It's genuinely adorable @EeByGumMum I love small, classic looking engagement rings. Mine is very similar. (Got engaged in the early 1990s.)

Can't bear the ugly ass big chunky ones. One of my neighbour's daughters has one like in pic 1 here. I think it's fugly. I also dislike Taylor Swift's engagement ring.

I don't have to wear them though, so....

Yes its lovely. I prefer the smaller rings I don't like big chunky ones. It will fit the wedding ring better.

I think it's lovely, and suits your hand. I would have loved it even more with a cast setting, but that's just me.

Now the interesting bit of why I am qualified to comment! I am a mystery shopper and I had a project where I had to go out to all the most exclusive jewellery shops in London and price diamonds. I had to tell them what I wanted in categories which were given to me - measurements in clarity, carats, cut and colour. I quickly realised that I was shopping for diamonds up to half a million ££, and that I would HATE to wear a really valuable stone on my own finger - I'd be scared of getting robbed. I love my own ring with a tiny, perfect diamond that my husband and I commissioned and which is meaningful to us both. These are the values that matter!

(But if you are ever desperate for a free glass of champagne, shopping for a solitaire engagement ring is the way to be offered one.)

I didn't choose my engagement ring, my, now, husband did, total surprise. It was very similar, very simple and very classic. He knew EXACTLY what I would like even though we hadn't discussed it. That was 29yrs ago and we're still going strong.

Love it OP - it's almost identical to mine, except that my ring is platinum, as I suit cool-toned metals.

I'm a metalsmith and set stones for rings all the time. I absolutely love coloured gemstones, and creating different settings for them, but I knew that for my engagement ring, I wanted a beautiful diamond, in the simplest setting possible, with the bottom of the stone visible for maximum light pouring through the diamond.

20 years on, I'm still really happy with my choice.

Do you like it? I would prefer something more interesting to be honest but appreciate some people like a classic style. It’s very pretty. Mins is bright green so also not everyone’s cup of tea!!!
