Just seen party political broadcast by the Green Party. Zack Polanski telling it like it is. Billionaires taking rhe pee out of the rest of us while they make money for doing nothing. And if we tax them we get told they' ll leave. Well good. I'll buy them a ticket and give them a map. At last a politician who isn't mealy mouthed. Am I right or am I right. Stuff Reform. Long live Zack.

I suspect that Zack can tell it how it is because the Greens are so batshit on many other issues that they stand zero chance if getting anywhere near power. I think the truth is that governments all over the world are more beholden to billionaire party donors than they are to the electorate. The idea that governments are committed to enacting policy which serves the needs of their populations is only for the deluded.

Oh well that's all right rhen.

Yes i know .i mean they have a particular view of how that should translate in practical terms whereas Polanski believes in supporting trans people.

but not women

so that's why I don't support him

Yes i know .i mean they have a particular view of how that should translate in practical terms whereas Polanski believes in supporting trans people.

And now we know why you're a fan. Should have guessed.

The Green Party is now the trans party:

Green Women's Declaration were told that they could have a stall at last weekend's Conference but were then banned because attendees would have felt unsafe if they had to walk past a couple of middle aged women with leaflets.

One of their deputy leaders posed for a photo op where she and other Green Party members wore Protect the Dolls tshirts.

Worst of all, Conference voted for a "trans healthcare" motion which opposed the Cass Report, trampled over safeguarding and supported giving harmful puberty blockers to vulnerable children.

It’s possible to “support trans people” without believing that a) their rights trump women’s rights and b) children should be permanently mutilated before they’re old enough to fully understand the consequences of the decisions they’re making.

The Green Party thinks that both of those things are just fine and dandy.

GC women don’t.

It’s funny how no party ever makes women’s rights one of their hills to die on. Trans rights though? They’re queuing up to offer support and understanding there.

Women matter too. If a party shows that it is actively disinterested in protecting and safeguarding both women and children they won’t ever get my vote. I’d spoil my ballot before voting for them.

Supporting trans people by trampling all over the rights of women and girls.

A misogynist then, if you don’t like him being called anti-science.

O can't believe that he doesn't support 50% of rhe electorate.. That would be mad..He probably thinkscthst it's possible to support both. And I do get the arguments that you can't do that but he would probably say you can and that it's not mutually exclusive.

You didn't say, "Polanski says that he believes in supporting trans people," you said, "Polanski believes in supporting trans people."

It might be pedantic but there is a big difference in meaning between the two ways of reporting his position.

The latter suggests support for his position, including the implications of what he might mean by "supporting trans people" so I'm glad that this isn't what you meant.

He thinks single sex spaces are “horrific” and that the Equality Act defining sex as being biology, like everyone else does, is “transphobia”.

Yes, in an interview in The Canary, widely quoted elsewhere.

It’s very “problematic” for women and girls.

I’m sure it’s not pleasant to find out that someone you admire is actually a misogynistic shit, but this has been what the Greens have been for years now.

Shegotanology · 06/10/2025 21:38

I think if Farage got in, we'd have a lot more to worry about than single-sex spaces.

Zhu · 06/10/2025 21:39

I don’t know how you can say he’s not a snake oil salesman when he literally said he could grow women’s boobs with hypnosis. He’s not got a hope of taking the Greens to election success, and I can’t believe the party voted him in.

So women shouldn’t concern themselves with other parties’ policies that are damaging for women?

Why?

He has said similar things on many occasions. He pushed for the decision to allow GWD to have a stall at Conference to be reversed and long before he was elected leader, he said that GCs weren't welcome in the Green Party.

I used to be a member and have many friends who have been suspended or expelled or have resigned in disgust because of what has happened to the Green Party.

Ddakji · 06/10/2025 21:39

Of course you should. When you vote for a party, you should surely consider all its policies. You should also look at their track record.

Crikeyalmighty · 06/10/2025 21:48

He’s an opportunistic weirdo , except at the opposite end of the spectrum to Farage - basically telling a load of mainly 20 somethings what they want to here without any practical experience of financially how society pays for it - take his idea of no landlords- council has to buy all the property up again - how exactly does fe think that would be funded apart from borrowing money, which then has to be paid back - we rent, and rent an extremely nice house too - I’m sure the council would be delighted to have to buy our £900,000 k value house !! And we’ve got quite a few like that round here- and no we don’t want to rent a 1 bed flat off council either - I’m not a Tory but I am a realist - my son is 27 and centre left and he profoundly disagrees with him too but thinks an awful lot are naive enough to go with it - I think living for a few years in Bristol made my son realise what happens if you let unrealistic people have power, however well meaning.

I rhin Its possible to think that women amd girls should have their own spaces and that drugs and surgery are not probabl the answer. But I thinkn itd also possible ro recognise that trans people are vulnerable and should be supported. I dislike the way some people talk about them. The language around that. I get that there is a group within the btrans community that is vicious and abusive towards women, but I doubt this behaviour is true of all trans people.

Yrs I do find that a bit problematic but has he actuslly said that

From Zack Polanski declares unwavering support for trans community: "Solidarity is non-negotiable" (in Scenemag)

His leadership comes at a time of heightened debate around trans rights in the UK, particularly following a controversial Supreme Court ruling that defined “sex” in legal terms as “biological sex”. Polanski responded to the ruling by calling it “thinly veiled transphobia” and pledged “unconditional” support for trans people.

Polanski also criticised recent advice from the Equalities and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) suggesting transgender people be excluded from single-sex spaces, calling it “horrific”.

From Polanski's Insta, quoted in Pink News (Where gay Green Party leader Zack Polanski stands on trans rights)

“Deep irony that they call this ‘practical’ implications when it’s anything but. A consequence of the awful reporting around the Supreme Court often missing fundamental facts from the ruling. This is just more thinly veiled transphobia. The mask is off.”

And he believes that LGBTIQA+ suffer more from the climate crisis than others so sees no conflict in standing up for trans and other rights (Pink News, ibid.)

Asked if he acknowledged wholeheartedly that fighting for LGBTIQA+ liberation goes hand in hand with fighting the climate crisis, he pledged: “Yes. Our LGBTIQA+ siblings often face even deeper inequalities from the climate crisis. Both through fighting fossil fuel barons or anti-lgbtiqa+ hate, it’s the same systems of violence and exploitation that we must oppose.”
