My Facebook feed is full of GP practices etc. promoting the flu jab, and EVERY response is from people saying they are full of poison, giving everyone flu, part of a government conspiracy, Bill Gates, big pharma, etc.

It doesn't matter where the GP surgery is in the country, the responses are all the same.

Just... WOT IS GOING ON????

It's literally 100% of the respondents. Please can someone explain to me why the general public (on my feeds anyway) have become convinced that the flu jab is part of a conspiracy... to what end?!

This was this issue with the COVID vaccines They WERENT tried and tested and one of the companies making them were trying up data for 75 years. Basically ensuring anyone who took them in 2021 would be dead by the time info was in public domain.

Then get government trying to force people to take them.

I can see why people luse trust in cases like that. Unfortunately it seems so e have applied the COVID scenario to the tried and trusted vaccines aswell

You really have fallen down a rabbit hole! Of course the Covid vaccines WERE tested, my nephew took part in one of the trials! Pfizer said it could take 75 years to review, compile and release that information as the request was for 450,000 pages! They don't have the manpower to process at that overnight.

There are really good fact checking websites out there, stop believing any old shit you're told. It's far more likely that you had such a severe reaction as you already had cancer. Which ingredient in the vaccine do you suspect to be a carcinogen?

Your nephew took park in the trials 20 years before COVID so they could test the long term effects? Really? I doubt that

What reaction did I have? I have no reaction at all to the jabs nor did I say I did so you are obviously waffling shit

You think that they wait 20 years before releasing vaccines usually? That would be considered highly unethical.

I thought you were the one who experienced a haemorrhage, the wifi is very slow here so I must have mixed up posters! Apologies!

But many of our regular vaccines have been around long enough so there is data from 20/30 years back. COVID wasn't like it and the government were trying to pressure people into taking them. Using downright lies at the time. Like if they are very effective at preventing infection which is outright untrue

That's the type of thing that makes the general public lose trust in the govt and health officials

I'm on Facebook. Don't seem to get nutters, anti vaxxers and rants or anything of the sort. Mine is full of travel deals, travel groups etc

But you are coming across as extremely snobby. You may only want to speak to degree educated higher income people but not everyone is so stuck up and insular

Edited

Where did I say that’s only who I wanted to speak to? You’re assuming, based on nothing, that just because I know some simple stats on the typical user of Facebook that you know who I want to speak to. But it’s just something you’ve made up. Your use of Facebook works for you, which is great. But the OP doesn’t seem to be having that experience, presumably because of who they are interacting with. And as they are unhappy with that, not using it would seem to be a good solution!

You raise an interesting point though. What is more insular - living, socialising, contributing and interacting in a diverse global society, or living in a Facebook bubble of like minded people ;)

Medical authorities have lost the trust of much of the public. Not only big pharma, who they see as the ones really promoting the flu jab, but they have no trust in government medical authorities, or the research that informs medical practice.

They've squandered what used to be very significant trust and that means other sources of information are stepping in.

Have they squandered it or have the loud ignorant masses just bleated over the top of them? What have doctors done wrong ? .

No, they were anti-vaxxers. Claimed to be anti all vaccinations, so at the extreme end.

They claimed to be “anti all vaccines” except rabies? How many of these anti-all-vaccines people did you ask?

The point was that they wouldn't answer the rabies question. Ignored it. Presumably they would take it but just didn't want to say that when they've just been arguing that all vaccines are bad.

Well I’ve never had anyone demand to know if I’d take a rabies shot, and unless you are in the situation of potentially needing one you might not have an opinion on it. Perhaps stick to your pro-all-vaccine friends.

Not Pfizer… but here’s the lovely cocktail that was in the AZ vaccine:
What COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca contains
One dose (0.5 ml) contains:
COVID-19 Vaccine (ChAdOx1-S* recombinant) 5 × 1010 viral particles
*Recombinant, replication-deficient chimpanzee adenovirus vector encoding the SARS-CoV-2
Spike
glycoprotein. Produced in genetically modified human embryonic kidney (HEK) 293 cells.
This product contains genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
The other excipients are L-histidine, L-histidine hydrochloride monohydrate, magnesium chloride
hexahydrate, polysorbate 80, ethanol, sucrose, sodium chloride, disodium edetate dihydrate,
water for injections.
Furthermore, COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca, solution for injection in multidose container
COVID-19 Vaccine (ChAdOx1-S [recombinant]), Public Assessment Report Authorisation for
Temporary Supply2 states the following:
Regarding COVID-19 cases, no viral genomic sequencing data of the isolated strains and no
immunogenicity data in these vaccine failures are currently available. This will be addressed at a
broader level by the COVID-19 Genomics UK (COG-UK) Consortium and in the immunogenicity
follow-up.

Looks good. Not a carcinogen in sight! Thanks for the reassurance.

I work with people who are anti the flu and covid vaccine. They've never been able to give a reason.
They also smoke and two have a history of using drugs, but heaven forbid they take advantage of science to help them well.
I was ok with this, adults make their own choices, but it turns out they don't allow their kids to use it either.
My adult daughter was just hospitalised with complications from flu (she caught it before her vaccine was booked) and yet still they don't see the severity of it.

daisychain01 · 12/10/2025 08:23

RubySquid · 11/10/2025 06:49

It's pretty public knowledge that the COVID jabs were rushed tgeough. Not enough time had possibly passed to be able to see any long term effects of the drug on such a major scale

And the government threatening to sack staff etc for not taking them . That is bullying and not conducive to building trust.

I had the first two as blackmailed into not being able to travel unless I did. Have turned down all the other constant offers of them and still never had COVID. For me niconsidered them unnecessary. Also they don't provide " herd immunity" like majority of vaccinations. Which was another lie Originally it was broadcast that it would stop most infections and prevent spread.

"Pretty public knowledge" is so far from actual fact and evidence, you're really making yourself look stupid.

the reason I never got involved in any of the COVID threads on here was because they were full of your kind of shit, masquerading as fact. Pointless arguing over it.

Ok as if I actually care. Not quite as stupid as all neurotic people during vivid times but hey...

And I'm not telling anyone whether they should have vaccine or not

Nearly50omg · 09/10/2025 02:19

if you are happy with your decision to vaccinate yourself and your children and convinced it works then why are you so concerned by what other people do?!?! What other people do or don’t do is their business.

Exactly! It's like the smear test threads, of you attend all your smears why do you get irate when other women choose not to attend theirs??

A woman's choice not to find out if she has pre-cancerous cells has no effect on other people's health. When someone who rejected vaccination gets the illness, they can infect small children and immunocompromised people. These are the very people most likely to be seriously harmed by the illness.

On top of that, several people rejecting vaccination in the same area/group will prevent herd immunity. The illness is more likely to spread, making it more likely that vulnerable people will catch it and be severely affected.

ETA: Smear tests now test for HPV, don't they? So the test refuser is choosing to ignore any infection she may have, meaning she can pass it on to partners and to people they have sex with afterwards, and people they have sex with ...
