Browsing at my Instagram this evening and feel a need to have a rant lol.
Influencers talking about Sunday night "reset" in videos about simply planning for the week ahead. I mean mundane things like ironing school uniforms, tidying up the kitchen.. Just normal tasks that are familiar to most of us. Why call it a "reset"?

Similar is when an influencer is posting videos of themselves in new clothing items.. Lets say new shirt or jacket etc. They call it a "piece". As in I got this piece in x shop..
Why not just call the item whatever it actually is?

I hate the viral items of clothing. They start with ‘ everyone is talking about these viral jeans’. Er no they are not

I saw an Instagrammer told me about viral dumpling lasagne today. Apparently it has everything that is good about normal lasagne.

It had no cheese. No delicious crisped up cheesy top. Please explain to me how the above statement could hold true in light of this fact. I was most restrained and didn't comment this. So you are getting it instead.

Zanatdy · 18/01/2026 20:08

Just a social media thing. People like to watch cleaning videos as they are pretty popular (I sometimes find myself watching). On instagram / tiktok people follow trends etc so one person probably began the whole reset thing, and everyone followed. In my day, it was (and is) called cleaning the house!

Polyestered · 18/01/2026 20:08

“She doesn’t know it yet but…..”

X is going to ask you to do something, it’s very important you say yes”

and the nails tapping 🤢

AAAAAAH FUCK OFF

hahagogomomo · 18/01/2026 20:10

Don’t watch them, problem solved

DameOfThrones · 18/01/2026 20:11

Redpeach · 18/01/2026 20:03

Why are u watching this shit

This is what I was wondering.

I can honestly say in all my years on earth, I've never seen an influencer 'in action' so to speak.

I only ever see them in interviews on GMB or game shows etc.

“Chef’s kiss” 🤮

I absolutely hate that with a passion 🤮🤮🤮

“Come with me to a hidden gem, Pizza Express”.

Sound like Prince Andrew’s chat up line 😆

PoppiesForTea · 18/01/2026 20:16

"Life hacks"

Ughh... also GRWM

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 18/01/2026 20:16

Everyone's a MUA these days and they all dribble tons of product down their faces. Meanwhile in the real world, where we're not given this crap for free, we use and waste far less.

Urgh2302 · 18/01/2026 20:18

“Don’t sleep on X” 😣

Scarfitwere · 18/01/2026 20:18

All Americanisms. Awful

SilverPink · 18/01/2026 20:19

I’ve seen a few on instagram say they’ll be shopping more sustainably this year - so only buying 30 new dresses instead of 50… If they were really shopping sustainably they’d be in the charity shops.

tobee · 18/01/2026 20:19

I don't think I've ever watched an influencer video but having a reset every Sunday sounds exhausting

ilovepixie · 18/01/2026 20:20

Influencers do my head in. Especially the eating ones, and the mums with fat kids feeding them chocolate all day!

Ellanory · 18/01/2026 20:20

Everything is 'elevated'.

Pinkissmart · 18/01/2026 20:22

‘Time casts a spell on you…… and probably will be for life’

Stop with the song!!

Grown ups lip syncing to the camera. For likes.
Grown ups crying into the camera. For likes.
Its pathetic

Flannelfeet · 18/01/2026 20:26

Where are all the influencers that say there sunday "reset" after all the ironing and sorting school shit out for the Monday is relaxing and tanning a bottle of wine? Are there many of them? Im actually wondering this because I dont go on social media so it would be nice to know there are people out there gubbed after all the hard work all week. 🤣

MushyPeasAndMintSauce · 18/01/2026 20:28

That little finger clap thing as demonstrated by Julia Ruth on married at first sight.

Not clothing but something that got promoted by everyone over Christmas on Tiktok is those god awful kpop demon Hunter temu dolls. They give me fucking nightmares. They're so shit and I can't imagine how disappointed many kids were with poundland quality knock off dolls called "demon slayer dolls" 😂😭

SpigTheFish · 18/01/2026 20:32

'Elevated.' 'Obsessed.' 'Dreamy.' 'You Guys.' 'Crazy Cool.' 'Switch-up.' Cant stand it. A person really goes down in my estimation when they use these bandwagon words.

Abd80 · 18/01/2026 20:33

Obsessed!

Thursa · 18/01/2026 20:34

I do enjoy cleaning videos. My favourite is Remi Clog (FB, make sure you follow the blue tick). But some of them splashing different chemicals about is a bit scary. I wonder how they’ve not gassed themselves…

pouletvous · 18/01/2026 20:35

Why are they all harping on about 2016?

I don’t understand how the word viral can be used to describe a meal

gross

Why are they all harping on about 2016?

2016 fashion is trending for 2026, so skinny jeans, millennial pink, it bags, backless loafers, skinny scarves, slip dresses.
