To think that if you commit a male crime, you should do male time, even if you identify as a woman?

TheAvidAmberPeer · 01/10/2025 21:09

I know this is a sensitive topic but I’ve been thinking about how justice systems handle trans women who commit serious crimes, especially violent or sexual offences, and whether it’s fair to house them in women’s prisons. To me, if you were born male and commit a crime typically associated with male offenders, particularly one involving violence against women, it seems like common sense that you should serve time in a male facility. Identity doesn’t erase biology or risk in those cases.

AIBU to think fairness and safety, especially for vulnerable female prisoners, should come before ideology?

She speaks for most women. You do you @Tandora

Tandora · 04/10/2025 23:25

Dr Upton has had no complaints from patients, nor most of her colleagues.

He has a history of stalking, harassment, and writing down the names of women who wouldn't undress in front of him at the previous hospital he worked at before Fife. He was in trouble at his previous hospital, too. He has form and is a clearly a very dangerous, abusive and predatorial man.

Namelessnelly · 04/10/2025 23:30

I find it very telling that there are still people determined to override women’s needs and wishes by any means possible. It’s like they missed the whole “no means no” campaign.

No she doesn’t. The type of extremism expressed by @MissScarletInTheBallroom yourself and others is not remotely common in the real world - only on mumsnet. But not even as much on mumsnet as it appears - people are afraid to speak because of the vicious bullying of anyone who dares to challenge you.

Absolute rubbish. God I feel so absolutely sorry for DU - she has done nothing wrong and yet she has just been made such an example of by those with such a vicious anti-trans agenda.

As poll after poll in the real world shows, she speaks for the overwhelming majority of women.

It's not rubbish, it all came out in the Tribunal. You can't deny all that.

Alucard55 · 04/10/2025 23:34

Tandora · 04/10/2025 23:28

You don’t speak for women or ‘women’s needs’. You speak for yourself.

And no one is disputing the existence of women in reality or law.

Women exist AND trans people exist. At the same time. Fascinating stuff isn’t it? There can be more than one thing in reality and law and stuff.

Do you want screenshots from the tribunal? Why are you lying. You can find the information for yourself. Everything I said is true and anyone who followed the tribunal knows this.

Yes, Tandora, despite the best efforts of the trans activist lobby to ensure otherwise, the Supreme Court has confirmed that women exist, and trans people also exist, and that the word sex in the Equality Act has its normal meaning, which means that a changing room with Beth Upton in it is not a female changing room.

Do keep up.

No they don’t. Give it a rest with your witch hunt against Dr U. She is a lovely doctor who was unfortunately subject to the harassment and bullying of a very racist, transphobia and generally unpleasant nurse called SP and has now got caught up in a wider political row and is being made an example of.

You’re completely out of touch with what the average person thinks, like most trans rights activists/supporters.

this is the same poster who denied writing posts even after screenshots were produced. I don’t think reality and this poster are on speaking terms.

Yes, they do. You're lying. And no, I won't give it a rest with a filthy sexual predator of a man who stalks, harasses, bullies and abuses nurses. He is a dangerous sociopath who needs to be locked away from all women, so give your defence of this pos a rest, and stop witch hunting a decent, hardworking nurse with an unblemished record of 30 years.

He’s currently facing a harassment claim for allegedly bullying and sexually harassing Sandie Peggie. You don’t know very much about it, do you?

Yes, I saw them. They aren't even human to write that, or I can only imagine a person who would do that is a male that gets off on womens discomfort.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 04/10/2025 23:41

And whether or not she’s “unpleasant” isn’t a justification for her to be bullied, harassed by a man and discriminated against by her employer.

That’s what I’m starting to think. No one who has been to be a victim of SA would write those things. To tell a victim of rape that their distress at sharing a space with males is not important, and to mock a rape victim worried about receiving same sex care. It is honestly disgusting.

This is why you think everyone on mumsnet agrees with you. They are too afraid to speak, because this is how nasty you are.

I see you for who you are and it won’t stop me from telling the truth, which is that trans experience is real, it is valid and there is nothing whatsoever wrong with being trans. It’s no threat to you, it’s not threat to women, it’s no threat to anyone. It’s just another facet of the beautiful tapestry of human diversity.

Yes you have been, and to a female victim of a male sexual predator with form at not one, but two hospitals for bullying and sexual harassment.

Namelessnelly · 04/10/2025 23:44

Oh Noes @NeonFish you've been called nasty! By a random on the Internet! What will you do now? How will you go on?

Read your own posts, and you will see nasty.

And forget mumsnet, poll after poll in the real world show the public agrees with us. Those polls get better and better as each year goes by. 🙂
