Do you believe the pyramids or The sphinx were built by the ancient Egyptians?
I’m just watching Egypt’s Secret code and Bradley Walsh isn’t accepting this theory, my husband believes it was Aliens.
I don’t know what I think really, please discuss, Share your thoughts.

There’s a view that there might have been an advanced, ancient civilisation & some kind of cataclysmic event that wiped out all evidence.

But for some utterly incomprehensible reason, that advanced, ancient civilisation was not Ancient Egyptian? -Yep, more gullible drivel...

There was indeed a terraqueous cataclysm, which hit the eastern Mediterranean in the late Bronze age, destroying the great Minoan civilisation that had flourished across the region for centuries.
Multiple catastrophes (of harvests, earthquake, weather, climate, warfare etc) all struck at once and acting in combination these wiped out the Minoans entirely. Irresistible force.
This power and trade vacuum inevitably had a great effect on Egyptian civilisation, which only narrowly avoided this great regional upheaval.

We must not overlook the Justified Ancients of Mu. We just mustn’t, ok?

Morningsleepin · 06/12/2025 03:47

People in the past were just as intelligent as people now, they just had different technologies and priorities

Teaandcake01 · 06/12/2025 03:54

Give your husband a day out to the British Museum for his Christmas present. He can visit all the ancient Egyptian galleries & talk to the staff & volunteers there about any questions has. It might also be useful for him to see the other galleries, to see how the ancient Greeks & Romans managed such massive engineering projects.

Or maybe we have just given our knowledge over to computing.
Absolutely no reason why the pyramids cannot be entirely made by humans, just because modern humanity can't build a high-speed railway line because of idiocy and corruption.
Egyptians had the mathematical knowledge and the manpower to hand.
See Cologne Cathedral, York Minster, the Duomo in Florence.

Like what? Levitation? Morphic resonance?

Surely something to do with super-piezo electronics, generated by the granite sarcophagi ⚡ I may have got that a bit wrong: it came from some lockdown time-wasting, but it's good as the rest of this nonsense.

Modern machinery wouldn't struggle at all to build the pyramids.

Yup. Not understanding science and technology appears to be common among conspiracy folk.

Is that the crowd that were defeated by the Knights that say Ni, in the fabled battle of the small shrubbery ?

No, these chaps were far more justified than that lot.
They drove an icecream van, (though they also had a classic American cop car.)
They called up Tammy Wynette in Tennessee to ask her to stand by the JAMS, such was their great power. Even so, in 1987 they asked What The Fuck was going on, so it’s clear even they had the odd wobble.
So they burnt a million quid, and also scared Jarvis Cocker one evening.
But they never, as is clear from all the known fragmentary annals, ever uttered ‘Ni’. Not even when taunted.

(They remain one of my top bands of all time. I’m a crazed fan, despite being far too old for all that kind of carry on)

The Brits.
Kilt.
Cigar.
Extreme Noise Terror.
Machine gunning the crowd.
Sublime genius.

Health and safety though.
Working at height regulations alone would make the pyramids difficult.
Working time directive would mean it would be prohibitively expensive to staff.
Unions would kick off about the heat and sand.
And the Sphinx is catcist.
Which is racist, but against cats.
No wonder the Egyptians went extinct.

Oi, they didn’t become extinct.
Colin Farrell Alexander the Great conquered Egypt, and henceforth the country was ruled by the Ptolemies, but Egyptian culture still throve, until Rome stomped on its tender bits and Elizabeth Taylor took her eye off the boil and that was that. But by heck they had a brilliant run, those Egyptians.
(I reckon it was the cats’ influence which made Egypt a supreme and lasting culture)

And your husband is an Egyptologist yes? Or at the very least an archaeologist/historian very familiar with the period? Or is just Dave with a few beers in pontificating about something he knows nothing about?

Friday night example of had a few too many!

I've always wondered how many poor men lost their life's building those things and I've always wondered where the need to build the first pyramids came from, why someone had that idea and then tons of people went along with it.

But they never went extinct. They are still there, in Egypt.

Apart from the ones who hijacked a Cylon starship and headed off find the stargate hidden in the Betamax galaxy.

Egypt had a food surplus because of the Nile. So plenty of time to do stuff.

Well, you wouldn't have believed that 'robots' when you asked them today why No 14 Sycamore Drive, Sheffield was refused planning permission to extend in 2003' would come out with reams of (probably) correct information for you.

Humans can do a lot.

At some point in the future humans will say what the hell did they do wrong in the 20th/21st century - things were going so well post WW2

I’m actually in Ciaro right now and visited the pyramids and the new museum the other day.

Does your husband know that before we had technology we had this thing called intelligence.

The ancient Egyptians (and may other ancient civilisations) were highly intelligent mathematicians and engineers, couple that with workers who actually worked and toiled all day and bam you have the pyramids!!

Gardener82 · 05/12/2025 23:15

Why my husband thinks it’s aliens..

  1. The weight and size of the blocks that were used were around 10 tonnes. Modern machinery would struggle.
  2. Precision of the stone cuts.
  3. Sculptures in Dolerite and Granite, the symmetry in the carvings wouldn’t have been possible with the tools available.

We used to watch Ancient Aliens.
We think they were built using anti gravity technology 👽
They match up with orion's belt constellation.
find it all fascinating!
