As the internet blackout enters the second week, Sky News report that the Pentagon is readying to send thousands of additional US forces & assets to the Middle East.

Citing a US official, it states that this includes a carrier strike group, additional air craft and land-based air defence systems.

Satellite imagery appeared to show the US Abraham Lincoln heading in the direction of the Middle East.

Donald Trump still considering his options.

Yeah we owe them to be honest, a lot of blood on our hands for delivering that prick to Tehran.

You have so many excellent posts on here. My wife is from Iran, we have been married for 35 years. I have relatives in Iran, who we have been unable to contact for 10 days. The situation there is pretty dire, with heaven knows how many thousands of protestors have been killed, Because of the regime internet blackout, it has enabled them to put out pro regime propaganda, but at the same time, there is a trickle of news from the protesters coming out. I am not happy about the way Trump and Pahlavi have been encouraging people to go out on the streets, to get slaughtered and now they have seemingly left them out to dry. I have also been disgusted by left wing sites and blogs over here - Craig Murray for instance, saying that these are not real anti regime protests, simply outside interference by the US and Israel. People don't seem to realise, that in Iran, ordinary people don't have weapons, so they can't fight back. This isn't like 1979, when the US/UK helped the Shah into exile, the Khomeini came out of exile in France and the military very quickly stopped firing against the people and themselves joined the revolution. That isn't going to happen this time, because the regime is so entrenched, the IRGC so huge and the backup militias such as the Basij are totally evil.
Iran needs outside assistance quickly and I don't know where that help is coming from, because it isn't like the "old days", when you had UN peacekeeping forces, there doesn't seem to be any co-ordination between willing states to stop this.

I hope you hear from your family soon. My heart aches for the people of Iran. Abused by the regime and used by Trump.

Also - Craig Murray is a prick and always has been.

Thank you for sharing. I hope you hear from family soon and that they are all ok.

Sadly, as you say

"Craig Murray for instance, saying that these are not real anti regime protests, simply outside interference by the US and Israel. People don't seem to realise, that in Iran, ordinary people don't have weapons, so they can't fight back"

There are people that believe that the protesters are 'rioters' and paid for by the US, the claims made on some threads show how easily some people wish to swallow that line. Sadly, whilst the Iranian regime push out their narrative and the blackout stops families sharing their actual experiences, some will, sadly, for various reasons, believe the regime. (Some hate anything West whilst enjoying the freedoms).

What really doesn’t make sense to me is how some people believe that the protesters are just doing it for money, when it’s known that thousands of them have already been killed by the regime.
How would so many people risk their lives if they weren’t really desperate for change?

Yes money is a bit pointless when your dead.

Another conspiracy theory that people in Iran aren't really repressed and protesting for a regime change, they are paid actors by the west. I mean what twits believe that.
