Amanda Holden's daughter is now a model

Amanda is whinging saying that no-one should call her a nepo baby, she earned her modelling contract by herself

The kid is a nepo baby sorry 😭😭😭 - but what's so wrong with that?!

Just own it. Amanda bringing attention to it has just made it worse imo

Yanbu - the kid is a nepo baby
Yabu - the kid isnt a nepo baby and achieved this contract all by herself, no-one should ever call her a nepo baby ever!

Amanda Holden commenting on anything feels like a desperate move to stay relevant.

Her daughter is very beautiful, as 19-year-old privileged folks tend to be.

CatHairEveryWhereNow · 30/09/2025 11:36

The Nepo’s don’t seem to understand that having access to the Contacts that thier Parents have made, and using those, in order to further thier career is Nepotism.

I think they only know the hard work to make it once in the room once contacts open the door - and are just blind to how bloody hard it is to get near the door or to get it open by yourself.

Tbf the Victorians thought actresses were little more than prostitutes.

Absolutely
A Gt Gt Grandmother of mine was "on the stage" (Music Halls in her case over in the East End) and Men would, at times, accost Her in the streets if she was in a rush and had kept her heavy make up on.
She once told my Grandmother that "If I had a sovereign for all the times I was accosted I'd be a rich old Woman now"

What’s a nepo baby?

Nepo baby = beneficiary of nepotism generally, specifically the child of famous parents, often in the entertainment industry having success in the same or similar fields to their parent(s), who receives (or is accused of receiving) 'legs up' e.g. through connections of their parent(s) or because agents, producers etc know that casting or making an album of 'XYZ celebrity's daughter/son' will draw a lot more attention/views than a random unknown even if equally talented. So less direct nepotism of the wealthy literally buying success/bribery to get their kids through the door, more indirect that through no active decision or action of the child or their parents purely they get an advantage purely because of who they are.

My take for what it's worth is that (a) it's not a new thing, while we may have just recently invented this term rich and famous parents have been giving their children advantages since the dawn of time (b) I think while obviously it can feel unfair on all sides, both for the nepo baby themselves who can't help who they are and face a lifetime of their achievements and talent denigrated as only because of who they are but also of course the no less talented and hard working people who don't get the same success as the nepo babies purely because of their (lack of) famous name (c) we really tend to underestimate the importance of genetic inheritance, of course the child of beautiful, talented people is very likely to be beautiful and talented themselves, and they're brought up with an understanding of the industry and what it takes to succeed from day 1, a
a familiarity with the environment and requirements of a film set or recording studio or whatever. So really we shouldn't be so suspicious when they turn out to be very accomplished actors/musicians/models/sports people...

Tom cruise - not a fan but he has made his success from day 1. With no family / wealthy background help.

Edited

He was married to a Hollywood actress.

ilovepixie · 30/09/2025 11:46

Who actually cares.

She's very average looking.

Don't lower yourself to this point, where you're commenting on the looks of a young girl. Sometimes, it really is better to say nothing at all.

TorroFerney · 30/09/2025 11:54

ShuffleOn · 30/09/2025 11:06

Of course she’s a nepo baby.

Amanda Holden just needs to own it and say, yeh, having a famous mum has helped her get her foot in the door.

Look at how many celebrities have grown up children who are now models. It’s not a coincidence.

Agree. Why wouldn’t you as a parent help your child, it’s a bonkers criticism. I may use my contacts to get my child a foot in the door for a Saturday job. It’s just parenting.

BettyTurpinPies · 30/09/2025 11:56

@ilovepixie , Amanda Holden. She gets to put the spotlight on herself.

@SweetTalkinWookie , I don't think she is "very beautiful".
as 19-year-old privileged folks tend to be. - there are plenty of celebrity offspring who are a strange mishmash of their very good-looking parents.

One nepo-baby who is beautiful is Kaia Gerber. i think she would have been succcessful without her background, but having rich successful parents probably helped.

RepublicOfPirates · 30/09/2025 11:56

Slightly sidetracking but I did snigger when I saw she was hosting the tv show Cheaters..hello Neal!

lifeonmars100 · 30/09/2025 11:57

She's a very pretty girl in the way that a lot young women are at that age, smooth skin, glossy hair, bright eyes and good muscle tone. Add the advantages of wealth and access to great hairdressers, beauty treatments and stylists and she is off to a flying start. I am guessing that as she is Amanda Holden's daughter she will have been raised in a home where there is a lot of emphasis on looks and being in the public eye so it is not very likely she will aspire to pursue further education

3peassuit · 30/09/2025 11:57

I suppose it’s following your parents into the family business. My son in law is a solicitor like his mother and grandfather before that, does that make him a nepo baby?

