Just seen party political broadcast by the Green Party. Zack Polanski telling it like it is. Billionaires taking rhe pee out of the rest of us while they make money for doing nothing. And if we tax them we get told they' ll leave. Well good. I'll buy them a ticket and give them a map. At last a politician who isn't mealy mouthed. Am I right or am I right. Stuff Reform. Long live Zack.

What, like Reform.you mean

Yes, I suppose it's that same kind of populism. Opposite ends of the migration debate, but neither really know how it can be done.

What, like Reform.you mean

Yes. Exactly like Reform.

Even Labour has found that it's very easy to say "We will grow the economy!", and then discover that the economy doesn't work like that.

He’s a horrible misogynist and has no grasp of science. It’s incredibly easy to state all the amazing stuff you’d do when you have no chance of ever being in a position of doing it, so you don’t have to provide any actual details just the soundbite headlines.

This is a good point.

Ironically he’s doing the same as Farage - both of them have policies that are economically and practically unviable but as they’ve never even had a whiff of power they can just make up ideology to suit their demographic.

A party that consistently refuses to consider the safety and dignity of women is a party that’s content to prop up misogyny. On that basis, I wouldn’t vote for the Greens if you paid me.

Equally though, I’d never vote for Farage either. Reform are vile.

I’m a left-leaning voter that’s politically lost, like many other women.

I know many women who would vote Green if it weren’t for their inherent misogyny. Such a wasted opportunity. Same as Lib Dems. In a time when the two main parties are such a state, there’s a gap for a party to establish themselves - the only party who isn’t eating itself alive is bloody Reform. I don’t know what the actual fuck the left-leaning parties are up to.

Frankly I don't see a lot of difference between him and Farage. Two chancers out for themselves.

Ha! Cross-posted with you but exactly this!

FutureMarchionessOfVidal · 06/10/2025 19:53

I think he’s great.

He stands out to me as being a real politician with views & principles who’s in it because he wants to make a difference & has actual policies - as opposed to the other so called ‘politicians’ who are basically just third rate actors, corrupt grifters pretending to the gullible electorate that they have any interest in anything other than feathering their own nests.

Starmer for instance clearly cares only about what opportunities he will be offered when he leaves office- non-exec directorship at Boeing? NATO role? Mega bucks NGO like Tony Blair? The political role is just a useful stepping stone to the real money for him. That’s why he clearly cares so little about re-election prospects.

Zack on the other hand has actual views and policies and principles - whether or not one agrees with them. (I don’t agree with all of his, including the madness about women’s spaces.) He’s not all about the money and the freebies, & sadly in UK politics today that makes him very unusual.

Where did you get the idea that "Starmer for instance clearly cares only about what opportunities he will be offered when he leaves office- non-exec directorship at Boeing?"? What has given you the 'clear' idea that this is what he's in politics for?

ZP is a twat. He's an egotistical, self-serving twat with questionable views on women if I'm being charitable, a snake-oil career behind him (hypnoboobs ffs) and will twist in the wind to appease what he views as his core voters. Sadly the Greens are no longer about sound environmental politics and all about whichever social justice ideas are currently enjoying their 15 minutes of popularity.

KatyaKanani · 06/10/2025 20:15

@SpidersAreShitheads - I couldn't agree more, I'm a former Green voter. They've lost me now. I even read through all the recent stuff and listened to Polanski. Nope.

EasternStandard · 06/10/2025 19:55

He talked about requisitioning ownership, ie just stealing it back from shareholders without payment. Sounds mad.

Then again he might get younger voters.

You mean the village idiots, jew haters, trans loons and terror simps? Sure.

suburberphobe · 06/10/2025 20:21

would mean 17 million people would have to be re-housed by the state

Better get your tools out then tomorrow eh?

I do think the state has a responsibility to house their citizens, either by house-building or lowering taxes on home buyers. A pipe dream I know living in a capitalist society.

