Beauty appointment and toilet

I’m sure most people will say I AM being unreasonable here because I’m a grown adult who should be able to hold my bladder but here we go…

I’ve been going to a lady for about 3 years now for beauty services, she normally does my brows, lashes, nails & toes, generally my appointments are 3-3.5 hours. She operates out of her house and must be busy as she always makes out she has lots of clients. Anyway; today was my first appointment after having my baby 12 weeks ago so my bladder is not what it used to be after child birth. She made me a coffee as she always does. She did my nails and toes and I said “before you start my brows and lashes can I use your loo please?” She said “no it’s not clean up there I wasn’t expecting anyone to use it”, I didn’t say anything and then let her do my brows, by this point I was getting really desperate and told her I was going to have to nip to a nearby supermarket to use the toilet and come back, she said if I did that she wouldn’t be able to do my lashes due to time but I’d still have to pay for them as that’s what I’d booked. I knew I couldn’t wait so I paid, left without having my lashes done and went to Tesco 5 minutes away. I really like her and I love the way she does my brows but this has got me questioning whether I should go back? I’ve had treatments done at other peoples homes before and they’ve always offered me use of the toilet…

This set up does not sound legal to me. I think she has to provide a toilet for customers if running a beauty business and it's outrageous to expect a new mum to hold on for that amount of time. I think it's v cheeky to refuse to allow you to go to the toilet then make you pay anyway as you needing to leave was her fault. If she's hosting clients in her premises she needs to keep the toilet clean, lazy cow. What an ignorant person!! I wonder if she has liability insurance? Paying business rates? Seems like she's just using her own home without thinking it through properly. I definitely wouldn't go back. Might write a review as well depending on my mood!

Sorry but I wouldn’t be going back - if she is running a business from her house she needs to provide a toilet for clients. Then to not be able to finish your treatments and charging you anyway? Nope, I’d be done. It was all her fault for not providing basic amenities and I wouldn’t have even offered to go next door to use the toilet. I also wouldn’t have paid her the full amount. Ridiculous.

That would be my last appointment there for sure!
