Just seen party political broadcast by the Green Party. Zack Polanski telling it like it is. Billionaires taking rhe pee out of the rest of us while they make money for doing nothing. And if we tax them we get told they' ll leave. Well good. I'll buy them a ticket and give them a map. At last a politician who isn't mealy mouthed. Am I right or am I right. Stuff Reform. Long live Zack.

he doesn't sound sincere to me, but even if he did, sincerity alone is not enough

True. But it's a good place to start. Better than slimy Tony, ruthless Maggie, smug David , bonkers Boris. and snake oil Nigel..the list goes on...we could do with an honest person for a change.

There is a housing crisis because we don’t built anywhere near enough houses. That is largely due to the fact that it’s almost impossible to build anything due to NIMBYs.

Well that’s not entirely true. Second home ownership and landlordism are huge drivers of the crisis. There are also empty homes in a lot of places- whole streets full in some towns. Building more Lego houses on green sites and not building social housing are also bad answers to the problem.

I think legalising it would make it worse. I used ro live next to an alcoholic addict. The smell of his drugs was horrible,as was him wobbling about all over the place out of it . Also a couple of horrfic incidents of shouting snd banging and truly horrific vomiting sounds inside his place late at night a couple of times. I wss terrified. Also him hanging sbout with someone who later was in the paper having gone to prison for assault and drug dealing. And all that when drugs are illegal, so csn you even begin to imagine the horror for neighbours everywhere if these types suddenly thought they could do all this egally in full sight of everybody. There would be drink and drug fuelled parties on every street and rhe police wouldnt be able to do anything. I dont know what people are thinking when they say legalise it..

Alcoholism is a disease. You don’t sound very compassionate about it. Addicts need treatment.
Alcohol and drugs are also two different things.
When you say the smell do you mean there was a smell of weed? I hate the smell of weed, it’s vile. But let’s face it you can smell it pretty much anywhere and everywhere these days and it’s currently meant to be illegal. Given the fact that people round here walk up the road smoking a joint I’d say the war on drugs approach is a massive failure and it would be far better to decriminalise and deal with the gangs not the users

However, it won't be Zack Polanski. The search continues....

No. If they start doing crack and everything else in the open it will be vile. Do you remember the Hogarth pictured of gin alley and all that years ago. Every street , road, avenue will be like that. Or like LA with people living in drains etc.

The Green Party who support men's rights and trans women's rights are not a party for me. I support women's rights so cannot give them my vote.

Also there is a wise old saying: You cannot make poor men richer by making rich men poorer.

Zack Polanski makes Keir Starmer look competent. And that is some achievement.

I didn’t know drugs were legal in LA.
As for Gin Lane, most British cities look like that on a Friday night

I would feel safer (as a woman) around Zack Polanski than most politicians. In addition, there are many strong women in the Greens: Carla Denyer, Sian Berry, Caroline Lucas, Ellie Chowns.
Green Party policies would do more to better the lives of women than the majority of party’s policies would.

Great, when they stop prioritising men's sexual rights over women's right to safety, privacy and basic human dignity I'll give them another look. Polanski literally said it was "horrific" that males would be barred from entering women's single sex spaces after the supreme court ruling and he thinks that any woman who has a problem with men gaining access to women's single sex spaces is a bigot. He's a misogynist who doesn't give a shit about women or women's rights.

There are a tiny number of second homes.

Frankly, any type of housing needs to be built and the NIMBY whining about fields needs to be ignored.

That is not true- near to where I live many places are over 50% second homes, air b&bs etc.
Why would anyone want the countryside built over in a crisis in the natural world? There are brownfield sites, empty homes and so on.
Council housing should never have been sold off and social housing needed to be built.

here is an excellent take down of Zack Polanskis claims about the idle rich-
its More or Less, which is a great programme where they fact check outrageous or maybe just puzzling statistical claims

https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002kfn8

Like I said before I do believe there is a problem with the super rich but when people like him make exaggerated claims it damages the argument

BBC Radio 4 - More or Less, Does half the UK get more in benefits than they pay in tax?

UK benefits, Zack Polanski’s billionaire claim and Gen Z job interviews.

It’s a question of balance in the world isn’t it. You can denounce a whole party’s politics over one element or you could think, well, on balance let’s take the climate and inequality seriously first and foremost.

I remain to be convinced that GPEW have got a solution for either. Let alone that they might actually prioritise the environment. It barely gets a mention at the conference.

There is a housing crisis because we don’t built anywhere near enough houses. That is largely due to the fact that it’s almost impossible to build anything due to NIMBYs.

And the Greens are BANANAs (Build Absolutely Nothing Anywhere Near Anybody).

Imagine opposing an infrastructure project designed to provide a viable, clean alternative to short-haul flights and to boost rail capacity so that people can switch from their cars...

I beg to differ. You can definitely make poor people richer by taxing unnecessary levels of greed. Trickle down economics does not work.

ZP is a controlling, men’s rights activist - banning green women’s groups from their own party conference. Can’t believe I was once a member of this anti-science, authoritarian organisation.

(More) lawsuits on the horizon, and the litigants will, I hope, win (again).

Saw him on QT tonight alongside that Zya bloke from.Reform. Thought Zack was very credible compared to the other panellists. How Reform think they will balance the books with their pie in the sky policies is anyone's guess.

This is what Green MP thinks about the attack by trans activists on the building hosting the FiLiA feminist conference.
Again - I will never vote for this party so long as they spout anti-woman shit like this.

”Events that inflame division and create tension should be guarded against and
@BrightonHoveCC
needs better policies for which events it will host in our council-owned venues. The choice of Brighton was clearly provocative from organisers and the problems caused predictable.”

the disparity of wealth is a problem to a thriving economy - if one man has all the money and the other 99 don't have any money, then an economy will struggle but if you increase wages of the 99 men then they will spend more and the economy will thrive. Whilst you can make the 99 men rich by making the one man poor - you can pay fair wages so everyone has money to spend

It's a shame about the trans thing because I think ZACK is so credible on so many issues and a good communicator among a bunch of wet rags.
