Oooofff. I mean it might as well be called Fuck You David Harbour, You Cheating Bastard. Safe to say she’s set a new bar for diaristic songwriting. I feel so sad for her, I know she’s not everyone’s favourite person but it’s always been clear that all she wanted was to love and be loved and she seemed so happy with him- he popped up on her podcast with Miquita Oliver a few times and seemed so genuine in the way he spoke about her… for it to all collapse in such spectacularly public and hideous fashion must have been awful to endure, so I don’t blame her for working through it by going back to what she does best but still… blimey. I feel like I’ve been spying in their bedroom or something after listening to it!

And I am allowed to strongly disagree. The way in which she spoke about it wasn't acceptable and you wouldn't be saying this if it had been miscarriage, but because abortion is sometimes a choice, it's fine. There is a way to make light of a situation and that wasn't it, it was distasteful and offensive. I didn't say her experience wasn't true, I said the way she made fun of it publicly wasn't okay, the two are very different. And it has thoroughly confirmed her as a dickhead to me.

What would stun me is if she quietly disappeared from the public eye.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a particular fan, I agree with her on some things and strongly disagree on others. I never meant for this thread to become a dissection of her character, morals or past deeds (or misdeeds, depending on your perspective) but I guess given the subject matter of her album that was almost inevitable.

Just to chime in here, from a purely physiological point of view, the more abortions you have, the weaker your cervix can become and the more likely you are then to suffer miscarriages thereafter and lose the children you DO want to give birth to.

It was a terrible look, I can’t imagine seeing what she said willingly. Distasteful and embarrassing

I like this album — yes, it’s a massive F U to David Harbour. I am not going to dissect her character or morals, simply focusing on her music. I thought the song Ruminating is very Charli xcx. I like the upbeat “Beg for Me.” I thought it was clever how the song Tennis sings about a lady Madeline who I’m assuming relates to the person DH cheated on her with… and it then transitions to the song titled “Madeline.”

Raw, diaristic, modern and a reactive account of her marital breakdown… that’s how I’d describe it.

She always struck me as white trash but I could never work out if she was rich or poor.

Regarding the dog, she should indeed have made appropriate arrangements to have the dog re-homed with decent people who could look after it. She's rich enough after all to go to some trouble. And she should have refrained from getting another dog. But she announced she was getting another.

She made it clear that in an act of impulsive vengeance she took the dog back to rescue facility. She referred to it as a "cheapo" dog. "....because this f*ing dog had eaten the passports. And I just couldn't look at her. I was like "you've ruined my life"."

I think she has a personality disorder. I pity her children.

I’m pro choice - I think she should legally be allowed to have as many abortions as she wants/needs. I don’t have to think it’s great that she doesn’t take responsibility for her own sexual health, though. Bag it up, use a condom. Surely that’s got to be easier than all this carry on. We can still judge her being an irresponsible nob.

You should be careful of your phrasing of insults. "white trash" is based in racist terminology.

She’s clearly a damaged individual, who has made some very questionable and morally bankrupt choices, and usually in the case of celebrity it’s wether you are ok with separating the art from the artist, but when the “art” is so biographical, that can’t really be done. That being said I imagine the album will get a lot of curiosity downloads.

Seems like the age old 'marry in haste, repent at leisure' applies here. Both parties seem like they'd be challenging to live with.