As he believes men can turn into women, I cannot take anything he says seriously. Then he’s also a sleaze who thinks he can inflate women’s breast size with hypnosis…

All of this. I wouldn't vote for them anyway due to the complete disregard for womens single sex spaces, but creepy Hypnotits just seals the deal really 😂

I rthonk that's a bit cynical. I think he is more sincere than that. You might not agree with some policies, but where does he come across as a charlatan?.. I dont see any evidence of that..He's a little awkward in his delivery perhaps..but not, imo, a snake oil salesman..

I don't think any politician has quite got my back up as quickly as this guy ! And the way those people at conference kept giving him standing ovations for his idiotic ramblings- bunch of sheep.

KatyaKanani · 06/10/2025 20:28

He also quoted Tony Benn in a way that showed he had no understanding of Benn's point. Oh and the hypnotherapy business? 🤮

Reform does eat itself alive. They lose an MP every week. I wonder how long Nadine Dorries will be around before there is some almighty bust up with Farage or that other ghastly individual st thevtop and she gets kicked out..Watch this space.

Anyone who believes in self-ID is a snake oil salesman. Surely you can see that it’s profoundly anti-science which stretches credulity about anything he says?

Wel it's a GC view. That is a particular point of view.

No, it’s a science- and reality-based fact. There is no credible science that supports a man becoming a woman. None. Anyone who claims otherwise is indeed a snake oil salesman.

Shegotanology · 06/10/2025 20:33

He's the best of a bad bunch. We've had a Tory/Tory light government since the 80s and look at the shit we're in.

labamba18 · 06/10/2025 20:33

The top one percent pay 30% of tax in the UK. If they leave we will lose a lot. It’s not trickle down economics here @Dayglobooit’s tax revenue we will lose out on.

cariadlet · 06/10/2025 20:41

He's a creepy, self serving misogynist who is only out for himself.
For anyone who was taken in by his broadcast, I'd recommend reading this thread.

Biological reality is biological reality whatever Zak thinks

either he's a total idiot who can't understand biology

or and what i suspect in the case, he knows perfectly well what a woman is but is utterly prepared to lie about

neither of those make me even slightly inclined to vote green so yep still politically homeless

finallygettingit · 06/10/2025 20:43

I just watched it
actually I agree with him about a wealth tax, and I think he's right that most ordinary people don't get the scale of some people's wealth...they think wealthy people are those who live in the big houses on the other side of town and believe- well, they worked hard for that money, they took risks/have a lot of responsibility/create jobs....and we need people like that. And yes we do. But those aren't the super rich, we never see those people.

BUT I will never vote for this man and am unlikely to vote for any green candidate for parliament for all the reasons mentioned here- most especially their disregard for women's interests and safety and voices and their endorsement of the mutilation of children. All that particular brand of madness is going to come crashing down sooner rather than later and we will have a scandal that makes Thalidomide look like a minor scandal. Unfortunately for Zack Polanski and his ilk, their wilful blindness to science and common sense has been well documented by themselves and it will be grimly entertaining watching them try to excuse themselves.

Meanwhile, we have climate and extinction crises which he, the leader of the Green Party somehow failed to mention.

I am actually a Green Party member though god knows for how much longer. I know many people doing excellent boring work on local councils actually trying to improve things for ordinary people, showing commitment both to the environment and social justice. I'm happy to vote for them IF and only if they can explain to me how and why they will defend women and children.

Hellohelga · 06/10/2025 20:47

He’s going to kill the Green Party stone dead. Can’t think who vote for him. Humourless, hectoring, intellectually challenged. Believes in environmental science but not biological science.

SnackQueen · 06/10/2025 20:48

Yawn. He’s a total charlatan. He knows absolutely nothing about anything. It’s all soundbites and hashtags. If he taxed the rich he’d have to tax his own family and even he isn’t stupid enough to do that.

KatyaKanani · 06/10/2025 20:49

Unfortunately, @Hellohelga , I think you're right. I was looking for the clear, sound environmental policies, but it's just taken a low priority.

Yes i know .i mean they have a particular view of how that should translate in practical terms whereas Polanski believes in supporting trans people.
