Thats it really, the BBC lied to us, all of us.

They edited a Trump speech to make him look like he said something he did not.

They pushed one side of the transgender debate relentlessly, deliberately hiding negative stories on detransitioners, the US WPATH file and thousands of more cases

https://archive.ph/wWdMS

https://archive.ph/uiEKW

They have cancelled people for wrong-think at every opportunity, pushed drag queens over women, turned woman hours into mens hour, constantly attacked anyone who does not share their extreme liberal left wing views and kept them off the news cycle

They have utterly and completely lost all trust, they ARE biased they DON'T give balance in the news

Everyone thought it was a conspiracy, now we know it's actually true and we have PROOF

Today the BBC Director and News Director have both quit in absolute disgrace.

It is time the BBC was consigned to the dustbin because we are never getting back to the BBC I loved and trusted, the one that ran programmes to inform and entertain and educate, that BBC is long gone.

Replace it, completely.

Davie says "there have been some mistakes made and as director general I have to take ultimate responsibility".

😭😭 i'd say its fairly reliable

Yes errors in judgement exist, which have affected both sides of the political realm (anyone remember the picture of Jeremy corbyn on newsnight?) But its very good and we shouldn't be getting rid of it

The funding model should certainly be looked at.

i think the individuals in question, as well as the bosses, should face punitive fines. They were in jobs paid by the taxpayer and should return some of the salaries they didn’t deserve. Utterly humiliating for the UK and the BBC.

Never mind humiliating. Playing silly buggers with fickle world.leaders is dangerous. At very least, it may end up cosring millions if Trump sues. It will bolster his claims about 'fake news'.

Papyrophile · 09/11/2025 21:32

I am happy to continue paying for the BBC. It's not as impartial as it thinks it is, but that's because the editorial staff aren't either.

Namechanged999999 · 09/11/2025 21:32

NHS bbc and dwp are all captured by idiotic trans ideology. Where women have to strip off in front off men otherwise they are sacked and transphobed.

TheKeatingFive · 09/11/2025 21:35

mumofoneAloneandwell · 09/11/2025 21:30

I disagree

Without the bbc setting the standard for journalism (yes there are errors) we will have murdoch's lot completely taking over and fake, unreliable news everywhere

Some things should be protected - nhs, bbc, dwp 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

But the BBC are themselves spreading fake news. They cannot hold themselves up as a bastion of facts and values while doing this.

I think as a women there is nothing i can say that will be noticed. That’s that then.

One person made an incorrect edit - the bbc is not 'unreliable'

Wasnt the general opinion that trump was encouraging the January attacks? I cant remember now as I dont care 😭 but I am sure he was

Yes he was.

im so mad trump looking like the victim and he wont stop going on about it now

even though we all know what he meant

This is the problem. Because the BBC lied or deliberately misled with the Trump story, it means when there is a big, true story it will be watered down. Reasonable deniability.

Think of the click bait headlines they currently use.
Think how Strictly results and Traitors are on the front news page.
Think how the headlines don’t match or summarise the articles.

it didn’t used to be like this. You used to be able to trust it.

I have a particular view on the conflict between Trans rights and Women’s rights. I followed the Sandy Peggie v Fife Employment Tribunal and read the TT reports word for word. The headlines by the BBC distorted what was said, so it misrepresented rather than informed. If they did it with a story I had followed very carefully, how many others did they do this to? When they go along this route, it means I cannot be sure they are not distorting everything. I can no longer trust them.

We already have fake news everywhere, the DG of the BBC has just resigned because of the fake news put out by the BBC.

HellsBalls · 09/11/2025 21:40

@mumofoneAloneandwell ’One person made an incorrect edit - the bbc is not 'unreliable'’

No, a deliberately malicious edit.
I hope Trump does sue. He can stand up and say ‘fake news’ with the evidence to back it up.

mumofoneAloneandwell · 09/11/2025 21:40

People pushed back against gay rights, and i am sure that many at the bbc disagreed with them, but the coverage wasnt suddenly anti gay

Trans rights are coming in. Its happening, and they cannot be seen to be against that 🤷‍♀️

My personal opinion is that trans women arent the biggest threat to women, but that men and the wealthy are

Gay men and wealthy celebs use surrogates to have their babies - noone high profile is complaining

Because an incorrect edit was made by someone 😭

Sorry that does not mean that the bbc is a harbour of fake news

Namechanged999999 · 09/11/2025 21:42

Yes fake news re Sandi peggi and the Darlington nurses. No one even cares about that. BBC wouldn’t even report it properly as it deserved. Guardian as well. No one that i previously trusted actually stood up !!!! It’s so disgusting. What happened is so disgusting. Along with many other nhs cases where women were trashed. Misogyny on same scale as bloody metropolitan police. The world is unsafe for women. You go be ashamed of yourself.

jan2310 · 09/11/2025 21:45

I’m disgusted. I grew up with the BBC, I was taught to respect them. Their coverage of national events has been impeccable. This is disgraceful and I resent so much having to fund disgraceful lying about the leader of another democracy (much as I dislike Trump).

ClareBlue · 09/11/2025 21:46

MaturingCheeseball · 09/11/2025 20:27

The hiring practices have been very suspect. Recruiting only candidates who fit the approved profile.

The BBC website, when it began, was a tremendous thing. Gradually it became flippin’ Ripley’s Believe It Or Not; endless front-page articles on Trans issues. I deleted it.

Yes, they have become a self perpetuating echo chamber of progressive social beliefs based on an ideological dogma. The universities and courses they recruit from establish and embed the beliefs, promotion is based on successful conforming to the beliefs and descent is dealt with swiftly and marginalised. It is so embedded that those that cut and pasted Trump's speech won't have seen an issue with it, because the message they wanted to get across about Trump was the important issue, and how they achieved it was irrelevant. Same with the Hamas documentary. If they want to seriously change the culture they need to look at how and where they recruit staff from, how they look at progression within their organisation and the bias of key decision makers.
Not many organisations can, or are prepared to, do this of their size.

This is what happens when you don't maintain your flux capacitor properly. You've ended up in 2025, not 2018. We'll wait while you catch up. If you try again and accidentally end up a billion years before now, men still won't be able to become women no matter how they feel about it.

Heyhelga · 09/11/2025 21:48

BBC should be defunded anyway before this latest scandal. It's viewing figures are tumbling and have been for a long time now in the streaming age. The vast majority of people are simply not watching the BBC - it's flagship shows such as EastEnders and Match of the Day barely scrape 4m viewers out of 70m odd population and the stats are even worse from the younger generations. Yes there are some transmission infrastructure costs attached to the TV licence around 20-30% I believe, so just add that sum to streaming platforms as a tax.

Hoardasurass · 09/11/2025 21:48

GaIadriel · 09/11/2025 20:26

Editing somebody's speech to make it look like they said something else is pretty bad tbh. Like, imagine if they showed JKR apparently saying something extremely prejudiced against trans people which she didn't actually say. Where would they draw the line if not challenged and is this even the first time?

No its not. There was a whole thing about them editing footage of the late Queen so it looked like she stormed off stage at some event, and then theres the whole basher (sp) Diana stuff. They've been corrupt for decades

You've literally not read what they have done then have you. They lied. Again and again and again. They are not fit for purpose.
