To be a bit stunned by Lily Allen’s new album

Oooofff. I mean it might as well be called Fuck You David Harbour, You Cheating Bastard. Safe to say she’s set a new bar for diaristic songwriting. I feel so sad for her, I know she’s not everyone’s favourite person but it’s always been clear that all she wanted was to love and be loved and she seemed so happy with him- he popped up on her podcast with Miquita Oliver a few times and seemed so genuine in the way he spoke about her… for it to all collapse in such spectacularly public and hideous fashion must have been awful to endure, so I don’t blame her for working through it by going back to what she does best but still… blimey. I feel like I’ve been spying in their bedroom or something after listening to it!

I gave her dad a lift once, he was very hungover. Was all a bit surreal as not a taxi driver.

LA has always been open about her journey and struggles. We only know about her treatment of her ex husband because she told us. It’s not like she’s an arsehole who goes around wrecking havoc and never dealing with it.

Why shouldn’t abortion be used as contraception? She can have as many as she bloody likes.

The thing about LA is the media and general public seemed to be determined not to apply any nuance or understanding to her statements. The abortion one being a perfect example. She lets thoughts and statements out to the world with little media training etc then then they are interrogated with all the intelligence you’d expect from a hardened NOTW journalist from the 90s

Contraception is supposed to actively stop you getting pregnant not have operations, procedures or medicine AFTER you are pregnant, thats a completely different area of healthcare.

No medical practitioner would advise to a woman, yes go ahead we recommended using abortion as your contraception🙄

I don't think it was about her having had abortions. That's nothing to be ashamed of. It was the bragging/laughing about it.

Oh I think she'd be pretty pissed off if someone wrote an entire album about what a shit person she is. She can't monetise that.

She’s very chaotic. Both her and her brother have ADHD. It explains a lot of her impulsivity. I find her really quite sad. She’s desperate for love and validation. Growing up with Keith as her dad must have been a nightmare.

I listened to it this morning and thought it was shit with an overuse of autotune.

It’s embarrassing that someone would air all their dirty laundry like this.

I’ve listened to their podcast since day one, and loved it!… I’ve enjoyed her chats and have felt sorry for her when the media take it out of context and only pick on her for some reason.

But this album is pathetic and childish.

Is it her fault that sec workers exists too? What else can this woman take responsibility for?

Absolutely. Because the alternative is women being forced to have unwanted babies. We don’t know the circumstances around those pregnancies, so I’m not going to judge her for having multiple abortions or for being unashamed of them.
