What do you make of ‘No Trouser Tube Ride’?

Saw the spectacle for myself. As a woman in my late 20s I have absolutely no desire to participate in this. Seems like an outdated 2013 “quirky” trend that won’t die. I’m always surprised at the diversity in those who participate - old/young, thin/bigger etc.

Maybe I’m getting older but I really just thought “put it away”

Saw the paps at the St I got off and would be mortified being photographed in my knickers.

Some of the hairy, Casper legs were quite frankly gross!

A) I have no idea what this event is
B) Is it hair on the women’s legs that you object to?

Edited: I now see that you’ve edited to add a link. Thanks (but I’m not clicking, simply because I have no desire to see a load of Londoners in their pants).

On those grounds, and on the grounds of your reply about hairy legs, YANBU.

No the men!

I'm not sure mocking anyone's natural body hair or their skin colour is on really.

But the tube ride thing is just odd.

I get your point but the participants are the ones making their body hair and skin a public spectacle

LoveSandbanks · 12/01/2026 21:45

i suppose it’s relatively harmless but it’s not for me. And why the fuck in January???

it’s better than the naked bike ride!

Skin colour is not a choice. Completely wrong to make fun of any skin tone.

I saw that too (same day as my hen last year)! Horrifying. So glad I did not have my contacts in so was spared mostly. Did think it was a bit off given how many kids were about

It may have started out as a fun quirky thing but seems to me it's being taken over by the exhibitionists. Which is actually quite predictable and boring.

you cannot be this much of a stick in the mud, surely!

I’m not the one who started a thread about seeing people in their pants!

ItsOnlyHobnobs · 12/01/2026 21:49

Attention seekers or pervs.

Or a healthy dose of both.

Bagsintheboot · 12/01/2026 21:50

I find it bemusing but not horrifying. Those tube seats are mucky, I wouldn't want to have my bare legs on them!

You see more skin on most nights out and I've seen women wearing "scrunch bum" leggings in public that are far more revealing than a pair of boxers.

HoseGoblin · 12/01/2026 21:50

I don't get it and I certainly wouldn't want my bare legs on a London tube seat (nor to be pantsless in January!) but people do weird stuff all the time for fun. They're not really hurting anyone.

You sneering at people's skin colour and body hair is far more distasteful than a silly trouserless tradition.

Bearbookagainandagain · 12/01/2026 21:50

I wouldn't do it and it's a bit silly IMO, but it's not such a big deal either (as long as they are wearing pants!).

Screamingabdabz · 12/01/2026 21:51

I’m not a fan. I prefer people - especially men - covered up thanks.

This. Not ok.

XenoBitch · 12/01/2026 21:57

Oh no... legs out. The Victorian times called and asked for you to return.

Quoting myself (!) as it won’t let me do a second edit.

OP, When I saw your edit that included the link, I didn’t notice that you’d also edited the ‘legs’ comment to include a judgement about skin tone. Not cool. YABU.

BriefEncountersOfTheThirdKind · 12/01/2026 22:07

It's just legs

And the fact people of all shapes and sizes take part should be celebrated not scorned

Well-done those people on not worrying about what judgemental arseholes might think

BunnyLake · 12/01/2026 22:12

Attention seeking Gen whatever they are. Maybe they don’t feel the cold. Not for me. Let’s hope no one has skid marks.

Does your username indicate you take part 😁

Cocomelon67 · 12/01/2026 22:16

Can’t get too worked up about it. You’d see much more at the beach.

How do you make the colour of your skin a public spectacle?

Or your leg hair for that matter?

I don't live near London

I do, however, show about the same amount of flesh when I go to see RHPS 🤷‍♀️

MooFroo · 12/01/2026 22:38

Ridiculous and should be banned.
Simple - put clothes on in public, why encourage people to walk around in knickers?!
