Nearly 500 arrested for support for Palestinian Action Group a proscribed terrorist organisation

This is getting ridiculous. The same group, think they can do what they want which includes, using a sledgehammer to attack a person, breaking into a military base and causing millions of pounds worth of damage. Hatred towards Jewish people.

It appears these people feel the law doesn't apply to them. None of the above is peaceful protest. Stronger sentences or fines are needed.

They seems hate filled but only have compassion for their cause. None for Jewish people, none for people including children who are dying around the world anywhere but Gaza. None at all for others, it feels like a cult.

My husband said the same thing last night.

CopperWhite · 05/10/2025 09:23

These people were peacefully protesting and only needed to be arrested to make a political point. To arrest that many people who were sitting doing nothing except holding signs, it shows that they never really needed to ask for the protests to be called of yesterday. If there was work the police should have been doing elsewhere to protect the Jewish community like they said, they’d have done it, but clearly they had plenty of time to arrest peaceful pensioners.

It’s frightening isn’t it?

And they honestly believe they’re the good guys.

It costs the country millions in police hours, other costs etc. It disrupts so many people and it doesn't actually achieve anything but make a section of the UK community fearful.

The messages they shout or scream are often hateful. What good is it. Are these individuals so deluded they think this constant inciting of hate helps anyone?

Signs supporting a proscribed terrorist organisation. Some feel they are above the law. They don't care about the law. Obviously in a functional society we need laws, although some feel laws don't apply to them. What they do doesn't actually help in Gaza.

Im a UK citizen that walked through a protest several months ago and felt really uncomfortable and I'm not Jewish.

Why is it when people don't support the protesters we are called bots or Israeli spreaders if something or another. Why are WE nit allowed to disagree with the marches? Ridiculous.

They have the same mindset as Extinction Rebellion. And, actually, I think they are doing damage to their chosen cause, rather then helping it.

No one is above the law.

PropertyD · 05/10/2025 09:31

They are useful idiots. The cost of this would be better used for other things. They are obsessed with just one cause. Meanwhile Trump is doing things that just might change things. Calm it down you fools

I agree.

And they didn’t even have the decency to hold off for one bloody week as a mark of respect.

How morally bankrupt do you have to be to continue doing something you know is going to make a community which has just experienced a terror attack even more fearful?

I honestly despair.

I agree. When they cover faces with masjs and scarfs and chant they are quite intimidating.

Has the Israeli government held off on killings as a mark of respect to the dead children?

I was in London recently and was grabbed by an elderly person demanding that I join the march.

They are obsessed with this.

I’m German and married to a Brit, living in the UK.

I only comment on this topic because I am honestly so disgusted with what I’m seeing.

lampshadez · 05/10/2025 09:34

The country is broke, a hefty fine would be helpful.

PropertyD · 05/10/2025 09:36

Fines are actually a great idea.

Here is who the police are calling terrorists. Elderly people who can barely get up.

Elderly people who can barely get up

Presumably they got up several times in order to get to there?

Is it possible that the bombs and bullets this country (the UK) sells to Israel makes a section of the Palestinian population fearful?

The police don’t just wake up and decide what laws to enforce today. I am sure they’re pretty fed up with having to spend all their time on these marches.
It’s a shame the group has such a neutral sounding name. Who wouldn’t agree that action on Palestine is important? If they were called Palestinian Jihad for the extinction of Israel or something then people might think a bit harder.

We sell arms to other countries used in other conflicts but apparently that doesn't gain any interest. I understand we dont actually sell actual bombs or actual bullets to Israel anyway, but parts of things, but if we did, what about the other countries we sell to. Seems nowhere else matters, very cult like.

I hope so much that these are bots on mumsnet.

I'm definitely not a bot.

But they’re straight onto any pro-Palestinian threads here like wasps to honey.

This isn't a pro palestinian thread?

Same rhetoric over and over again. Need their heads checking if they’re not bots.

And yet here you are with the same rhetoric?
