Bizarre things you couldnt fathom

Not AIBU. Just curious.
Have you ever experienced anything either publicly or privately that just didn't make sense or seemed bizarre or you just couldnt fathom in some way.
I was in a small cafe looking out on Trafalgar Square about 10 years ago. ..Alan Yentob walked in through the door. .I kept an eye constantly on the door because I wanted to get a good look at him when he walked out again but I didn't want to stare while he was in the cafe. I was by the window seat looking out on Trafalgar Square. After about 15 minutes i turned my head and looked round in the cafe and he was nowhere to be seen. It was a small cafe !! He wasnt sitting at any of the tables and I'd had my eye on the door the whole time so I know he couldn" t have slipped past me. There was no other exit and only some toilets. It was a really bizarre experience that I can't fathom to this day. I KNOW I never took my eye off the door. I just dont know where he went.

It wasn’t him- it was just someone who looked like him from a particular angle. It was him, and he went out at the same time as a group of others and you missed him. He was abducted by aliens using a tractor beam. There was a fire exit at the back and for some reason he used that to go out. He adopted a cunning disguise in the loo and went out as an entirely different person.

Was in my house and heard a low deep voice the other week. Just me there. I have to assume it was the Alexa being weird but it didn’t sound like Alexa as I have the female voice on it.

My heavy salt lamp fell off my dressing table a few years ago, just fell on the floor. There was nobody upstairs, I just heard the bang. To this day I cannot fathom how it happened. Our little dogs bed used to be next to dressing table, if he’d of been there he’d of been dead for sure.

I bought a Lottery ticket twice a week for a year and didn't win anything over £10.

Even more unfathomably, I used to be friends with Simon Le Bon and he wasn't at all interested in me 'that way'.

Life's full of these perplexing mysteries!

😂i did wonder if there was an exot through the kitchen and whether he was just allowed to use it because he was a celebrity....not to get away from screaming fans obviously cos he wasnt that kind of celebrity but more jjust because maybe it was a shortcut to another street or something. It was a weird experience.

There was a low rumbling noise like a lorry going past and your brain interpreted it as a voice.

I once came downstairs first thing in the morning - pre-children - to find a bouncy ball in the middle of the kitchen. Never did work it out!

Dog? Came through window? Fell out of a box you'd been moving ? Ghost playing tennis ?

I was having dinner with one of my kids on Charing Cross Road, just off Trafalgar Sq (some years ago) while a full scale riot started outside. Things in the restaurant just carried on normally. Then a woman lowered her pants and took a dump in the street, just by the window where we were sat. Rather put me off my sticky toffee pudding.

Glad he wasnt there !! Sometimes there are weird vibrations..vehicle going past ? was it near the edge to begin with.

I was visiting a friends flat and went to use the bathroom. I then hear my friends name being called by an Australian voice and lots of one sided chatter. Exit the bathroom thinking how on earth can claire be back here when she'd left to fly home a month ago? Friend was completely bemused; nope claire wasn't back at her flat and was safely home in oz, she hadn't been speaking to her on the phone and she hadn't heard any voices... Just so random and odd. One of those things that will never make sense - I know exactly what I heard!

I once dropped an onion I was about to chop. I heard it hit the floor but was nowhere to be seen. It couldn't have rolled under anything as there are kickboards in place under the cupboards all round the kitchen. Me and my husband both searched and it was never found, just vanished.

A few day’s ago a dry tea towel on the worktop became soaking wet. There’s no leak but there was puddled water under the towel. I’ve put a dry one there now and check it’s still dry every day.

TheBewleySisters · 12/01/2026 12:36

I was sitting quietly reading one evening when Alexa started to laugh, really loud guffaws. I turned my head slowly to look at the speaker and the laughter stopped. 'She' then started to speak in Chinese. I was so freaked out I unplugged her. It never happened again.

I see angels. Nobody else sees them. I can talk to them, touch them, hear them. They set me missions.
Im not psychotic, had two opinions from psychs recently (was diagnosed psychotic for a few years and on antipsychotic meds).
So my only conclusion is that they are in fact a reality, and I was chosen as they say.

I was washing up bottles for the baby a couple of years ago, I washed up a bottle and went to put it back together and the teat wasn’t on the draining board (empty apart from bottle bits), it was definitely there when I took the bottle apart. I never found it, literally no idea where it could have gone 🤷🏼‍♀️

We had something similar recently, but found the explanation. We kept finding a small puddle of water on the floor at the edge of our freestanding cupboard in the kitchen. Would mop it up. It was there again the following morning. No ceiling leak, no spillage. But when we moved the cupboard we found we had dropped a pot of sea salt over the back. It would release water whenever the house cooled down at night (or warmed up in the morning? Not sure of the science) That formed the puddle.
