Baby on bus eating pizza!

Netcurtainnelly · 11/01/2026 21:38

Would you leave your baby in pushchair eating pizza?

Baby was definitely not walking yet and eating a piece of pizza on their own, lay back abit not even upright in the pushchair!😱

AIBU to think the base of a pizza isn't suitable for a baby, let alone eating without someone really watching over them.😕

A net curtain twitcher 😂 Sounds about right. Sticking her nose into other people’s business!

Surely Irn Bru is only the correct pairing when the pizza is deep fried?

😂😂

This thread has given me such a laugh, not sure if that was what OP was aiming for 😭😂but I’m glad they posted.

My dd was partial to a cheese and onion pasty on the bus from tiny. She used to love sitting in her pushchair, chomping away.

petermaddog · 12/01/2026 23:17

6month old little brother chew on piece of steak or pork, pizza at year old
my boys loved the crusts and would steal the cheese and the bigger pieces
were for sword fights any thing that hit the floor my amstaff took care of that

Did the baby have a phone handy? I'd be more concerned about that. There was a post the other day about a baby in a restaurant eating a burger with a phone on their tray (I don't think it was going to eat the phone but the poster was obviously concerned).

That's disgraceful. Didn't anyone consider the risks of getting ketchup or mayo in the charging port or clogging up the speakers? What have we become as a society when devices are neglected this way?

That baby is probably an influencer and was creating content.

Laughingmole · 13/01/2026 14:12

My 7 month old is currently sat on my lap chewing on a bit of pizza crust…. But we are on the sofa, not on a bus.
Am I hindering her chances in life?! Do we need to make a mad dash to the bus stop before she finishes eating? will she ever forgive me?

FurForksSake · 13/01/2026 14:30

@Laughingmole are you admitting to being the bus mum? The evidence would suggest you are happy to give the baby inappropriate rations, but you are closely supervising so the jury is out.

Id like to know what the baby is drinking, please? Tea in a bottle? A purple fruit shoot (known for making kids piss themselves for some reason)? Irn bru (the original in the glass bottle with proper amount of sugar)? A monster perhaps? A mango bango loco poco one? Or perhaps just a Diet Coke with a half measure of rum?

Laughingmole · 13/01/2026 14:38

@FurForksSake I’m not the bus mum…. But am I making my baby miss out by not being a bus mum?! In fact, she’s never even been on a bus!
She’s a bit fussy with bottles (breastfed baby) so I can only get her to drink Prosecco out the bottle. But I limit her to just one bottle a day!

ForTipsyFinch · 13/01/2026 14:40

It’s odd that you care so much tbh

ktopfwcv · 13/01/2026 15:09

You're right, the base of a pizza isn't acceptable.
Did the parent greedily eat the toppings first? Out of order.

Pyew · 14/01/2026 00:12

I blame the smoking ban. In my day it would have been 20 Marlboro red and a diet pepsi. But now everyone is obese.

JohnTheRevelator · 14/01/2026 00:30

Was the baby drinking a can of Red Bull as well? I kid you not,a few years ago on a bus I saw a mother pour some Red Bull into her child's bottle (child must have been about 2) and gave it to him to drink.

Lucky baby. What I wouldn’t give to be reclined on a bus eating pizza

Pizza followed by a nap.
Baby’s living their best life 😁

outerspacepotato · 14/01/2026 01:03

Now I want a slice.

Bus baby with pizza has influenced me.

Pieceofpurplesky · 14/01/2026 01:21

DS was about 10 months old when we went on a (very middle class) holiday to Italy and one night in a restaurant the waiter gave him a piece of pizza to chomp on. He loved it and it kept him happy and quiet for an hour. He's a 6'2 21 year old now and still loves pizza. And lots of healthy food. The child you saw may live on broccoli and eggs for the rest of the week! You don't know.

And now that I think about it I don't think I have ever seen anyone - baby, adult or elderly, fat, thin, black, white or brown, sighted, disabled or sight impaired - eat pizza on a bus. Not ever.

.

Laying back "abit" covers a wide range of positions.

You can eat pizza base (so, bread!) from six months old.

Not sure what the problem is, unless the baby was also driving the bus.

HappyMamma2023 · 14/01/2026 09:55

I don't think the pizza is the issue but laying back is a choking risk. We still watch our son eating and he's 2.

I have been known to eat a Greggs pizza while on the bus.....

I wouldn't leave my baby on a bus eating pizza without a can of coke to wash it down with. Clearly that parent is neglectful.

No sorry it has to be Dr pepper. Coke is neglectful.

I never knew Greggs even did pizza. You learn something new every day.

I live in London. You don't often see people eating on the bus or tube here. In fact the only people who insist on eating on London Transport are babies and toddlers. Something must be done about these pesky babies eating pizza and guzzling Iron Brew.

Imheretobenosey · 14/01/2026 12:27

pizza is demonised when it’s essential bread, tomato, cheese etc. If you had cheese on toast with tomato slices you wouldn’t deem that a “ awful “ food. please don’t judge parents you don’t know based on a quick interaction to the comments shouting neglect.. parent could be having a really bad day/ really ill but no child care on there way to the doctors and using what was in the fridge to feed their child. please can we all just stop mum shaming everyone interaction
