What are Hamas playing at?

It’s deeply worrying that Hamas haven’t returned all the dead hostages as agreed. I’ve seen comments saying it’s an impossible task given how Gaza has been reduced to rubble. But if that’s the case, they would have known they had lost the bodies. So why did they agree to return them if they knew they weren’t able to do so?

Who said it’s ok?

You sound very much like you're ok with anything Israel does.

In 2022 Israel was withholding 256 bodies of Palestinians from their families.

I don't condone the executions but I can see why they happened (if that makes sense and doesn't make me sound like an awful person).

So explain it to us. Why did they happen?

Really? Hamas are doing a good job propaganda if you’re saying this on here.

You sound horrific. You sound pro Hamas.

Not hard to understand at all.

You sound horrific - pro Netanyahu and Trump and pro everything that's happened to the Palestinian people.

It is quite possible to be both anti-genocide and anti-terrorist.

Is that right? Where can you find my pro Trump and pro Israel stance?

You have not said one single thing to sympathise or empathise with the Palestinians.

Sure. It’s working though, you’re painting them in a better light. Why?

NotrialNodeal · 15/10/2025 11:03

Hamas don't want peace.

I'll support Netanyahu when he has defended himself and been found innocent of war crimes in the international criminal court.

In that case, I assume you have no objection to his extradition to face trial?

Not on this thread. Because this thread is about Hamas scum.

On many other threads I have expressed sympathy with Palestinians. But just because I have not expressed sympathy with Palestinians on this thread I am pro Trump?

Bloody hell. Pathetic.

Stonewallslemon · 15/10/2025 08:14

I’m not sure Hamas have any intention of cooperating.

I totally agree.
The fact that they signed the agreement won’t stop them continuing as they are, why should they capitulate?
I greatly suspect that in 3 months nothing will have changed except more innocent lives lost while the terrorists happily carry on as if nothing happened.

She doesn't need to.
This thread is about Hamas, completely separate from the Palestinian people, allegedly.

Hamas don't want peace.

Neither does Israel.

There is more at play than meets the eye.

EasternStandard · 15/10/2025 11:03

I obviously see this situation completely differently from almost all others on this thread. I have followed what has been going on in Palestine for many years prior to Oct 2023, completely horrified at the injustice that has been metered out to the Palestinians. I believe people who are occupied have a right to resist. I want freedom for the Palestinian people. I see the people like Netanyahu and Trump as the real terrorists of the world.

TheWytch · 15/10/2025 11:12

Whatever made you think they would?

StewkeyBlue · 15/10/2025 11:12

Hamas’ tunnels are not rubble.

The hostages were kept ‘safe’ in tunnels etc. Valuable assets.

See how quickly thousands of fit well equipped Hamas fighters were scrambled?

The bombardment of Gaza and behaviour if IDF was catastrophic but would people please stop being apologists for Hamas as victims of Israel.

I thought the whole justification of the bombing was to destroy the tunnels (or the tunnel entrances?)...

Ontheedgeofit · 15/10/2025 11:19

Sartre · 15/10/2025 10:48

I don’t want to sound crass but genuinely not sure how the Israeli forces know which bodies are correct just by looking at this stage. They likely died on or shortly after October 7th so the bodies would be completely unrecognisable, particularly in the heat.

My point exactly. But we keep getting told how sophisticated their tunnel network is... Do they have underground coldrooms? It is grim.

They are returning dead bodies. Not alive humans.

I don't think Hamas were ever going go along with the deal and I also don't think Netanyahu or Trump expected them to or even wanted them to. IMO Hamas will break it, Trump will say look we gave them a chance and then the Palestinians will be in the firing line again when Israel and America go in and take over.

It will be the Israeli and Palestinian people suffering again.
