That’s it really

Every farmer I know, and it’s many, loves him.

I have sat poolside reading his books many times wheezing with suppressed laughter, he’s right up there with Bryson.

I confess, he has also been the subject of many filthy dreams.

justasking111 · 23/10/2025 19:43

Never fancied him.

But I'm very glad that he's shone a spotlight on farming and the countryside. Gates and co would have us eating 🪳 for protein.

I never fancied him but he showed up in my dreams during covid and I haven't been the same since

Boogiemam · 23/10/2025 19:47

He's funny??? Is he? I mean the irony of him giving Zack Polanski grief about his teeth when Clarkson looks like he's harbouring a stinking graveyard in his mouth with those yellow, rotting things he calls teeth is pretty funny I suppose.

GellerYeller · 23/10/2025 19:48

Does anyone know what was Clarkson or May’s version of events over the punching?
In general, I assume most of what he says is for attention.
I’m not a big drinker but DH had some of his Hawkstone lager and cider and it was decent.
I liked his idea to only use British produced food and drink at his pub. I accept that’s easier for him than the local down the road that’s not celebrity owned obviously.

Edited

I'm just surprised Zack just hasn't hypnotised his teeth straight...

If you had watched the episode, I think I can understand his reaction.

And the hotel restaurant certainly didn’t look closed in the episode

It wasn’t televised or part of any episode so I have no idea what you are referring to.
The BBC sacked him for an unprovoked verbal and physical assault on a member of production staff.

WestwardHo1 · 23/10/2025 20:05

I am a very, very unwilling fan. Very very very unwilling...I am a greenie environmentalist LibDem voter FFS.

However he makes me howl with laughter, I love Clarkson's Farm, I love his Millionaire hosting, and I love the way he's standing up for farmers when this dreadful government seem to be doing their utmost to annihilate farming culture and land custodianship.

His charmless boy racer antics, less so

I like James May too.

WestwardHo1 · 23/10/2025 20:06

I think basically he's a stupid teenager in an aging man's body.

ScribblingPixie · 23/10/2025 20:08

CurlyhairedAssassin · 23/10/2025 17:48

IS he clever? He often comes across as a bit thick on Who Wants to be a millionaire on the Ask the Host bit.

I said he's a clever broadcaster ie he's very smart at knowing what will entertain. No idea about his general knowledge. Different things.

RoamingToaster · 23/10/2025 20:10

I think he can be entertaining and makes great tv. Obviously he’s flawed and has rightly been reprimanded for assault and other issues but there have been issues that get in the media which are nothing or misrepresented. I’m thinking of the time he sarcastically said protesters should be shot. He had to apologise and people who hadn’t seen the segment were talking as if he’d said it seriously, but if you watch the full clip he says because it’s the bbc you have to be balanced and goes on to say they should be shot as a way of offering “balance” to the debate, clearly a joke from his tone and what came before it.

HughGrantsfurrysquirrel · 23/10/2025 20:11

In guessing Katie Hopkins didn’t start this thread!! Unless of course she IS fucking Clarkson, and wants to say it loud and proud.

flapjackfairy · 23/10/2025 20:19

I must confess to also being a fan. I dont always like his views or behaviour but I love the way he refuses to play the game and shows himself warts and all. He is often a pillock and doesn't shy away from that allowing his mistakes to be aired . Seeing him being dressed down by Kaleb for his latest disaster is always a highlight
I don't fancy him personally but there is something v attractive about a man who is so at ease with himself.

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 23/10/2025 20:24

I stopped watching the Farm after the article he wrote that called for the vile abuse of a woman, modelled on game of thrones. I thought, I just can’t sit back as though it didn’t matter. But the programme was great, and leveraged his fame to shine a light on farming.

Thank you from this farmer

Jamesblonde2 · 23/10/2025 20:28

He’s great. What’s your gripe?

Zov · 23/10/2025 20:39

He makes me smile, he makes me laugh, he makes me cringe.

He never bores me! 😆

MayaPinion · 23/10/2025 20:43

I like him. He was very anti Brexit if I remember correctly. I mean he’s an arrogant twat and a dickhead, and he’s gone all crusty culchie but he’s kind of funny in an embarrassing dad kind of way. He peaked with Top Gear though.

Zebrasee · 23/10/2025 20:45

Driftingawaynow · 23/10/2025 15:56

That’s it really

I hate these swearing, pathetic attacks on random celebrities. Why the f bomb you f? It’s just MN clickbait, for bored women, and another form of goading - disguised of course as virtue-signalling.

messybutfun · 23/10/2025 20:50

He deserves some credit for rubbishing Brexit.

Driftingawaynow · 23/10/2025 20:57

Theunamedcat · 23/10/2025 18:49

What exactly is he supposed to have done now?

Nothing special, just saw a photo of him

Make sure you get tested after. He looks like his parts are decaying.

LunaDeBallona · 23/10/2025 21:06

MumoftwoNC · 23/10/2025 17:22

Strongly agree. I met a train driver once who told me she was on long term sick leave for her mental health because "something" happened when she was driving. It was clear what she meant, she couldn't even talk about it. She said every time she drove the train after that, she kept thinking it would happen again any second, so she had to get signed off. She said you're alone in the cab for hours with no one to talk to, just your awful thoughts to sit with.

Totally selfish to knowingly choose to traumatise an innocent person that way.

My cousin had a heart attack track - a fucking heart attack - aged 39 because of the horrific stress of someone throwing themselves in front of his train.
Apart from the knock on effect of the delays etc ( someone could be going to a much needed long waited for hospital appt, a funeral, meeting to save their business etc - you just don’t know) the horror that the drivers have to go through is enough for me to agree with PP and JC- it’s a really really selfish way of killing yourself.
Oh and cousin train driver hasn’t been the same since. He’s aged about 30 years.

DBD1975 · 23/10/2025 21:07

Can't stand him, what's he done now?

LunaDeBallona · 23/10/2025 21:09

Oh and I LOVE the support he gives to farmers and his wonderful ‘Clarksons farm’ giving us wonderful entertainment and showing how tough farming (and running a pub) can be.
So I like JC and agree with a PP - I think he would be interesting in the sack. 😃

DarkFruitcake · 23/10/2025 21:11

Personally I'm a huge fan. He's a great chap.
