Do you shave your legs in the winter?

I last shaved my legs in September and won't shave them again until about April.

Yes, probably a couple of times a week. I would be mortified if I ended up in A&E with a broken ankle otherwise 😆.

Clearinguptheclutter · 07/12/2025 08:55

I rarely shave in winter.

FieryA · 07/12/2025 08:56

Yes. I use hair removal cream.

N4ish · 07/12/2025 09:01

All these women worrying about what medical professionals would think if they saw body hair! Believe me, they could not care less. It is normal and healthy for grown adults to have body hair, if a HCP is surprised or disgusted by that they’re in the wrong profession.

Nope, I never shave, even in summer.

I hate it that the beauty standard is for women to look like a prepubescent girl.

As opposed to a gorilla?

Pineapplewaves · 07/12/2025 09:05

Yes because I find that the hairs just stick through your tights eventually (I have dark hair that grows quickly), also people notice when you sit down and cross your legs and your jeans ride up and DP would find it a turn off!

I hate that people bring out "looking like a prepubescent girl" everytime there's a thread that mentions women shaving.

I can promise that I still look like an adult woman, despite shaving.

Me too.

If shaving my legs makes me look pre pubescent then how come I never get asked for ID to purchase alcohol?

I shave my legs every day and yet noone has mistaken me for a school girl - why is that?

marmaladeteal · 07/12/2025 09:06

Of course I do

Zanatdy · 07/12/2025 09:06

Yes but only once a week in winter

Oldraver · 07/12/2025 09:07

I gave up shaving my legs altogether a few years ago

And yes I have been body shamed for it

LOL right? I am in my 40s, if all it took for me to look instantly young again was to shave my legs then that would be bloody fantastic.

I would save a fortune on botox!

Pepperedpickles · 07/12/2025 09:14

I don’t shave my legs full stop. Just can’t be bothered anymore - I’m 45. I never wear skirts and in the summer when I wear shorts no one gets close enough to see my hairy legs so really couldn’t care less. I always used to when I was younger though. Each to their own.

YourZippyHare · 07/12/2025 09:21

Sometimes. Same as in summer - sometimes, according to my mood.

I don't even shave my armpits in winter but they usually aren't exposed. I was putting the deccies up the other day though and was particularly hot so changed into a vest top. I told my husband I had big dick energy and my armpits were hairer than his and showed him and he said it looked like an ink cartridge had exploded under my armpit 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Are you not intimate with your DH in the winter months either? I'm just wondering why you had to show him the hairy pits, has he not seen them in the last few months?

Yuck !
Is your husband not turned off by hair ?
I’m single & keep everywhere shaved no matter what the season , if it was only for hygiene reasons alone .

TubeScreamer · 07/12/2025 09:26

Yes, pretty much every day. I hate the prickly, itchy leg feeling if I don’t shave.

Notmyreality · 07/12/2025 09:27

No, I get someone else to do it.

Really? My DH couldn’t care less what I do about my body hair. Whatever I do is fine by him.

I dont remember my husband ever mentioning my legs hair or not

BlueEyedBogWitch · 07/12/2025 09:35

Do men who shave their faces get accused of trying to look like pre-pubescent boys?

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Might as well just please yourself.

Handeyethingyowl · 07/12/2025 09:36

I get a half leg wax while getting my eyelashes dyed now as I am lazy. But I don’t often bother in winter. I am rarely bare-legged and my medical appointment
embarrassment scale went out of the window when I gave birth.

YouHaveAnArse · 07/12/2025 09:37

Don't shave, don't give a fuck. And won't until men are expected to spend time, effort and pain removing all their body hair.

khfippjjj · 07/12/2025 09:37

Yes as I play a sport with a kit which shows leg, it’s not much effort though, I’m lucky to have very fine light hair that only needs shaving once a week, if that.

YouHaveAnArse · 07/12/2025 09:39

You do you if you like shaving, though. Personally I think armpit hair on women looks pretty cool. (If you think 'ew, gross' but wouldn't were it a man, ask yourself why)

MightyGoldBear · 07/12/2025 09:41

I shave all year round it's a sensory element for me. I want to scratch my skin off if its hairy. I'm hoping to laser it all when I can afford. I'd most welcome any epilator recommendations.
