ charities for not making it clear that no one literally changes sex. Men who identify as trans women still need prostate exams. Women who identify as trans men still need smear tests.

It's absolutely insane to suggest that people do not KNOW this.

Pandering to ideological delusions harms women. It has directly led to the erosion of single sex spaces and harms to young women who want to opt out of woman hood because some how it is now seen as progressive to adhere to sexist stereotypes of how men and women should act and behave.

No thank you.

justpassmethemouse · 23/01/2026 15:41

This again? I actually thought I was clicking on a thread with some actual information on smears or the like.

Wouldn’t it be a better use of our time to discuss the implications of at-home smear tests or the potential reduction to once every 5 years, than a random use of inclusive language?

Trans men know they are women. We really need to stop lying to these women.

Not one person on the planet has ever changed sex. This is utter insanity.

I know that gender non conformity is not limited to blah blah blah. I am gender non conforming and have been for my whole life, since the early 70s.

You said there had been trans people since the dawn of humanity. So show some evidence of your claims.

But it is exclusive language. It’s saying that only females are women and excluding non cis men who believe they are women. I mean, no male has a cervix so by default this language excludes “transwomen”.

I have never said anything of the sort. You have completely misunderstood my posts.

Please quote where I have said this:

I would not see transgender people as being ill. Trans people exist. I accept this and get on with life.

So if they are not ill why do they need medical intervention?

Gender non conforming people exist, agreed.

However, I don't understand why, because of this, you would pretend that men can have cervixes.

It is quite possible that a trans man might have retained a cervix. The numbers of course are very small, but I am happy with wording that says women (the vast vast majority) and anyone else with a cervix and then goes on to topic.
