Being marginalised does not mean that other people have to give up their rights to accommodate everything you want. It is the most vulnerable and marginalised women who have the most to lose when we pretend men can become women. Women in prison, in domestic violence shelters, the orthodox religious, the sick and disabled and so on.

But no, I dont see that men who like to present as women are particularly vulnerable - much less the 'most marginalised' narrative that we have been fed.

Gay men are marginalised because they're gay not because they're men. If a man is marginalised it will never be on account of being a man. This is what is meant by 'men are not a marginalised group', not that no man can ever have another characteristic in addition to being a man that means he is marginalised.

It's perfectly obvious that the comment was about men and boys in comparison with women and girls.

There are lots of reasons a group might be marginalised - e.g. sexuality, ethnicity, religious belief or lack of it, poverty, disability, age, social class.

Having a trans identity has led to a great deal of positive attention in recent years for some people, principally male. The balance is now shifting back a bit so that the needs of other marginalised groups are considered as well, and a good thing too.

The nastiness and continuous portrayal of being self imagined crusaders by posters who frequent these threads is nauseating, tiresome and concerning. We’re talking about a marginalised group of people who don’t have it easy. Some human kindness wouldn’t go amiss.

Some just pile on with self congratulatory nastiness all day. One does have to wonder if they actually have lives aside from doling out vileness - on a loop saying the same old shite.

It's the best thing the WI have done in a long time and I'm appalled at the Directors thinking otherwise . They should check with their membership . Everyone in my local WI agrees it's for women only and should not include men dressed as women or who think they're women or want to be women.
