Why is there even a chance of any of these two remaining here in the UK? They had their chance and ended up doing what they did.

We can’t deport British citizens, as much as we might like to sometimes. We’re stuck with them. No choice. But when rapists happen to not be British citizens, there’s nothing wrong with saying they should be deported.

Yeap. Why should another country have to take British rapists?

ThisLittlePony · 08/12/2025 21:27

Morningsleepin · 08/12/2025 21:24

You certainly read a lot into a yawn. They have already been sentenced to prison and will mostly certainly be deported when they are released from prison. Who is saying that should not happen?

Do you not think the “yawn” was reductive and inflammatory?
what else would be the reason for posting a “yawn” on a thread about a young girl who has been raped?

JudgeJ · 08/12/2025 21:31

EasternStandard · 08/12/2025 20:51

Why would you yawn at this crime against a young girl?

I took the Yawn to be because so many posters were having the temerity to be critical of 2 asylum seekers.

Obviously they shouldn't be expected to take British rapists, maybe we need to move to a situation where we apply that logic to our country, why should we take rapists from other countries?

Don't be facetious.

This thread isn't about the poor victim.

This thread is about OPs lack of reading comprehension / trying to manufacture outrage by claiming that these awful people won't be deported when things are already in motion to deport them.

Its cheap clickbait at the victims expense. And more than yawn-worthy.

LaurieFairyCake · 08/12/2025 21:45

They look 17 to me. I want them here, in a proper jail for all of these years. I don’t want them deported as rape is not treated as seriously in the country they come from.

they’ll have a SHIT time in jail, I want them here to enjoy it.

Rosealea · 08/12/2025 21:47

How to say you're a reform farag lacky with ough saying you're a reform farag lacky 🙄

Yaaawn 🥱🥱🥱

You find the rape of children boring?

ScholesPanda · 08/12/2025 21:52

I think they should be deported so YANBU.

I haven't voted though because one has already been served deportation papers and the judge recommended that the other also be deported. So I feel you're being disingenuous to make it sound like they'll stay here.

Cynical, but so many MN threads now trying to whip people up has made me that way I'm afraid.

What’s yawn worthy is your sanctimonious virtue signalling… booo it’s getting boring!

They're 17 (supposedly) I don't know what the establishment they go to will be like, I'm imaging more like a secure children's home than a prison though. I don't think it'll be to terrible (not suggesting it should be terrible). Also, with regard deportation, I think it's far from certain they'll be deported. A awful lot can happen in ten years. Taliban might say they'll execute them on arrival if sent back and regardless of what you think of the death penalty, I think it's unlikely we'd send them back to that. Or Afghanistan might just refuse to have them. Government here will very likely charge before they're out, who know what their stance on deportation of these two will be.
So I think the posters confidently asserting they'll be deported, well, possibly, possibly not.

Think @TheGrimSmile and the supporters of their “yawn” are trying to show off as to how wonderful and accepting they are, and how bored they are with people acknowledging that sometimes asylum seekers may commit criminal acts, and that this is boring as it shouldn’t be acknowledged?

Young offenders institute first it won't be a secure children's home.
Then adult prison at 21 if I mind right.

HRTQueen · 08/12/2025 20:40

I am sure most will agree with you

but turn the subject around two young British men caught selling drugs in Vietnam should they faces the consequences in Vietnam (much tougher jails and many would feel that is what they deserve) or here in the UK (far from comfortable but certainly better conditions than Vietnam )

and shouldn’t Shamima Begum be able to serve her sentence here in the UK

Begum has not been convicted of a crime.

MrsTerryPratchett · 08/12/2025 20:35

They got 10 and 9 years detention, which is a substantial amou t of time. I'd rather they were locked up then deported. I don't want them free, regardless of where they are.

They can serve their sentences then they can fuck off back where they came from😡

They’ll be in a young offenders institute - they’re pretty grim establishments. Worse than adult prisons in many respects mainly because the young men lack the maturity to not want to kill each other at every perceived slight. By the time they get transferred to adult prisons some have calmed down a little.

it won’t be cushy and like a PP said, better they are locked up here than deported to serve short sentences and make their way back to the U.K.

EvangelicalAboutButteredToast · 08/12/2025 22:24

I was reading about this case earlier and one of their barristers talked about a videotape and how if it got out to the general public it would trigger rioting. I wonder if that tape will ever make the light of day?

It’s certainly unusual to find the discussion of the rape of a child boring but here we are. Welcome to 2025 on Mumsnet, ‘by parents , for parents’.

GentleOlive · 08/12/2025 22:35

They’ll serve a few months in prison, walk out, claim a load of benefits, get a free house, fight deportation with taxpayer funded legal aid, live life at the Courtney of the taxpayer and laugh at the mugs who fight for rapists to be brought in and then fight for them to stay in the country.

Welcome to crazy, clown show Britain.

Don’t be so naive. Have the Rochdale rapists been deported?

No, they’re claiming every benefit going, using legal aid to stop being deported and laughing at mugs who advocate for them.
