Amanda Holden's daughter is now a model

Amanda is whinging saying that no-one should call her a nepo baby, she earned her modelling contract by herself

The kid is a nepo baby sorry 😭😭😭 - but what's so wrong with that?!

Just own it. Amanda bringing attention to it has just made it worse imo

Yanbu - the kid is a nepo baby
Yabu - the kid isnt a nepo baby and achieved this contract all by herself, no-one should ever call her a nepo baby ever!

I mean, both can be true.

To paraphrase Arthur Ransome (Swallows and Amazons), 'if not duffers, won't drown'.

That is, of course having Amanda as her mum helped to get her foot in the door. Of course it did! But, if she is not a duffer, she will do well through her own talent. If she is purely nepo with no talent, she will soon drown.

(cf. Brooklyn Beckham who has had all the opportunities, but a duffer of a career to date.)

I do wonder if the she’s not a nepo baby schtick is just to make everyone Google who she is and raise her profile. Good looking girl, having a famous mum will help. Amanda Holden’s face though, fucking hell, looks ok in pictures but its just so weirdly filled it’s hard to watch her talk.

What’s a nepo baby?

Nepo comes from the word nepotism where someone gets advantages in life/career due to the power & influence of relatives/friends.

So a nepo baby is a child of parents whose success has given them a head start

Look at how many celebrities have grown up children who are now models. It’s not a coincidence.

I think definitely who the parents know than actual talent.

She's very pretty in the airbrushed photos. I wouldn't say there is anything more special than thousands of other girls. But because of who her mum is, shes in the circle already.

Yeah they all say the same. Kate Winslet was adamant her daughter isn’t a nepo baby. Ridiculous really.

As others have said, they need to own it. Yes my kid got a foot in the door with my help. However from then on it’s all her / his own work / responsibility. They’d all be a lot more respected if they did this.

It’s always been the case. Nicholas Cage, Jamie Lee Curtis, Cumberbatch, Lily Allen, Eddie redmayne, Emilia fox, blah blah, millions of them. If someone is famous and successful without any kind of leg up, they’re usually the truly special / talented ones. Eg. Marilyn monroe, Ricky gervais, Bob Mortimer, Cary grant etc etc

Good (expensive) products can certainly help .
I am a Rimmel price range person but my DM treated me to a Clinique foundation and the difference is noticeable, and that's only foundation .

Loads of Nepo-babies … wonder how Tilly Ramsey got that cooking show on CBBC… the one that Gordon Ramsey always appears on.

The Nepo’s don’t seem to understand that having access to the Contacts that thier Parents have made, and using those, in order to further thier career is Nepotism.

It makes no difference if they are talented, lots of young people are … they have advantages via Nepotism, that other young people don’t have.

I wish they would just admit it
