To feel like the tide of public opinion has turned against the pro-palestine protestors

Every social media feed I have is full of irate people commenting on pro-gaza protestors.

From people commenting on Greta Thunberg sharing the picture of the starving hostage and claiming it was a Palestinian (wtf was she thinking?!) , to the student saying Israelis should 'go back where they came from', there are thousands of angry comments. Lots of the protestors hiding their faces too, and on a local Uni group people are trying to name the protestors seen today and get them removed from their courses

I'm disgusted with what I've seen today, and it feels like the tide is turning and people are seeing these protests for what they really are: an opportunity for hate-filled morons to get together and intimidate people. I feel like they've completely ruined their cause just because they couldn't wait a day to protest.

Nobody is trying to “wipe out a nation or a people”. The Israeli government is trying to protect its population from a repetition of the massacre that took place on October 7 2023. Hamas has vowed to repeat it and you can be sure they will have a darn good try unless they are disarmed and their support from Iran, complete with sophisticated weapons. The population of Gaza has been harbouring these terrorists in their midst for years and sadly they are reaping the consequences now. They were filmed rejoicing and cheering when Hamas and their Gazan civilian supporters brought back their Israeli hostages alive and dead into Gaza in 2023 and have helped Hamas to keep them, starving and in some cases in chains for 2 years. Women, children and babies among them.

That's why Gaza is destroyed and why 70,000 Palestinians are dead, versus 2,000 Israelis.

Gaza is destroyed because Israel has a much bigger and better military than Hamas.

70,000 is horrendous. War is devastating. It is not a genocide. 6 Million is a genocide.

Equating war deaths in a territorial dispute with the extermination of a religious/ethnic group across multiple borders is beneath contempt.

Genocide is not measured by the absolute numbers killed. That wouldn't make any sense, because then you could never have a genocide against a group with a small population

Too late to vote but YANBU. The hate filled morons should uncover their faces and do something productive like raise money to send to help Gazans, rather than spewing hatred on the streets of cities around the UK and elsewhere. Many of them seem quite thick to the history of the area too. A 'cause' rather than genuinely wanting things to improve, a way to get anger issues out.

I live in London and most people I know are getting fed up with the marches clogging up the centre and the somewhat lax policing of the events. As I said on another thread I have seen these protests up close several times and there are sizable elements that are quite clearly being anti semitic in their chanting and the placards they carry. It attracts all the usual journeyman crusty socialist worker types who just seem to drift from cause to cause. You get the impression quite a few could not name the river or the sea.

I'm pretty sure Hamas would kill 70000 Israelis if they could.

But they haven’t. Israel has.

“Be triumphant and finish them off
and don’t leave anyone behind. Erase the memory of them. Erase them, their families, mothers and children. These animals can no longer live. Every Jew with a weapon should go out and kill
them. If you have an Arab neighbour, don't wait, go to his home and shoot him We want to invade,
not like before, we want to enter and destroy what’s in front of us, and destroy houses, then destroy the
ones after it. With all of our forces, complete destruction, enter and destroy. As you can see, we
will.” Ezra Yachin, Israeli Army reservist
and veteran speaking to soldiers.

“Whoever returns here, if they return
here after, will find scorched earth. No houses, no agriculture, no nothing. They have no future” - Colonel Yogev Bar- Sheshet, Israeli Army Colonel, Deputy Head of CO GAT

“I stick by one mitzvah to wipe off the
seed of Amalek. we know our slogan: there are no uninvolved civilians” - Group of Israeli soldiers

“Only an explosion that shakes the
Middle East will restore this country’s dignity, strength, and security! It’s time to kiss doomsday. Shooting powerful missiles without limit. Not flattening a neighbourhood. Crushing and flattening Gaza. Otherwise, we would have done nothing. Not with passwords, with penetrating bombs. Without mercy! Without mercy” Revital Gottlieb, Member of Knesset

“’May your village burn’!! Yes, yes,
as far as I’m concerned, it’s a great morale to wish Gaza to be wiped out and set on fire. I have often said revenge is a value." - Revital Gottlieb, Member of Knesset

There are no non-involved parties
either in Khan Yunis or in Sajaiya. Everyone there is mortal. This is the working assumption that
must be. Shell mercilessly from the air!" - Revital Gottlieb, Member of Knesset

“Hate the enemy. Hate the monsters.
Spend your energy on one thing;erasing all of Gaza from the face of the earth." - Galit Atbaryan,
Member of Knesset,

“Right now, one goal: Nakba!
A Nakba that will overshadow the Nakba of 48. Nakba in Gaza and Nakba to anyone who dares to
join!" Ariel Kallner,
Member of Knesset,

“The Gaza Strip should be flattened,
and there should be one sentence for everyone there – death. We have to wipe the Gaza Strip off the map. There are no innocents there.” Yitzhak Kroizer,
Member of Knesset,

“Today it’s simple. Everywhere you
go, you’re told, ‘Destroy them!’ In the kibbutzim, you’re told, ‘Destroy them!’ Even those working for the State Attorney that argued with me over internal political issues: ‘It’s clear we have to destroy all the Gazans' “Today it is clear to everyone that all Gazans must be destroyed”. - Moshe Saada, Politician

“I tell you, in Gaza without exception,
they are all terrorists, sons of dogs. They must be exterminated, all of them killed. We will flatten Gaza, turn them to dust, and the army will cleanse the area. Then we will start building new areas, for us."
Danny Neumann, former MK

I could keep going and going with all of these people who just 'want to protect Israel' and definitely don't want to destroy a nation or its people. If it sounds genocidal and acts genocidal, chances are it's probably genocidal.

Hear, hear.

Hamas was wrong to go to extremes and unconscionable behaviour on 7th OCT 2023.

But there's nothing good about the horrible extremists in the Israeli government. The #1 spreader of hate, evil and attempted genocide is Benjamin Netanyahu.

How is Hamas disarming going?

That's why Gaza is destroyed and why 70,000 Palestinians are dead, versus 2,000 Israelis.

Of the 70,000, at least half are Hamas terrorists, so absolutely legitimate targets.
So now you are left with 35,000 civilians out of 2,000,000 Palestinians.

Not much of a genocide, is it?

Also, a great many of the dead civilians are dead because Hamas use them as human shields or fight from densely populated locations for protection.

Your gripe should be with Hamas bringing this upon the Palestinians, and the Palestinians for supporting Hamas.
