Partners daughter and her mother a nightmare

Itsmebee · 03/11/2025 12:01

It’s a long one…

partner had a child when he was 15. He had nothing to do with the child or mother but through the years when he got with me they always tried to cause trouble. He tried to have a relationship but her side of the family hated it so he left it. Been in contact on and off since she was 15 and it’s been nothing but a nightmare( she’s 20 ) They don’t want anything to do with our children at all. They constantly cause trouble and think money grows on trees. I’ve supported oh all the way through but I’m always to blame if it doesn’t go right. Fast forward and she’s had a child. After years of abuse and threats we are starting to have a relationship. Again they hate our other children dont want to know them. Keep pushing ideas on expensive days out with grandchild. Phone calls consist of mother and daughter bringing up the past and trying to cause problems, or try to make out I’m the best person ever. They record everything use stuff against us and I’m so done with it all. I pay for everything and I’m fed up. I go and get involved but I don’t feel like they really want me there. They would be happy for other half to go alone. This happened in the past but he ended up cheating with her mother. Should I shrug it all off and just be happy with the situation or not. We have been together for a very long time and this has always been a problem.

He shagged his first child's mother behind your back. Why are you still with him?! Let alone paying for stuff and putting up with abuse. It does all sound very Jeremy Kyle.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 03/11/2025 14:16

What career has he got now @Itsmebee

If he's working and earning well, why are you paying for everything?

sandyhappypeople · 03/11/2025 14:19

Why isn't he paying for trips and gifts for his child? He's got a good career and always paid child support.. why would you be paying all that out to people that are vile to you and you're not even sure that this child is his!

I'd never forgive a partner cheating with an ex, especially not an ex who was harassing you all the time.. it's like he's on their side.

Lobleylimlam · 03/11/2025 14:19

Im not sure what you want from this thread op. Everyone is telling you near enough the same thing. If things are being normalised as you say, then you need to be the one to make changes.
Delete facebook. You dont need it, nobody does, a life free of social media is great. Block every time they contact. Change your number and only give to people who need it. Record everything and take out a restraining order once you have enough evidence. Hold your partner accountable for literally making this worse for sleeping with the ex. The best thing you can do here is leave the situation entirely. You literally do not have to deal with any of this! This will not get better and will only get worse so the choice is yours. You cant make anyone else do anything but you can control what YOU do here.

Fargo79 · 03/11/2025 14:20

What is it that you're hoping to get from this thread, OP?

Everyone else here can see what a feckless loser your partner is. Everyone else here can see very clearly why the woman he impregnated as a schoolgirl and left holding the baby, and the baby he abandoned and couldn't be arsed to establish a relationship with, are obviously angry and hostile towards him. Everyone else can see through the bollocks sob story of "he tried so hard to be part of her life" when he didn't try hard enough, clearly, if he could afford to start a brand new family with you. Everyone else can see he's taking you for a ride financially and emotionally. Everyone else can see that he has no respect or love for any of the women or children embroiled in this disgraceful mess.

You are determined to make excuses for him and lap up his fantasy tales about why he couldn't have been a proper dad. You are determined to blame the child he abandoned and her mother. You don't hold him accountable for his actions.

So what's the point of the thread?

Butterflywings84 · 03/11/2025 14:21

This is all very bizarre. Does he actually want a relationship with any of them or is he just doing it for peace? And it doesn’t sound like that is working in any event. Whichever it is I don’t get why you are funding it - you still haven’t explained that in your posts. What’s your relationship like otherwise? You have said you might leave him - just over this or are things bad otherwise?

Crochetandtea · 03/11/2025 14:21

Lock down your Facebook. Use middle names and generic pics. Block their phone numbers and have nothing more to do with either of them. Some women will make it impossible for a father to see a child and what 15 year old knows anything about taking someone to court for a child they didn’t want which may not even be his???
A 20 year old doesn’t need financial support. That ends at 18. If she is old enough to have her own child then she’s old enough to work to pay for said child. I’d walk away quite happily from this shit show. Send her a card and some cash at birthdays and Christmas.

Itsmebee · 03/11/2025 13:51

He paid from when she was born what he had then he got a good career and paid out of that. I’m not asking for sympathy as yes he is in the wrong with what he’s done and let happen. Both of us have tried to sort it out. I think he just thinks let’s just get on with it and have peace.

And what exactly did falling back into her mothers bed, having a secret relationship with his daughter have to do with keeping the peace?

You honestly need serious therapy because you have no recognition of what is actually happening.

Paying a couple of hundred quid a month is honestly the least of your problems.

Whatwerewetalkingabout · 03/11/2025 14:23

OP, stop paying for everything, block them and make him see them alone. However if he can't be trusted to not shag his ex without you there physically stopping him, maybe you should consider LTB?

MissMoneyFairy · 03/11/2025 14:25

Itsmebee · 03/11/2025 13:30

No don’t want that at all. They are truly vile. I smile and be nice get them birthday and Christmas presents. Never talk bad of them at all. I’ve tried and they just throw abuse

Why bother then, why would you spend money on people who hate you, the ex and her daughter and granddaughter are not your responsibility so just block them, keep all their messages and record what you can, if it continues keep telling the police.

