I'm not sure what the the OP wants MN to say. It's not a big ring but unless the OP just got engaged to a multi millionaire,what is the point of spending thousand of pounds on a ring. Surely,it's what the ring represents that matters and not how big is it?

It's clearly your first day here, so I'd suggest that you take your usual world view of people saying nice things to somebody who has just got engaged, is happy to be engaged and wants to show people her lovely, meaningful ring - and chuck it in the bin.
