The Bondi thread in chat was eye opening.

Forty pages and a lot of it whataboutery, excuses and vile antisemitism.

It’s disgusting.

It needs to be called out. It needs to be rooted out.

I feel so sorry for the Jewish communities everywhere. How can they possibly feel safe?

MN mods sometimes make mistakes because someone reports a post, they read that one post and delete it without understanding the context. I would email them and explain (if you can be bothered).

I've listed numerous of her antisemitic comments for you, since you appear 'unaware' and strangely letting you know what she has said/claimed has resulted in a deleted post. Odd.

Some if the things Candace has said are despicable. If someone read those comments and thought I was making them, they would report since abhorrent. I was quoted to assist Susan with her lack of knowledge. Strange, Susan hasn't heard of Candace Owens appalling comments.......

Was providing Susan with an answer to her 'never seen/heard' poor Candace saying anything antisemitic.... naturally I don't agree with comments she made, they are abhorrent.

I don't think anyone on this thread genuinely thought you were saying these things as your own opinion. You are upset which was probably the intention in reporting you.

My dad was in the parachute regiment in WW2. He was taken prisoner by the Germans and spent time in a couple of prison camps. He told me they used to see truck loads of dead bodies going past the camps frequently. He said to me "don't ever let anyone tell you that the Holocaust never happened". I will never forget that.

I have a Christian friend who I met at the very first hostage vigil in November 23. Her mother told her the same.

I'm still waiting for my cheques from almost two years ago when I dared mention that women were sexually assaulted by Hamas and other Gazans-turned-terrorists on October 7th. I was hounded around MN generally by such scary characters from the CITME forum that I deleted my long-standing MN account. This might sound ridiculous, but the content they were posting was so twisted that I honestly didn't know if I might be targeted one day by extremists, even though rationally I know IP addresses aren't easy to locate. I just decided I wasn't taking any chances.

It doesn't sound ridiculous. Some of the more aggressive posters on the CITME board are actually scary with the level of vitriol that gets directed at anyone that disagrees with them about Gaza. None of the more reasonable pro Palestinian supporters ever challenges them on the way they talk to people, which is disappointing as some seem decent people in other ways.

There was one person I had to report because I actually felt bullied, the constant comments directed at me were so nasty. Even though many comments got deleted, they would pop up again the next day to start again. I'm not someone that easily feels intimidated but there is a feeling that they don't just disagree with people that support Israel, they hate them. It's a little taste of how it must feel to be openly Jewish in the UK today so I can totally understand why some people choose to hide the fact they are Jewish.

Agree with both @Beachtastic And @Twiglets. That is a dreadful board with some sinister posters and I mean sinister.

It was much more so in the immediate aftermath of 7/10 and for about a year after. Many of my posts were deleted for pointing out (as politely as I could) that they were simply making up wild and easily disproved inflammatory nonsense. Whole threads gloated over Israeli suffering and were left to stand. Many threads were started and continued with simple cut-and-paste from X/Insta bollocks with no commentary, which surely broke all the rules about spamming, yet they remained for months, attracting more spite and vitriol. Before deleting my account I wrote to MN about this, because I was extremely worried about Hamas infiltration. I get the feeling that at some point much later they might have agreed, or been forced to review this (the offending threads no longer exist, so presumably were retrospectively deleted), but the damage was done. Of course, MN was not the only target. It was this avalanche of malicious disinformation that initially made me so wary of the so-called "pro-Palestinian" marches that were arranged on 7/10 and have continued ever since. Something else is going on here, a war fought by different methods than we are used to seeing. I think the Gaza conflict will go down in history as a watershed in recognising the potential dangers of social media.

@Beachtastic. It was an awful experience to read those posts, so many of which were not taken down. I agree about the dangers of social media/deliberate misinformation. That board is a prime example.

Yes, my kids too. Hide that they are Jewish. Only reveal it to close friends as if it's a dirty secret. One of the DC won't even go to JSoc events as feels it'll be a target.

This is a tricky one because the right to free speech is central to the principles of a fair and enlightened society. However, I'd like to see more prosecutions for hate crimes/incitement. We have been too tolerant of deliberate acts of intimidation such as the aggressive "pro-Palestinian" demos on the anniversary of 7/10. Demonising Israel, in ways that deliberately disrupt the peaceful lives of the tiny Jewish population of this country (and others of course!), seems to have become widespread and applauded. I believe this is being deliberately orchestrated to serve a very specific agenda, and should not be left to unfold without intervention.
