I’m a female in my 30s.

Thus year I’ve gone down 5 stone from 12.5 stone to 7.5 stone (skinny minny!!)

The way I’ve sing this stick to 1300 calories a day and do one form of exercise a day e.g running for half hour or swimming for half hour or aerobics class.

I’ve also had a crush on a bloke in work and one thing definitely kept me on track with the diet/ exercise plan was saying to myself
“ if I stick to this plan today, I’ll be a bit lighter/fitter when I see John.” / this way of thinking has REALLY helped!! If you haven’t got a ‘John’ as it were, pretend that you do in a figurative sense.

how I stop myself from cheating in the evening is looking at TV programmes I want to watch or magazines/ newspapers I like. And any treats - going to spa at local leisure centre etc - anything that takes my mind away from eating!

Hope this helps at least one person in some way!

Rude.

Its not rude
Shes insinuating that its because of the guy she has to lose weight
Because shes clearly one of these growing factions of women who like to blame the world's ills on men (i could quite confidently describe her appearance from her demeanour - but I wont as THAT WOULD be rude)

Its textbook (and pathetic)
Maybe, just maybe the OP is a little overweight and wants to lose weight for herself to feel better and actually be healthier

I’m definitely not jealous. Just incredulous that so many people are congratulating op for her supermarket sandwiches and Diet Coke weight loss, which is as daft as it is dangerous. Since when do we congratulate stupidity?

100% this. I don't envy the OP at all. Her 'diet' sounds dreadful, and the weight she claims to be would be far too low for me. I would look ill at that weight, and it will be impossible to maintain...

It's such a naff and lazy argument to accuse women of being jealous of other women when they make the slightest negative comment about them. 🙄

And why on earth should any woman be jealous of another woman losing weight to attract a man? Confused

And like you said in another post @SwingTheMonkey I have no idea why some posters are celebrating the OP.

SemiRetiredLoveGoddeess · 04/11/2025 20:14

Put on loads of weight due to health, mobility problem..Arse busting out of trousers l bought for Xmas.

Can you send John round to me when you have finished with him.

Well done on your weight loss.

If you do feel a bit peckish. Ryvitas made a good low calories snack.
Do.they still sell them?

Did you not read the OP's first post? Trying to get 'John' at work to fancy her was the driving force behind her losing weight. She went on to say that the thought of him fancying her was keeping her going on her weight loss journey! She also said that John likes women thin and pretty, so he is much more likely to go for her.

Ergo; she DID lose the weight ...... for a MAN.

Are you aware how unlikeable you come across? Genuinely wondering…
(not jealous as I’m also a ‘slim pretty girl’ but just wonder if you have any self-awareness?)

What really? I thought she sounds fun and quirky...

Anyhow, well done OP, but try to get off the UPFs, they're really bad for you and make you fatter too. And taste worse.

Anyhow I'm inspired to start being strict again.

You're incorrect and incredibly unattractive from a personal point of view

andanotherproblem · 04/11/2025 20:20

Ok but what did you eat? Did you eat what you want within those calories or set meals?

andanotherproblem · 04/11/2025 20:20

Also bloody well done

It’s quite easy to read all of OP’s posts, even if you don’t want to read the full thread.

Op ate a supermarket sandwich for breakfast and one for lunch. No dinner. Lots of Diet Coke. Super healthy and an inspiration for us all…

Exactly. It's bizarre for anyone to celebrate this in any way at all. And as I said, it's bizarre that people are cheering on a woman losing weight, and dropping to a weight that will be hard to maintain - for a MAN.

What happens if he does fancy her at 7 and a half stone (as he likes thin women!) and then she regains the weight?! (And she will regain some of it, as her weight is low now, and her way of eating is unhealthy, and she is not eating enough healthy, decent food..)

I have known women (as I said earlier in the thread) who started dating a man when they were thin (the woman that is) and the man was attracted to her because she was thin, and she was NOT allowed to gain weight. He told her in no uncertain terms that she would be binned if she gained a single ounce.

