I last shaved my legs in September and won't shave them again until about April.

I’d hate to have hairy legs but I’m not you.
If you and your partner, if you have one, are fine with it then no drama.

Unfortunately yes as have DD swimming lessons so can’t let the winter plumage grow although I have purchased swim leggings this weekend! Underarms everyday as I feel ick if I don’t!

JoWilkinsonsno1fan · 07/12/2025 23:39

Bottom of the leg every week plus underarm, top of the leg/ bikini line every 2 - 3 weeks - I swim alot and don’t want to frighten people 😂

TheMauveBeaker · 08/12/2025 05:42

No. Nor my pits. We call it my ‘winter covering’ 😂

StarlightLady · 08/12/2025 06:41

Of course you are not being unreasonable to not shave your legs in winter or not shave at all ever; it’s personal choice.

That said, it’s not for me. I continue to shave legs and armpits throughout the year and have regular (every 4 weeks) Hollywood waxes. I feel better about myself for it.

I'm really conflicted around shaving. Society/beauty industry tells us we must/we're more beautiful/attractive when we shave/epilate, , but I hate doing what society expects.
When I don't shave I feel like I'm making my own choice, but don't feel good about myself.
Whichever course of action, I'm not happy with my decision.

Valid point, but let’s not forget that men shave their faces. And an increasing number of men are shaving their underarms.

The two are not the same Personal preferences aside, it’s not considered socially unacceptable and gross for men to have facial or armpit hair.

I accept that about a man’s face but not underarms. In nature hair was to retain the “scent” of the individual, in modern terms that’s BO. How can deodorant be effective if applied over hair? I’ve come across an increasing number of men who remove their underarm hair; more power to them l say, but l digress.

Anti perspirant does work over hair as long as you wash. Personally I find shaved armpits on a man a bit off putting. Like there’s something missing.

TaterTots68 · 08/12/2025 16:36

Yes, ish, once a week when I sort my other bits out but I'm not very thorough over winter. To be honest, I'm not that thorough in the summer either, I always seem to have hairy knees 🤷

Ijwwm · 08/12/2025 17:01

I never shave my armpits. I shave one leg at the start of each summer as I get 3 hairs on one shin.

Ive got an under active thyroid and have never been hairy. I must have saved a fortune over the years!

Partypants83 · 08/12/2025 20:01

No, never shaved anything or depilated it either. I don't have much body hair anyway and what there is is fine and fair
