Just like austerity. The damage that caused will never be repaired.

All started by Blair/Brown who has started the ball rolling in the negative position we are in now.(welfare/immigration).

You know where the door is

Are you saying she should shut up or leave the country.
Bit fascist of you, but you do you.

Well, it's been spun like that, but his people simply delivered Netanyahus's list of demands and concessions to the Hamas negotiators.

It's looking like Israel may break the third cease fire in a row.

Hamas thanked Trump.

This level of denialism is actually insane.

Number 1 rule of Donald Trump. Every accusation is a confession.

We’re just fine here thanks. It might not be amazing but it’s the most competent government we’ve had in at least a decade and it isn’t like there is anyone else competent waiting in the wings from any party. Not charismatic but reasonably safe is as good as it’s going to get for now.

Ha ha ha.
Most competent government we’ve had in the last decade.
I’ll have some of what you’ve had to drink.

‘Let him have his trinket’ - you sound utterly begrudging at the thought of this actually happening. Truly.

I really am not. I just don't understand his obsession with getting an award when he should be focusing on stopping Project 2025 and cleaning out the lake of sewage that is the current Republican Party. Of course that's assuming he doesn't think everything is going great, what with ICE arresting US citizens and women dying because they can't get abortion adjacent healthcare.

It is a trinket to him. I don’t begrudge it him if he’s managed to broker genuine peace but there’s a very long way to go before we know if that’s the case.

BIossomtoes · 16/10/2025 11:54

Both things can be true. Let’s give him credit for his intervention in the Middle East (while not pretending his motivation was anything other than a bid for the Nobel Peace Prize) by all means. He’s still a white supremacist who tries to interfere in countries that are fuck all to do with him.

Where’s that laughing emoji when you need it.

Trump needs to look at what is going on in his own country. Everything is a diversion from the Epstein files.

The Ceaseless Snip-Snip-Snip of a Dying State

Fifteen years of cuts have left the UK trying to "efficiency" its way out of a collapse - and somehow still expecting growth to show up as well.

I think it’s fine for Trump to agree with many of us, including that Starmer is about as much use as a chocolate fire guard.

People get upset that North Koreans have a bad time, why can’t any country’s leader express disappointment for a nation due to their leader? It’s normal isn’t it?

And in a further commitment to free speech and freedom of the press in the US, Trump calls the press “disruptive to world peace", and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth demands journalists sign a promise "not to seek or publish any information the Pentagon hadn’t pre-approved."

Almost every major media outlet, including Fox News, has just walked out of the Department of Defense.

“To agree to not solicit information is to agree to not be a journalist,” said The Atlantic’s Nancy Youssef, who’s covered the Pentagon since 2007. “Our whole goal is soliciting information.”

And in case any of his free speech acolytes missed it here he is bragging about taking away people's free speech to criminalise them

"“We took the freedom of speech away, because that’s been through the courts. When they burn a flag, it agitates and irritates crowds … we’re looking at it not from free speech, which I always felt strongly about, but from one that the courts never passed.”

I don't know. I've just spoken to my son, who emigrated to America 15 years ago, and he tells me that as the yearly budget hasn't been approved, a lot of the (American) civil service has been shut down. 🙄

Perhaps the Orange Genius should concentrate on America. Just a thought. 🤷‍♀️

Trump made Starmer look like even more of a pathetic fool than we already knew he was. For that we should be grateful.

The UK has the worst leader and government it has ever had. It is so bad it is almost not believable.

He made him look like the regular human being that he is next to the Orange Toddler. How exactly are we having a bad time over here does he think compared with the absolutely fucking fascist Nazi shite that is happening in the US just now? We've just had 14 years of Tories, it's not going to be easy to sort that shit out.

ToWhitToWhoo · 16/10/2025 16:11

Anthempart2 · 16/10/2025 11:22

Yep, I agree.

What makes me laugh is virtually every Islamic Middle Eastern leader approves of him and the way in which he brokered the end of the war, yet middle class white Mumsnet users will confidently proclaim from their keyboards that he’s a white supermacist hellbent on global destruction.

Surprise surprise. An illiberal racist near-fascist gets approval from a somewhat different group of illiberal racist fascists, but not from 21st century democratic liberals.

In any case, we have to see whether the peace turns out to be lasting.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 16/10/2025 16:12

Trump is annoyed with KS for a different reason, he doesn't care about the British people or the majority of the world. 🙄

But for those chanting for the West to leave the Middle East alone to govern itself as it sees fit, this is what you wanted.

And you are? I’ve had Thatcher Johnson Truss & Cameron in my lifetime & right now Starmer is nowhere near the absolute pits they were. All in their own sweet way.

You’ve been busy.

The Brown and Blair governments left the country in a very healthy state. Ideological austerity destroyed it. There was no need for it. Cameron’s government took an axe to public services and increased the national debt. God knows where the fuck all the money went.

Do they? Rocketing immigration, surging BNP support, massive national debt, a burgeoning recession, aftermath and ongoing war in the ME… I can’t see it

Massive national debt? Really? Check out the bar chart, it rose much faster under Tory austerity.

Rocketing immigration? Seriously?
