Just seen party political broadcast by the Green Party. Zack Polanski telling it like it is. Billionaires taking rhe pee out of the rest of us while they make money for doing nothing. And if we tax them we get told they' ll leave. Well good. I'll buy them a ticket and give them a map. At last a politician who isn't mealy mouthed. Am I right or am I right. Stuff Reform. Long live Zack.

It's not funny in the slightest. He's a misogynist.

I was laughing at the idea that anyone could .make tits grow by mind power. It is funny..

It's funny until you realise that it's men like this who are in charge and have significant influence and power.

It's interesting in your earlier posts you talk about wanting to support trans people while still believing that women should have access to their single sex spaces. And you're very clear on the fact that not all trans people are bad.

You don't give women the same generosity with your assumptions. You made several sweeping statements about the terrible GC women and what they believe. Perhaps you might like to consider that there are many, many GC women who would be happy to support trans people if they weren't constantly trying to invade single sex spaces or claiming other hard-won rights (such as female spaces in a male-dominated environment, eg).

GC women are pissed off and frustrated because as a sex class, we are never anyone's priority. We are always expected to shuffle over and make room.

You say that Zack Polankski doesn't hate women and you believe that he is interested in women's rights. Funny though, he's not really talking about that. Not ever. He's not talking about the difficulties that women have had to deal with or the lack of equality. But he is REALLY concerned about men from his own community - the LGBTQ community which prioritises biological men. He's certainly talking a lot about the horrific Equality Act and the bigoted women who want to be safe from rapey men in single sex spaces. No condemnation for the rapey men, just the women who want to be safe.

We know that the number of trans people who want to rape or assault us is in the minority. But the same goes for anyone with a male body. The majority wouldn't hurt us. But we keep ALL of them out because it's impossible to tell - and that logic holds for the biological men in the trans community too.

It really is wearing trying to have to constantly explain such a basic tenet and to have to ask others to give women such a very minimal level of respect. It's even more wearing when you watch people like Polanski bend over backwards to accommodate and placate the very people who want to trample on women's rights.

This is why so many women on this thread are telling you the Green party is problematic.

And that's sickening really when many of us would like to give them our vote.

I rhin Its possible to think that women amd girls should have their own spaces and that drugs and surgery are not probabl the answer. But I thinkn itd also possible ro recognise that trans people are vulnerable and should be supported. I dislike the way some people talk about them. The language around that. I get that there is a group within the btrans community that is vicious and abusive towards women, but I doubt this behaviour is true of all trans people.

Why do we have single sex spaces? Because men as a class are a danger to women as a class, and we have no way of knowing which men are a danger, so we keep them all out.

Men as a class don’t stop being a danger because they identify as trans. Those men who identify as trans don’t stop being men. So we keep them out
of female spaces.

(Plus privacy and dignity, of course.)

Zack would consider what you just said to be transphobic and horrific. He wants you to forget those men are men and step aside for them, and while you’re at it, keep your mouth shut about any concerns you might have.

Did you know that, given the tiny number of men who identify as trans, that a disproportionate number of them are in prison for sex offences?

Ddakji · 07/10/2025 07:06

Also, @Daygloboo, you
might want to follow the Green Women Declaration. I think you’d be interested in what they have to say and agree with much of it.

Polanski banned them from the Green Party Conference.

He wants to take us out of NATO...

This and their stance on having nuclear weapons concerns me.

Id be all for getting rid of nukes one day, if the whole world does, but not unilaterally.

He’s right on some things, like billionaires and the environment of course.

North Korea doesn't have any millionairs too but it doesn't mean the population is any better off, a normal society has a variation between rich and poor, and the rich here are taxed a lot, in fact more millionairs are leaving the UK than are leaving China so we are loosing their tax revenue. Why is that good? It just increases the tax burden on the rest of us.

He also wants to ban landlords and private renting which would mean 17 million people would have to be re-housed by the state, more stateism and central control.
It's got a lot more in common with Communism than environmentalism these days, Communism has been a flat out disaster everywhere it's been tried though.

There is a massive housing crisis but sure let’s scream ‘communism’ every time someone proposes dealing with it.

