Baby on bus eating pizza!

Netcurtainnelly · 11/01/2026 21:38

Would you leave your baby in pushchair eating pizza?

Baby was definitely not walking yet and eating a piece of pizza on their own, lay back abit not even upright in the pushchair!😱

AIBU to think the base of a pizza isn't suitable for a baby, let alone eating without someone really watching over them.😕

@Lamentingalways I think I had my first wine with lunch at 4, definitely more toddler than baby. It was more water than wine and the quantities changed through my childhood until I could have tolerate a full small glass in my early secondary years. Obviously sangria was offered as an alternative in the summer.

im now not sure that was very normal. It was the 80s.

Hahahaha same. Whilst the sweet smell of nicotine filled the air!

Eating on a bus can be considered a bit gauche by some. Baby should have waited until it got home really. Then garlic bread and a nice Chianti and side salad could have been added.

ladygindiva · 11/01/2026 22:40

You don't know the age of the baby/toddler. All 3 of my DC were very small for their age ( I was too, it runs in our family) and slow to grow hair ( practically still bald at 2 yo) people used to give me funny looks when for instance got out of their pushchairs and ran about as they only looked about 8/9 months old at 2 yrs.

Mydonkeyisred · 11/01/2026 22:42

My kids loved a slice of pizza from around 10 months old dunno what's wrong with a pizza slice.
My concern is where was the parents on the bus we use you don't leave the pushchair you stand next to it.

Delphiniumandlupins · 11/01/2026 22:42

I think anyone eating pizza in public should be prepared to share and it doesn't sound as if this child was. Therefore YANBU.

January2026Bluesoohs · 11/01/2026 22:43

Jokes aside though toddler with pizza on a bus is a NO NO massive red flag for neglect and shite parents, if it was a truck or lorry it’s fine.

FurForksSake · 11/01/2026 22:43

Was it a nice pushchair or a cheap one with noisy wheels? I wouldn’t have left my uppabay unattended, but the cheap holiday buggy I probably would have happily abandoned.

NotAnotherOneNC · 11/01/2026 22:43

This is dreadful. I cannot believe this baby had such a lack of manners that it didn't even offer to share...

Mumwithbaggage · 11/01/2026 22:44

Dd1 and her friend were weaned on Pizza Express crusts while we mums had our evening out after work every Thursday. Both girls are articulate graduates with houses, good jobs and partners. Obviously, Pizza Express pizza doesn't count because back in the day it was much more middle class. And we'd have never given them pineapple.

Ah! Good cross post.

Lucky baby. What I wouldn’t give to be reclined on a bus eating pizza

😂 Brilliant

Ridiculous.

You want Fanta.

Personally, I never got on the bus without providing my baby with a kebab and a can of Tennant's Extra.

Porwrp · 11/01/2026 22:48

If your bus journey today wasn't a once in a lifetime event you are going to need to learn to unclench.

littleorangefox · 11/01/2026 22:50

Was it stuffed crust though?

Porwrp · 11/01/2026 22:50

I'm loving all the top level bus snack suggestions.

May I proffer: a bag of cheese straws from Cooplands.

Yes a Greggs sausage roll is good, but it's almost too good for a baby. Keep those to yourself and just give them half a cheese straw to drool on.

No irn bru now horrible since some sugar replaced by artificial sweeteners. Artificial sweeteners not good for babies

I don’t think Buckfast has sweeteners.

Chickenhorse · 11/01/2026 22:51

Sanasaaa · 11/01/2026 21:59

Probably drinking 'full fat' coke with their extra large Pitbull. 😰

(Obv I'm joking)

I thought Pitbulls preferred Redbull? With a packet of cheese and onion crisps.

KateDelRick · 11/01/2026 22:51

I am actually shocked. I would always wait until I got off the bus was outside the betting shop before I gave mine pizza. I'd often nip out and give them a bag of Monster Munch if they still looked hungry and the racing was still on.

A can of Tennant's extra for a baby?? You have to put it in their bottle. They'll spill a can.

Were you in the Woking restaurant frequented by the Yorks oops I mean the Mountbatten Windsors? Proper posh that one.
