Hairdresser won't accept fault

I've shown her my hair and how the cut looks like indepdent layers. Everything was just fine to her and this is how layers are supposed to be....

I called her this morning and she didn't even need to know my name. It was like she knew it was bad. She didn't ask for photos or ask me to come up, just said that's how layers are.

Even when I went in for a refund than she didn't want to see my hair, I suggested it. I showed her how it looks like layers and not blended, choppy.

It was a local place. Silly me. Thought a hair cut is easy.

She also said my highlights needed redoing .. weird...

Well the hair she cut off won't grow back, I've wasted time getting my hair cut (had 1/2 day at work), mental energy having to deal with the conflict.....

Wasted time getting your hair cut but found the time to start 2 separate threads about it?

Bunnylove19 · 18/10/2025 14:06

She’s ruined what was beautiful hair , I’m
sorry. Can you have it cut above the mess she has made with another salon? Thankfully it will grow back but not the point x

Time is against me. I took annual leave and won't be able to for 2 months now. Single parent and caring responsibility so no free time sadly

Because they won't be able to blend in the layers without chopping of more of the length, and even then the shortest layers will be too short for my liking.

Also what to say the hairdresser will make a good job?

Hopefully it grows out quickly then and the next hairdresser does a better job. Whether you leave a bad review or not is up to you but I don’t think there’s anything else this hairdresser can do now.

Yes because I'm having a poo on the toilet..... Whilst child naps.

Shall I just no go to work or look after my child and get my hair done.

You know they are a luxury to a lot of people.

But different going out for a hair cut in person and starting threads on your phone really isn’t it? Not that hard to understand why she’d have more time free to start a thread than get a hair cut when you think about it.

You know being bitchy to people you don’t even know isn’t a good look, right?

I agree. My point was why do we need 2 separate threads about a haircut that she's been refunded for.

KimberleyMilkado · 18/10/2025 14:15

Thinks How bad can it be?
Scrolls…😬

It doesn’t look great, like you I would expect the layers to blend better.

But a decent hair cut is not easy, and you are undervaluing the good cutters out there by saying that.

It’s not rocket science. A basic haircut is what they are trained to do

Is anyone forcing you to read them?

Surely if you’re a hairdresser in a salon then you know how to cut hair ??
If you’re a builder you know how to build ? The more you do a job then yeah it does become easier and if you struggle to cut hair then you shouldn’t be doing it until you’ve had more training and maybe gone back to college … doing layers should be easy for a hairdresser coz it’s what they tend to do every day ….

this haircut looks like it’s been cut at home by your child with paper scissors!

Obeseandashamed · 18/10/2025 14:19

RhiWrites · 18/10/2025 13:38

Post this on google reviews saying only “this hairdresser said this is fine and how layers are supposed to be”.

This! You’ve given her opportunity to rectify it and she hasn’t so she should take ownership of her work.

Megifer · 18/10/2025 14:20

Thats a very basic hair cut which should be easy for a hairdresser who is competent. (I dont mean basic as a negative i just mean bread and butter type cut)

I think you should leave a factual review to warn others. She's an awful hairdresser.

it'll grow out fairly quickly, in the meantime could you just go for a "beach" look with salt spray etc. to hide it a bit?

Presumably OP doesn’t want her to tough her hair again though? How else is she suppose to rectify it??

EarthSight · 18/10/2025 14:21

That looks bad, like a dog has randomly chomped at it. Even I could do a better job, and I'm not a hairdresser!

The hairdresser doesn't see anything wrong.... She didn't ask my name when I called, she seemed to know what was wrong without me having to explain. She offered a refund, not her fixing it or someone else fixing it

MyDeftDuck · 18/10/2025 14:23

Blimey……looks like she’s used a knife and fork!!!
Is she the business owner? If not, then demand to see the manager. And as a pp says, get the photo up there with your review…..if she thinks it’s acceptable then she won’t have a problem with her ‘expertise’ being in the public domain. Then she if she changes her mind.

Whereismyfleeceblanket · 18/10/2025 14:24

Who cut THAT Edward Scissorhands?

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 18/10/2025 14:24

ToKittyornottoKitty · 18/10/2025 13:59

But the hairdresser has refunded the OP so is it really fair to try and damage her business with a bad review anyway? If the hairdresser thought it was fine she wouldn’t have refunded

If this is how a hairdresser cuts hair, I’d want to know before using their services. Because it’s fucking awful.

Purplebunnie · 18/10/2025 14:31

If you don't have the time to go out to a hairdresser now, would one coming to your house be an option? I used to have a really good hairdresser come to the house and they are usually cheaper

Cucy · 18/10/2025 14:31

It doesn’t look great.
I can do better when I cut my own myself.

But she refunded you and she hasn’t permanently ruined it, so I’m not sure there was a need for a thread.

Salemsplot · 18/10/2025 14:31

That is a hilariously bad haircut. I don’t know why you’re determined to get her to have another go!

She has permanent ruined it, the hair won't go back to the same length if wS yesterday.