Boomer55 · 07/10/2025 07:12

His background is hardly poor, working class, 🤷‍♀️

It’s a question of balance in the world isn’t it. You can denounce a whole party’s politics over one element or you could think, well, on balance let’s take the climate and inequality seriously first and foremost.

Getting back to your original contention.........

So the millionaires leave with your encouragement. How are you going to plug the huge financial hole?

@ShesTheAlbatross I was obviously giving him too much credit! He's a misogynist and an idiot it seems!

I would feel safer (as a woman) around Zack Polanski than most politicians. In addition, there are many strong women in the Greens: Carla Denyer, Sian Berry, Caroline Lucas, Ellie Chowns.
Green Party policies would do more to better the lives of women than the majority of party’s policies would.

Of course. But if a party of going to take a profoundly anti-science view on that one point, it raises questions over other scientific points they’re making.

Of course, what would work best is for the Greens to simply stick to environmental policies. We need strong voices on that subject in parliament. But they’ve veered off into other policies and that’s where they’ve run into trouble. I’m not voting for misogynists, nor do I tend to vote for hard left policies. Otherwise, I probably would vote Green.

I’m a woman and the mother of a daughter. Among other things, I vote for the party least likely to shit all over me and her. (Obviously, they all do to one extent or another.)

sagebasil · 07/10/2025 07:22

100 per cent agree with the OP.

Fortunately I'm not a transphobic loon - like so many on Mumsnet.

Mainly support Green Party as Labour has back-tracked a lot on their carbon-reducing policies

RedToothBrush · 07/10/2025 07:23

BunfightBetty · 06/10/2025 23:37

He's a repellent, financially illiterate, misogynistic, dangerous loon.

I think this is generous and overly flattering.

If the current Green Party did focus on the environment, then I would have a real dilemma, trying to decide whether I should vote for them despite the misogyny and rejection of the Cass Report.

With Zack as leader, it's easier to reject them. He isn't Green; he's an opportunistic politician who is just out for himself (the recent Private Eye profile was very good at revealing how he convinced 2 opposing factions in the Lib Dems that he was part of their group).

The environment was barely mentioned in his leader's speech at Conference. His pitch to members and voters is populism and trans rights.

jeaux90 · 07/10/2025 07:26

As a left women it’s a hard no. He’s a misogynist who thinks GC women should be banned from conference for their “behaviour” which mainly takes the form of science and handing out leaflets.

Anyone this stupid, arrogant,
misogynistic and misinformed does not deserve to be leader.

I wish that was their focus, climate change, energy, sustainability, equality. My kind of party!
Unfortunately, things seem to have taken a turn against this.

Wow the Polanski propaganda machine really going for it on mumsnet

Yeah, I did wonder about this too. Never heard of the guy, then suddenly feel like I’m looking at a bunch of threads praising him.

Looked him up out of curiosity and honestly, he doesn’t sound all that…credible, let’s just say.

The Greens haven’t felt like a viable option in ages though. Feeling very politically homeless for now. Fun times.

KatyaKanani · 07/10/2025 08:07

@cariadlet - you're spot on, and that's my problem, really. Instead of Green issues, it's about populism with a leader who doesn't respect women.

RedToothBrush · 07/10/2025 08:14

ElBandito · 07/10/2025 08:11

No one has mentioned he wants to legalise all drugs yet.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c20e20rzje2o

Is that because you have to have consumed lots of drugs to consider voting green and he thinks this will improve his election chances?

YouForgotToTurnItOff · 07/10/2025 08:14

He didn't get the memo that we know what men and women are now.
Any man who can bully women the way he does for knowing basic biology is not left leaning.

They don't pay the majority of their taxes, they PRETEND to be based here, while putting all their money offshore.

And they can afford to be bloody benevolent because they don't pay their taxes!

Views like yours really boil my piss.

Sigh! Chartered tax advisor here. The top 10% of earners pay more tax than the other 90%. Happy to help.

O can't believe that he doesn't support 50% of rhe electorate.. That would be mad..He probably thinkscthst it's possible to support both. And I do get the arguments that you can't do that but he would probably say you can and that it's not mutually exclusive.

But that’s exactly why we think he’s mad. Because he doesn’t support 50% of the electorate. That’s why we won’t even consider voting for him. Because he pisses all over the hard won rights of women. Why the hell would any woman with half a brain vote for this creep???
