Duncan Bannatyne says some men who use women only spaces are perverts

I think he's wrong.

I think any man who uses a woman only space (outside of the janitor/cleaners when there are no women present) is a pervert as soon as he crosses the threshold

I think it’s clear enough now that biological males should not be using spaces that are for the privacy and dignity of biological females. Any male that does is ignoring female lack of consent and violating our boundaries.

LindorDoubleChoc · 21/01/2026 12:33

I am and always have been gender critical and I absolutely do not want men or transwomen in women's spaces, including the loos, but I don't believe all transwomen are perverts.

They may not be perverts, but they are breaking the law in the uk if they enter female spaces. There is no innocent reason for a man to enter female spaces unless he’s an employee of the establishment performing his job

I have seen men using ladies toilets because they were the only ones with baby facilities (how ridiculous that it's still so common today!)

No one privacy and dignity was hurt because a man saw them washing their hands. - and of course none of the men were pervert.

Neither are the young boys who are there so their mum keeps an eye on them

Of course not everyone is a "pervert". I am more worried about people who are so strung up they see perverts everywhere

Soonenough · 21/01/2026 12:45

I agree with him . No reason for them to be there. Get out .

ThatCraftySquid · 21/01/2026 12:45

It's funny, I have seen places where 1 set of toilets was shut (looking at you, Eurostar or various motorway places).

Women simply used the men's toilets without much concern, and it's MEN who were highly embarrassed and most of them walked away when they saw women.

But hey, all men are predators and pervert. Give me strength.

ExtraOnions · 21/01/2026 12:46

Couid just really have stuck with “Some men are perverts”

No they are not breaking the law.

An organisation may break the law if they offer single sex spaces and allow a male into a female loo, for example. But the male in this scenario breaks no laws.

There is no law banning one sex from the toilets / changing rooms / other single sex spaces of the other.

LindorDoubleChoc · 21/01/2026 12:48

Why are you clapping back at me @Namelessnelly, it's extremely tiresome. I answered the question asked, there's not need to lecture ME on the recent clarification of the law. Fgs.

It truly is shocking how many places still have the baby change facilities in the female toilet, I’m not greatly impressed with them in any toilet, but appreciate some places simply wouldn’t have room for a baby change only facility, so, as a now a granddad,, when this happens, am I a pervert if I used the female toilet to change little one( I never have for context , will look for alternatives)

No-one said ALL men are predators just the ones who use the women's.
I wasn't referring to single enclosed cubicles as you well know.

You're responding in bad faith.
I'm referring to women's toilets where there is usually more than one toilet NOT single enclosed cubicles on trains - these are the exception, not the rule.
No-one has any issue with an individual using a single enclosed toilet - these are usually unisex for that reason.

I agree. And I'm not sure branding them as such and making this the thrust of the argument to deny them women's spaces is helpful. Perversion is only one reason why men should not be in women's spaces. We don't want to arrive at a point where people think provided men are not driven be sexual motives they're doing no harm.

You're splitting hairs as so many trans activists do all the time.

You're ignoring the fact that the laws were written before men started claiming to be women and barging into women only spaces for a cheap thrill.

No-one ever thought it would be necessary to explicitly ban men from women only spaces - now we can see it is, so probably the law needs to be updated for the bad faith actors.

I am female. What else than "single enclosed cubicles" are there? I have never been in any toilets without cubicles? And the few male toilets I have seen had some cubicles, and obviously urinals.

It's not splitting hairs. It's the law. And there's an awful lot of (wilful?) misunderstanding of what the SC ruling means.

Following clarification of the EA, it has been made clear to organisations that if they offer single sex spaces but encourage or direct men into the women's loos (e.g. by having posters up saying "use the toilet you identify with) then they break the law.

It has never been illegal / criminal for an individual to just be in the wrong sex space. This is because that legislation would be ridiculously protracted to cover all genuine exceptions and completely unworkable.

but "women's toilets" ARE enclosed cubicles anyway? What difference does it even make?

Helleofabore · 21/01/2026 13:07

I think it is time, in the UK, for some people to accept that any male person who now makes a conscious choice to use a provision that is a female single sex provision is doing so knowing that there is a likelihood that their access to that provision will cause harm to at least one female person also accessing that provision. Female people have not consented to these male people accessing that provision.

What is the acceptable term for a male person who ignores female people's consent.?

CurryTonite · 21/01/2026 13:08

Of course they are, if they weren’t they wouldn’t do it because they wouldn’t want to be labelled as a pervert.

Oh jeez. Its the SNP argument that there’s no difference in risk between 7 year old boys and adult men in dresses. 🙄🙄

Then transwomen will be fine using the men’s cubicles right?

Namelessnelly · 21/01/2026 13:13

men’s also have cubicles so there’s no reason for any man to use the ladies is there?

Duncan would be right ! He has spoken out before now and has taken a stand in his own business.
Good on him

you are trying to be clever, but MN is full of threads with poster screaming at the idea of a boy past the age of 8 or 10 in women's toilets.

Thankfully in real life, many of us live in a world surrounded by men and no one is especially at risk.

So if men are so safe and lovely, why are males with a trans identity so afraid of sharing spaces with them?
