What are Hamas playing at?

It’s deeply worrying that Hamas haven’t returned all the dead hostages as agreed. I’ve seen comments saying it’s an impossible task given how Gaza has been reduced to rubble. But if that’s the case, they would have known they had lost the bodies. So why did they agree to return them if they knew they weren’t able to do so?

I am pro resistance from the occupier (for any people living under occupation). I am not pro the indiscriminate killing of civilians.

How do you feel about the executions carried out by Haand recently?

Why do I get the feeling you are pro Hamas. Avoiding the question.

SugarPlumpFairyCakes · 15/10/2025 10:45

Hamas not Haand

Imagine this @Rickrolypoly

Hamas know that IDF will likely shoot at anyone who crosses into their zone.
Hamas know that the media will report on this & people like you & I will discuss it in online discussions & social media.
End of the story?
Civilian lives are lost and we are playing part of Hamas’ game.

We are being played by Netanyahu & Trump - can't you see that?

Have you seen the outrageous comments Trump made about supplying weapons. You are essentially defending these madmen by ignoring what they have done and continue to do.

Weasle words.

It's funny what form "resistance" Hamas is involved in, isn't it?

Sartre · 15/10/2025 10:48

I don’t want to sound crass but genuinely not sure how the Israeli forces know which bodies are correct just by looking at this stage. They likely died on or shortly after October 7th so the bodies would be completely unrecognisable, particularly in the heat.

I don't condone the executions but I can see why they happened (if that makes sense and doesn't make me sound like an awful person).

Bumblebee72 · 15/10/2025 10:50

Israeli don't want this to work they are just getting to Trump to keep giving them weapons. I'm anti Israeli and anti Hamas or anyone else who will kill in the name of fictional gods.

The Israelis are DNA testing them.

I read about when they got back the bodies of that poor woman and her children. They have quite a sophisticated post mortem lab system with the ability to test for various things eg the multiple causes of death etc.
Grim work.

Now you're sounding "like an awful person" to use your words.

That and refusing to say you don't condemn Hamas.

Why? Are you pro Trump and pro Netanyahu and his cronies in government? Do you support the occupation of the Palestinians? Are you pro ethnic cleansing? Pro genocide?

No, it makes you sound awful.

You understand that they are taking the opportunity now, while there is still fighting going on, to remove their political rivals? So they can continue to claim they govern Palestine, and can continue to use Palestinians for their own purposes.

How do you know they don't want it to work? Seems like they've compromised quite a lot.
Do you have information we don't?

Bumblebee72 · 15/10/2025 10:51

It's funny how when Israeli holds thousands of hostages without trial that is considered to be ok.

OverlyFragrant · 15/10/2025 10:53

Hamas doing Hamas things.
I'm surprised more people are surprised because I'm not.

Growlybear83 · 15/10/2025 10:54

OrangeAxolotyl · 15/10/2025 10:13

They have a very complex, very robust tunnel system. This keeps them safe as well as their ammunition, medical and food supplies.
They didn't keep the hostages in a building overground!

You have no way of knowing where the hostages were kept or whether they survived the destruction in Gaza. We all know about the tunnels that Hamas used, but Israel claimed they were targeting Hamas members, including those in tunnels. I very much doubt that many of the tunnels were capable of withstanding direct hits to the buildings above them.

Political rivals? These groups are backed and armed by Israel - you do know that?

It's not ok to hold people suspected of crimes indefinitely without trial.

They aren't "hostages" as did something to make them seem guilty to Israel but agree that anyone being held in prison needs a trial to determine if guilty or innocent of what they are accused of.

Yes I do believe this and I believe Palestine has the right to resist their occupier.

It is absolutely terrifying to see the twisted defence of terrorism on a modern forum like this. Completely inexcusable.