Not a position I would like to be in.

Also name change fail?

Moodlable4045 · 04/11/2025 22:11

Amazing weight loss, but what about being trim and also jacked, strong and ready for anything? Surely the idea that eating minimal amounts and doing cardio isnt the only way to lose weight? Intermittent fasting and serious consistent weight training is also a viable (and possibly more sustainable) approach. Cut out beige foods, up your protein and you’ll lose weight regardless. Being ‘skinny fat’ isn’t the answer

Im ok with the drama label tbh, when it’s something as serious as promoting an eating disorder. Still have no idea what you mean about a name change fail. An advance search on my name is easy enough and will show that I’ve been posting for ages 🙄

Horses7 · 04/11/2025 22:17

Well done! 👍

HeyThereDelila · 04/11/2025 22:23

7.5 stone is very underweight. You need to gain a stone at least.

eastegg · 04/11/2025 22:39

BatchCookBabe · 03/11/2025 17:11

Ta anyway @NadineQueue but I'll pass. I'm only an inch taller than you, and no WAY would I want to be 7 and a half stone. I look my best at between 9 stone, and 9 and a half stone. I have been under 8 stone in the past, and looked gaunt and ill. People were constantly asking me if I was OK.

You seem proud of being skinny, with your 'skinny minny' comment. Your weight loss doesn't sound healthy, (5 stone in 9 months.) If it was 5 stone in 9 months and you had gone from 22 stone to 17 stone, that may have been okay-ish, but 12 and a half stone isn't very heavy. It's heavy for 5 ft 1 of course, but not very heavy. So losing 5 stone in 9 months when you only started at 12 and a half stone, is too fast a weight loss. And your weight sounds too low now.

7 and a half stone might be too low for you, but you’re wrong to tell OP it’s too low for her. I’m 3 inches taller than OP and 7.5 st wouldn’t be too low for me, although I’m a bit more than that these days. Much depends on overall build. Big boobs for example, are going to increase what the right weight for a person is, whereas I’m flat chested.

In the same way you’d look ill at 7 and a half, I’d look like a fat pear at 9 and a half. But I wouldn’t come on a thread and say it’s not the right weight for you.

I don’t know why people jumped on this, I agree. It’s really patronising. I’ve lost seven stone and am also under 8 stone now, but I wouldn’t ever judge people who couldn’t.

eastegg · 04/11/2025 22:48

HeyThereDelila · 04/11/2025 22:23

7.5 stone is very underweight. You need to gain a stone at least.

What are you basing that on? You’re wrong. I’ve put it into an nhs calculator and it’s a healthy weight.

Would you be so quick to tell someone they were ‘very overweight’, if they were actually in the healthy range?

I knew there would be a load of pathetic skinny shaming on this thread. So boring and depressing to be proved right.

Catherineeee · 04/11/2025 22:50

WildLimePoet · 04/11/2025 19:02

Not only do you sound ridiculous, but also a little jealous.

i don’t think this sounds ridiculous. It’s true. Surely we should be losing weight for ourselves, not because we want to be with a man who only dates skinny women?

OP , I didn’t read about the foods you ate until now …
You can eat healthy & be nice & slim ..
Breakfast could be porridge with seeds & berries , honey ..Scram egg & whole meal toast .Whole meal toast with bannana & peanut butter ..
Greek yogurt with seeds & berries , honey to sweeten .. All very quick to make before work in morning..

Lunch , Beef/Chicken/ Tuna brown sandwich or Salad ..
You could prepare these night before & bring to work with you ..

Dinner , Chicken fillets with veg & baby potatoes..
Fish with veg & baby potatoes ..
Chicken or Beef stir fry with vegetables..
I’m just naming meals that are healthy & quick when you come from work in the evening ..
You’ll be much more likely to stick to diet aswel if you have a healthy eating plan .. x
