Those prisoners starving themselves, what the hell is going on in this crazy world!!!!

Pro Palestine activists are on a hunger strike, I really hope you get the result you want, the people of Gaza remember you seven kids who died for…… oh for them! 😂

I watched an interesting interview months ago now a young guy who was born in Israel then his father ended up being one of the head chiefs ( killers) in Hamas he know lives back in Israel after escaping…. His wise words were…. ‘ you lot in the west have no idea what is going on, with your protests and flags, stop trying to get involved in something we can and won’t be able to change’
This comes from a person on both sides who stayed very humble but very blunt.

Stop your silly little hunger strike, go and enjoy time with your family and friends you are lucky enough to be able to do that.

Apparently there on average over 200 hunger strikes per year! I didn't realise there were that many.

Oh yeah, happens quite a bit. Which is one reason why it can't become an avenue for special treatment.

I genuinely didn't realise. Others that hunger strike each year ( around 200) obviously don't get the same attention and fawning over as the Palestine action lot.

I take back my last comment and the one above. Isn't Kier Starmer supporting Israel and selling weapons. I can understand their position. I was a little too hasty with my judgement.

Still isn't going to make any difference to government policy.

I would imagine that in some ways, the hunger strike makes it harder to change direction because now the government needs to avoid the appearance of being swayed by a hunger strike.

Prisons minister today:

"I'm very clear, I don't treat any prisoners differently from any other, and that is why I will not be meeting any prisoners ".

They have demanded to meet. I guess if he met these hunger strikers, then any prisoners that wanted attention would do the same. They chose not to eat. I wouldn't want any to die. They need to stand trial for the charges against them, just like any remand prisoners and let the court of law hear evidence and then decide if innocent or guilty of charges.

I guess if he met these hunger strikers, then any prisoners that wanted attention would do the same

And how many would die because they had been convinced that hunger strike is an effective means of persuasion?

They are asking to be released because crimes like supporting terrorism and attacking a police woman with a sledge hammer and breaking her back are completely justifiable. They’ve completely lost any grip on reality

They also think that it is unfair that they are being treated seriously because their organisation is now a proscribed terrorist organisation when it wasn't when they committed their crimes. They are missing the point that they're part of the reason that it was proscribed.

I've just read a letter from Jeremy Corbyn to the prison with various complaints about the treatment of the hunger strikers.

One of the complaints is
"Inconsistent administration of essential daily nutrients, apparently due to a lack of supply at the prison"

what? I thought the point of a hunger strike was refusing essential daily nutrients?

I read that letter and couldn't believe what I saw. Corbyn (as a longstandng MP) must know about hunger strikers in prisons, not just this group. There is no way that our mealy mouthed Government will put up with blackmail (for once). If they cave in to demands now it will be a free for all with all remand prisoners. Corbyn should be ashamed of himself for getting involved.

noblegiraffe · 22/12/2025 10:35

Corbyn and Sultana are jostling for who can be the most prominent egger-on of the hunger strikers, just as they are jostling for control of Your Party.

I just googled Corbyn to find him giving a speech a couple of years ago lionising Bobby Sands and saying how courageous he was to die for the cause.

He's backing these kids into a corner they can't get out of.

noblegiraffe · 22/12/2025 11:45

I say kids because they are 50 years younger than him.

Wow. Me neither. Where did you find that out? Interesting that we don’t much hear about them; what usually happens? Bit scary if they are a normalised way of death in our prisons.

noblegiraffe · 22/12/2025 11:58

"The prisons minister, Lord Timpson, said: “We are very experienced at dealing with hunger strikes. Unfortunately, over the last five years we have averaged over 200 hunger strike incidents every year and the processes that we have are well-established and they work very well – with prisons working alongside our NHS partners every day, making sure our systems are robust and working – and they are.”

They appear to be completely disconnected from reality. I hazard a guess and say most people don't support terrorist organisations. There are people who are completely obsessed with Palestine, ignore all and any other conflicts, deaths of any innocents and think Palestine is the most important issue in the world. They lose grip, join this cult like group and do extreme things. Society needs protecting from people in cults that carry out dangerous behaviours/terrorism/sledgehammer police women/whip security guards/endangered Air Bases and damage aeroplanes.

noblegiraffe · 23/12/2025 08:21

In good news, Qesser Zuhrah, the hunger striker who Zarah Sultana was demanding an ambulance for a few days ago, has ended her hunger strike.

Hopefully the others will too.

IsItSnowing · 23/12/2025 09:09

Marylou2 · 18/12/2025 21:43

Pandering to terrorists and starving themselves for attention. Disgraceful behaviour.

Exactly. Performative protests.
Anyway, eating every few days isn't a hunger strike really is it? It's just more attention seeking behaviour.

Fingers crossed. Glad Zarah didn't manage to goad her into starving herself to death.

Yes - whenever she talked about them needing to be 'safe' I thought "yes, somewhere far away from you lot".

Smilesinthesunshine · 23/12/2025 10:19

Good news that they have ended their fast. Perhaps the ridiculous Sultana women will wind her neck in now.
They have been on remand for a long time. Hopefully they will soon appear at court and recieve a suitable sentence of at least 10 to 15 years.

growingsideway · 23/12/2025 10:40

4 of the 8 have now ended their fast.

clearly they’re not actually that committed to their cause!