BettyTurpinPies · 30/09/2025 11:59

@3peassuit , no, that's not the same thing.

SweetTalkinWookie · 30/09/2025 12:02

I mean, if you happen to be born with a terrible nose, you can get it fixed. Or if you have bad acne, you'll see the best dermatologists. It's a lot easier to be beautiful with money and parents who understand the value of looks.

InMyShowgirlEra · 30/09/2025 12:03

She's a pretty girl but so are many 19 yo girls, especially those with access to the best diet, clothes, skincare and personal trainers. I wouldn't notice her if she walked by me to be completely honest. But then a lot of the best models aren't stereotypically pretty as contrary to popular belief there's a lot more to modelling- we'll have to see if she's able to make a real career of it.

She is absolutely a nepo baby and it's really silly to claim she's not. It makes the whole family look entitled and whiny. Danny Dyer has outright said that Dani is a nepo baby. I have a lot more respect for that.

Kids with famous parents, who have all the best advice, connections and are always at the events where they might be seen and noticed, are always going to have a big head start on being famous themselves. The sad thing is that recently it seems that fewer and fewer deserving and talented people from ordinary backgrounds are being able to be noticed and establish careers.

Cherrytree86 · 30/09/2025 12:03

ozarina · 30/09/2025 11:30

She's very average looking.

@ozarina

sorry you are wrong, she is above average. Unless you are surrounded by absolutely stunners amongst your family and friends and your views are skewed as a result. But I doubt you are.

PinkPanther57 · 30/09/2025 12:03

Modelling alone not very consistent or well paid. Guess influencing role plus etc though possibly leading to presenting.

WhathappenedYesterday · 30/09/2025 12:08

She will probably do averagely well for a model. To be fair it’s not like she looks that much like her mum she looks more like her dad so people might not immediately associate them. When googling I did however notice that the younger daughter is beautiful if she goes into modelling she would do exceptionally well.

PinkPanther57 · 30/09/2025 12:03

That's the thing though.

I dabbled in modelling in my 20s and always did a lot of am dram, but in order to really make a go of becoming an actress/ model, I'd have had to be available every day, and pay a lot of money in outfits, travel and grooming in order to attend casting calls and auditions. In fact, the first few years of any type of career like that you probably pay out more than you earn and do a lot of things for exposure and to get noticed. Even with all that, without connections, you don't have much chance of "making it".

I couldn't do that, I needed to go to work and pay my rent and I didn't have spare money to fly to Paris for a casting call.

Dweetfidilove · 30/09/2025 12:08

I never understand the whinging around this.
If I have connections, I will use them to help my children get to where they wish to; and I'm sure we all do that on some level.

If she is/ knows has gotten her to the catwalk, but she's had some lessons and can actually model, I'll say good for her and move on🤷🏾‍♀️.

If who she is/knows has gotten her to the catwalk, but she's absolutely hopeless, I may eyes and move on 🤷🏾‍♀️.

I can't imagine anyone is really that invested.

BettyTurpinPies · 30/09/2025 11:59

@3peassuit , no, that's not the same thing.

Law is an areas it can help to have contacts - arts fields is another.

https://www.legalfutures.co.uk/latest-news/students-think-they-need-connections-to-progress-legal-career

Students and graduates with a legal connection were more likely than average to have undertaken legal work experience (67%), whereas those without connections were less likely than average.
Low SE students and graduates were also less likely to have done legal work experience (58%) than those from high SE backgrounds (71%).
The report said: “There is a perception, particularly amongst low SE students, that there is a lack of legal work experience available, and this is seen as a significant barrier.

Sibling tried to get into field - DH says if they'd been brilliant probably could have managed it they were sort of high average in a crowded field with no contacts so move sideways into something else where law degree wasn't needed but was a benefit.

Students think they need connections to progress legal career

A significant number of students think nepotism and connections are important to progress in the law, according to research which found that this did indeed help some get jobs.

It’s Amanda Holden, never knowingly missing and opportunity for a bit of attention so of course she’s shouting about this for a bit of mutual publicity for both of them whether she believes it or not…

I had a look and you're not wrong.

I'll see her many times over on the school run this evening.

IfHeWantedToHeWould · 30/09/2025 12:14

Nicole Kidman’s daughter, Noel Gallagher’s daughter, Madonna’s daughter. All ‘models’ that no way in hell would they have been if it wasn’t for their parents.

Cherrytree86 · 30/09/2025 12:14

Amanda Holden has THE best nose. It’s perfect. And no not, not a nose job, unless she had one when very young I guess - way before her LD marriage