WhyamIinahandcartandwherearewegoing · 03/11/2025 14:27

This is such nonsense @Itsmebee why the hell do you pay for this stuff? Why don’t you just let the cheating bollox pay for his own kids? Or they go without. Simple.

arethereanyleftatall · 03/11/2025 14:28

Your life is a result of choices YOU have made op, no one else.

YOU chose to stay with him even when you were getting abuse. You could and should have walked away.

you could leave this relationship if you choose to, and start a new one just you and your children.

im not sure why you keep going on about fake Facebook accounts etc, just block them and shut down your own Facebook accounts etc surely?

myglowupera · 03/11/2025 14:32

The lot of them are just one big shit show. Why would you stay involved? You and your children deserve better!

And so what if the daughter doesn’t want anything to do with your children? See it as a blessing! Once she’s got a grip and has got over herself a bit she’ll hopefully realise how stupid she sounded when she was 20. Unless she just grows up in to one of these really angry adults who plays poor me for their whole life. In which case, yep your kids will definitely be better off without her!

ThreePointOneFourOneFiveNine · 03/11/2025 14:46

Are you absolutely certain he’s not in a relationship with the mother and you are the other woman?

PirateDays · 03/11/2025 14:58

The child is 20 now, an adult and a mother herself, your partner doesn't need to have any contact at all with the 'ex' (if you can call someone you had a baby with at 15 that) - why does he?

Just block her, he doesn't need to give her any money either. He should just deal directly with his daughter.

LuncheonInThePark · 03/11/2025 15:32

@Itsmebee I have to agree with the consensus, it's your 'D'H you need to get rid of for all the reasons pp have mentioned, so no point in me repeating them.

What I did want to ask, though, is what your upbringing was like? I know you've said you've come from a good background, but on paper so did I. Emotionally however, it wasn't great.

Your story sounds very similar to mine with my ex-DP. I actually made myself ill always trying to do the right thing, be the 'good guy'.

Really, my self esteem was through the floor and that's exactly what yours sounds like.

They are ALL taking the piss out of you. None of them (including your husband) respect you.

You can provide your children with a good life, so do that - by yourself. Get yourself away from this toxic shit show. Work on WHY you think you deserve this sort of treatment.

Your H does not have your back. He is also lying about how bad his ex is or he wouldn't have slept with her. I mean, she is bad if she is harassing you obviously, but your H doesn't seem to think that's a problem. I'm sorry to sound harsh but he does not care about your feelings at all. He is quite happy for you t get abuse and still pay. Turn up at things with the woman he pretends to think is 'vile' but slept with.

How low are you down on his priority list that someone who has supposedly caused him all this heartache, is more important than you? He would risk his life with you and your children to sleep with someone he despises??

Get rid. I did and I then found my backbone and have never let anyone treat me like that since.

As for police, it is against the law to harass someone - there doesn't need to be threats - they've fobbed you off because they're busy and you've accepted it. Speak to your local MP about this.

He didn't remain in suspended animation. He did actually continue to age after he impregnated his teenage girlfriend. He may have been 15 at the time he created this child, but he had many years of adulthood (whilst he was starting a new family with OP) to be a proper father and seek a DNA test and contact via the courts.

He's a total deadbeat.

OSTMusTisNT · 03/11/2025 14:00

I sometimes feel I've accidentally taken hallucinogenic pills when reading some MN threads. Still none the wiser what's going on but assume LTB applies?

In a nutshell, OP's partner is a cheating deadbeat POS who makes up excuses for barley paying for and seeing his own child under the "toxic ex" storyline. OP still pays for the child despite all of this and the "toxic ex" apparently harassing her. Refuses to leave and seems to need advice on whether she should keep being a doormat and paying for the child that isn't hers and staying with deadbeat partner. LTB indeed!

Zempy · 03/11/2025 18:00

What a shitshow!

Come off Facebook and any other SM

Stop bankrolling your cheating scum partner.

Leave your cheating scum partner.

DoYouReally · 03/11/2025 19:40

Are you aware on any level that everyone in this scenario, and including you, is highly dysfunctional?

If you don't even realise that, there's very little anyone can do to help you.

Farmwifefarmlife · 03/11/2025 19:46

Itsmebee · 03/11/2025 13:11

This is true as at that point he had contact but was hiding it. I found out and he went off to her. They are all to blame but I don’t think you understand I’ve had years of messages prank phone calls etc to the point it got too much

Get them done for harassment and get a restraining order, move on and block them completely. I could not be dealing with that in my life.

RealEagle · 03/11/2025 20:02

Right this man left you 3.5 years ago to go live with this woman for a month ,you didn’t even know where he was .Why the fuck are you still putting up with all this shit from the lot of em .

Gilgogirl · 03/11/2025 22:24

Tryingatleast · 03/11/2025 12:37

Op he cheated on you? Did I read that right?

Yeah, that’s what I saw too. What, why would you stay with him. I don’t get it.
