What the heck! Trans women get periods apparently

AIBU that this is the most ridiculous thing for a company to claim.

"Can a transgender woman have a period? Absolutely. Many trans and gender-diverse people menstruate. Whether you’re a woman, a man, non-binary or agender, your body may menstruate too."

Could the marketeer behind this be a terf queen, diverting $ from the pockets of delusional TiMs into R&D for products for actual women?

catontheironingboard · 21/11/2025 13:25

Littlejellyuk · 21/11/2025 13:23

How is this violent?
I honestly don't understand? 😕

Can someone please clarify?

@Littlejellyuk Gender ideologists claim that being misgendered is a form of violence that is just as violent to the person as actual violence is. (Don’t ask us why, we don’t make the gender rules 🤷‍♀️)

orangemapleleaves · 21/11/2025 13:26

Given that they link to the period pants twice, it's a basic marketing exercise targeting a very niche market using highly specific keywords

GROSS.

Burnnoticed · 21/11/2025 13:26

Many trans women have periods. Some trans women don’t have uteruses, so they won’t bleed as part of a monthly menstrual cycle. But the hormonal experience of menstruation can still be very real
so the company are accepting that trans women without uteruses (ie all of them) might experience hormonal swings but no bleeding, and then they still want to try to sell their bleeding-related products to trans women?
Not sure if that's the ultimate in cynicism or pure genius.

Is this our current deputy Prime Minister?

Yep, this is where we are as a country 😱

ThatCyanCat · 21/11/2025 13:27

roseyposey · 21/11/2025 13:25

Is this our current deputy Prime Minister?

Yeah. Formerly Foreign Secretary. Thank God he was our emissary for peace in the Middle East, eh?

intrepidpanda · 21/11/2025 13:27

Thank you for that. I have always been a bit ignorant of this. This helps and makes a bit more sense now

MavisBarrel · 21/11/2025 13:28

catontheironingboard · 21/11/2025 12:50

FFS. However, as I was just poised to buy some new period pants for DD, this is very useful as I will definitely buy from a different brand. Thanks, Modibodi, for clarifying my decision not to buy from you! 👍

[Honestly, do they not know their market? How many “gender diverse” customers do they have compared to mums buying pants for themselves and their daughters? Go woke go broke as they say.]

Argh I feel the same but theirs are way better than any other we have tried !! Do I need to try wuka ? Please recommend as this is not making me want to be a loyal customer .. idiots !

It's the one thing that as a woman if I had the power to give it to a man I absolutely would. If you want to spend a week every month cramping, bleeding, headachey and nauseous and dealing with the absolute joy that is period shits by God here you go, take it from me.

Alas with all the will in the world, it's not to be.

I totally agree, should be compulsory for any of these men wanting to be a woman.
I bet 99% of them would change their minds pdq.
Full on dysmenorrhea with nausea and diarrhoea would be non negotiable, every month for at least 7 days.

Lalgarh · 21/11/2025 13:28

"Why isn’t the medical community looking into this phenomenon?"

Spoke too soon. They are already appropriating the disparity in how females symptoms are ignored

Could always ram a tampon up their penis I guess?

WearyAuldWumman · 21/11/2025 13:29

Oh. Have now caught up the thread. That explains a lot.

Re: period underwear. M&S period pants have improved. (I'm ancient, but I had problems with my HRT and uterine polyps plus hyperplasia until it was sorted out last year.)

Happyjoe · 21/11/2025 13:30

Ha, real, hard facts are deemed as negotiable now and is why the human race is bollocked.

LeaderBee · 21/11/2025 13:30

briq · 21/11/2025 13:04

Grow a uterus! 😂 I wish it were possible to magically grow new, healthy organs as needed!

It does make me wonder though, when they're eventually going to try transplant a uterus into a man.

roseyposey · 21/11/2025 13:23

Reminds me of that total freak who should not be allowed within 100 miles of any child man who said he could breastfeed his baby with the chemical concoction he squeezed from his nipples [vom-tastic]

That man should be in jail

AngelinaFibres · 21/11/2025 13:30

charcoalandsugar · 21/11/2025 12:57

Apparently they do cramp just not bleed. I wonder what is cramping then?

Twinging balls probably

Ghostmartin · 21/11/2025 13:31

Zippedydodah · 21/11/2025 13:29

Could always ram a tampon up their penis I guess?

Tampax will be using that as a marketing ploy next

I recommend Wuku. DD says they’re better.

BarbaraBadger · 21/11/2025 13:32

MidnightPatrol · 21/11/2025 12:45

I mean, they’re obviously wrong, but they’re in the business of selling period pants and I suppose this expands their market of potential customers.

You're probably right- the fetishists will be queuing up.

Cabinqueen · 21/11/2025 13:32

InterestedDad37 · 21/11/2025 12:48

Maybe it's a spelling mistake, for 'manstruate' (which involves a high degree of literal bollocks)

🤣🤣🤣

Trans women’s periods are not well understood just yet

No shit! By you modibodi!

Edited

It is not well understood that they don't exist.

TangoWhiskeyAlphaTango1 · 21/11/2025 13:35

Do trans women have periods?

Many trans women have periods. Some trans women don’t have uteruses, so they won’t bleed as part of a monthly menstrual cycle. But the hormonal experience of menstruation can still be very real.

So they have periods but don't menstruate and they are flogging pants to soak up blood - please somebody make it make sense.

EasternStandard · 21/11/2025 13:35

I mean they don’t. How can they say absolutely to that question? It’s ridiculous.

Lalgarh · 21/11/2025 13:35

TheKeatingFive · 21/11/2025 13:30

The BBC report thread notes they covered this. Report from NHS Sussex University hospital trust (covers Brighton?) that TW breast milk was every bit as healthy as female breast milk.
