To want a South American husband

Bored of dating. Just thinking how great it would be to ship in or import some sort of instant husband like via Amazon. Obviously they would have to consent too lol. No terrible unrealistic expectations nor would they need to be anything other than reliable, friendly and a bit of a laugh.
I wouldn’t even care if he had affairs.
Who would you marry if you had the choice? I’m going through a bit of a reggaeton phase hence the fetishisation of Latino men, I know it’s appalling. But I also think they would make good husbands. Plus be good looking.

@Lostthebubblewand to be fair, going through this subject with friends last night, they pointed out that at least the men in our country are clean 🤣 Infidelty is practically endemic tho. Almost taken for granted. And BIG mama complex. They are really mummy's boys, All treated like princes. One boyfriend told his partner that they would NEVER come before his mother / family. Having said that they can charm the birds out of the trees most of the time and salsa dancing - well it's practically sex in public. Prob makes sense in a Catholic country 😉

I don't want to add to the 'fetishising' debate but people of indigenous heritage and also slave heritage (of which there were millions abducted by the Spanish to work the sugar cane) are often stunningly attractive. Also tall (which generally men are not here, something about being mountain people originally) But reggaeton is monstrous noise and very popular with the 'yoof' So much amazing music - but THAT 🫨

@lalafox yes I have to agree I do know of many successful marriages to be fair, both between locals and mixed, very well matched partners who have lots of fun and support each other. Just painting with broad strokes in keeping with the thread....

They really are very fastidious about personal hygiene and presenting well. Even your average 'Joe' driving a cab will have well manicured clean nails with clear lacquer.

I must have missed where anyone, including the OP, said they were heading off to [country of choice] to pick up a younger, poorer man.

I hope you’re not suggesting that all Latin American men are young and poor. Because that would be extremely racist and pretty ignorant of you.

I always wanted to have children with a man of African or Asian heritage, on a fundamental level I think I would feel guilty having a child with another British man and bringing another privileged white child into this world. I’m probably past the age of being able to have children now, but it is pleasing to see that younger generations of women are considering spreading their wings and getting seriously committed to men (and other women!) from outside the community.

It won’t be in my lifetime sadly, but I look forward to a world without prejudice and characteristics to separate us from another. We are all one big human race! ✊

@lalafox no worries ! I can see now how that might read - but we were talking amongst ourselves, in this country not UK. My friends are both born and bred here so they can explain a lot about how men / women function culturally.

What is there view on South American men/women preferring to have a non South American partner? My DH has never had a South American girlfriend. The couple of relationships he’s had have been with Europeans women. I also know his SA friends mainly feel the same that they prefer European women and the females prefer European men as opposed to SA men.

Having been to many countries in South America I think you’d be surprised… the majority are not particularly good looking 😂 many (not all) are also extremely sexist. Some are gorgeous of course but so are some Europeans.

I will say Brazilian men did seem to have a higher rate of attractiveness. But still, is British women have a global reputation for being ugly sadly so I’m not sure they’d be interested back.

If you think British women are ugly you should see the men!

Because the men aren’t doing it out of desire for the women. It’s survival sex work and it’s disturbing to see people championing that. Those men would not go near the sex tourist women if they were wealthy.

It absolutely is the exact same thing as the men who go to places like Thailand looking for women to exploit.

Well.....there is some degree of truth in that. But it can be driven by desire for visa / expectation of a higher standard of living. And altho' a cliché, women in this country can be batshit jealous and very high maintenance. An English friend married his SA girlfriend so she could stay in UK and when they argued it would escalate to the point where she would run into the road at times. Very dramatic. (They divorced) None of my girlfriends here have exhibited this temperament but it's definitely a reputation ! And yes generally @TenGreatFatSquirrels it is very macho / sexist overall. I used to wonder why drivers would randomly honk their horn and then realised it was when they had seen an attractive woman on the street. And true about the not particularly good looking overall ! I think the women are way ahead in those stakes. Some of my friends are literally stunning bless 'em.
