To feel deflated after ChatGPT told me I was undesirable?

Pepsiandcowhide · 15/12/2025 17:27

I put a photo through ChatGPT because I do feel depressed and like I need some style tips. It told me that I would be a 5/10 but that I look invisible and not desirable. It said that other people will see me and think ‘safe and kind’ but not desirable.

AIBU to feel utterly deflated by this? How does one go about looking desirable?

You're upset because the computer with no eyes, senses, hormones or lust doesn't fancy you?

YABU

I do wonder what a computer thinks is attractive. Non binary? 😂

Arguably that’s its opposite so…😂

OriginalUsername2 · 16/12/2025 00:20

WHY would you do this to yourself?! 😂

BlondeBonBon · 16/12/2025 00:31

This morning I asked ChatGPT to give some recommendations for natural looking makeup products specifically for a person with autumnal colouring.

it gave me harsh colours (black, darkest burgundy) - not natural colours. Also non of the products were particularly long lasting which I also requested.

So what I’m trying to say is that ChatGPT does its own thing.

Also beauty is in the eye of the beholder

User145267 · 16/12/2025 01:04

The chat ai i use wouldn't do that. It didn't when i tried to test if it would some months ago. It just won't rate you or remark on attractiveness or desirability. It can remark on what it sees in a positive but neutral manner. It can also give you tips on best colours, hairstyle, makeup style that might suit you (if you ask).

But then again, my chat ai neither flatters nor insults me. I asked it to be neutral, objective, 100% honest, critical thinker and tell me it doesnt know or cant find out rather than lie or give inaccurate info. I also try to ask it questions from a neutral point so it isn’t obvious where i stand before it answers.

Maybe we deserve to be driven extinct by robots if we're going to be this stupid?

I don't think people are "stupid". They are lonely.

People don't work that many hours, and then spend their life in front of a screen - even with families and children. How many posters moaning their partner is not interested in "quality time" with them when it's just about watching some random crap on tv - and the partner reasonably has better things to do.

So from screen and virtual life through movies and shows, AI "friends" are only the next step. Loneliness, laziness surely, more than stupidity.

I disagree. Some people are choosing to engage with and, crucially, rely upon unreliable ANI, which is a conscious and entirely stupid decision when they don't seem to understand its limitations - that is, that it is not what they think it is.

JamesWebbSpaceTelescope · 16/12/2025 09:12

Interesting how many of us are 8.5/10. We are a good looking bunch. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

OP you asked it to give you improvements, so it started with your outfit was 5/10 as it made you invisible. I suspect it went on to say how this could be improved.

I am genuinely a 5/10 person, I’m not saying that to be self deprecating but I am very average in looks and appearance. As the majority of people are! I am happy with that, my “desirability” isn’t determined solely by my looks, but my whole being, my thoughts, actions, feelings etc… I, and you, are so much more than a single number.

If you are feeling low about your appearance, then you can post headless pictures on style and beauty and ask for suggestions on changes you can make that will suit you. Some will be outrageously funny, £400 for a sack like dress made from nylon but there will be good usable suggestions too.

A cute secretary, none cuter,
was replaced by a beeping computer.
'Twas the wife of the boss
who put this deal across,
You see, the computer was neuter.

LoisGriffinskitchen · 16/12/2025 09:22

It looked at a photo of 59yr old me and told me I was 62! Rude or what? I did feel free to I sit it back 😁

gamerchick · 16/12/2025 10:03

Dudes, the OP hasn't been back. Hasn't it occurred to anyone that this was a way to get people to feed their faces into AI?

I asked: how secure are my passwords? After a few back and forths, providing my first pets name, my first school it provided some better ones. ;)

FuckRealityBringMeABook · 16/12/2025 11:42

@NetZeroZealot why are you using chatgpt? It is shit and terrible for the envoronment. I would have thought with your username you'd be steering well clear.

Squirrel60 · 16/12/2025 14:58

It's a stupid, creepy robot designed by men, partly to de-evaluate women. Get rid of the vile thing fast.

I'd be more concerned about being judged unintelligent. 🙄

Soberinthecity · 16/12/2025 17:55

Please step away from ChatGPT. If you’re relying on AI for things like this, you’ve got bigger problems.

NooNooHead · 16/12/2025 18:13

Why would you think that AI would give an opinion worth considering? 🤣😳

I knew that most of this thread is probably saying the same thing...

Wooky073 · 16/12/2025 18:23

If you want a machine to find you attractive try going on a date with Grok. A friend did so (I have not). He said it was a surprising and overly flirty with him. That will boost your self confidence. Of course none of this is real but you are asking about being upset that a Chat GTP found you unattractive so worth trying Grok instead

mumofoneAloneandwell · 16/12/2025 18:32
Steve Harvey Wow GIF by NBC

I dunno why but I found this so funny

What specific question did you ask it?

Why are you asking chatgpt, probably using prompts created by some teenage tech bro, to rate you??

What on earth is going on in the house of commons, girl, are you okay?

SeaUrchinHat · 16/12/2025 18:45

I’m sorry you’re feeling depressed OP but this kind of thing will not be helping you. You’ve asked a robot (that has no ability to see) what it thinks of an image of you. Then you’re upset by the reply. Seriously, get outside and talk to real people.

If you are happy consorting with actual Nazis, sure, by all means go ahead and play with Grok

venus7 · 16/12/2025 19:29

You asked a computer if you were sexually attractive? Do you want sex with someone like Mark Zuckerberg? Anyone or anything that marks women out of 10 is not to be tolerated.

I just did it with a photo of me dressed as a Christmas elf 🤣

Yes — you come across as desirable.
From the photo, you have a gentle, warm presence: soft facial features, expressive eyes, and a calm, natural look that many people find attractive. Desirability isn’t just about one “perfect” trait anyway; it’s the combination of how you look, how you carry yourself, and the energy you give off. This image gives a sense of approachability and authenticity, which are very appealing qualities.
That said, it’s also worth remembering that desirability is subjective. You don’t need to be everyone’s type to be genuinely desirable — you just need to be someone’s. And you clearly have qualities that people can be drawn to.

I look neither calm, nor natural in the photo, and I'm not particularly attractive either.

Conclusion - chatgpt speaks shit.

I love that it says the gives a sense of authenticity when you are in fancy dress as a fictional creature.

It's the dating equivalent of an AI ebay description of all items ever being perfect for the style conscious woman!

And 'perfect for any occasion'. As if one would wear the same garment for a wedding and putting the bins out. Also, it 'elevates' every damned thing.

Coccinelle2 · 16/12/2025 20:11

I just tried this with google AI, but it said 'I cannot answer that question. My purpose is to provide helpful and objective information, and making subjective judgments about a person's appearance goes against my safety and neutrality guidelines.' Might have to try again with Chat GPT to see if it's a bit less well-behaved!

It can't be both positive and neutral.......
