Reform voters may not be racist but they are at least dangerously naive

AIBU to accept that some Reform voters may not actually be racist, but to be pretty certain that, if they're not, they are at the very least dangerously naive?

I thought we all got taught at school about how fascism took over in 1939s Germany? And there's so much out there at the moment showing why we are at a dangerous turning point in history again.

Why is it that the so-called non-racist Reform voters not see that they are aligning themselves with a covertly racist and fascist-leaning party and that their support risks tipping the balance towards a fascist dictatorship in the UK?

So, this thread in the topic of immigration has been interesting.

As always, I have learnt a lot. Open discussion of this topic on this scale is fairly new and has been very informative.

The insults, derision and lack of actual rational explanations from some parts have been enlightening. That sort of behaviour betrays some unpleasant character traits and generally indicates a weak case.

Maybe unsurprisingly, that approach has not convinced me of their arguments so I will continue discussing and learning from others on here.

Totally agree with the OP. It is naive. Even the idea that Reform will be able to wave a magic wand to stop dinghies coming over the channel is absolutely unrealistic, let alone the 30’s Germany flying right over their heads.

There’s so many obvious holes in the Reform approach it’s difficult to see how people have such faith.

The vast majority of muslims in this country dont want sharia law. They want democracy, that's why they live here and have settled here. Of course some Muslims have negative attitude towards women but so do a lot of white men. Is that not an issue though because they are white. A women is most likely to be hurt or murdered by her spouse not some random stranger on the street. My point is the very Muslims you seem to fear (and these are the minority of muslims in ky experience) have the same ideas and opinions about women as reform do. Reform have voted against legislation to tackle stalking, legislation to tackle harassment, upskirting, and spiking of drinks.

Is this an acceptable price to pay for diversity and multiculturalism, in your view? Is this something our society has benefited from? Thousands upon thousands of young girls as collateral damage in pursuit of this ideal?

I did shriek like a loser when someone left the kitten at my door. I was sat right by the window so was watching and wondering what they were doing. My door is 6 ft from the road!

I am really glad though that they left it at my house, and not completely alone. Could have been worse.

It seems fairly happy.
This both pleases and upsets me. I dont really want it but I expect that's it now. Noone else will take it will they?!

My cat died about a year ago. I keep toying with the idea of adopting another one. I sort of wish one would turn up on my doorstep and take the decision out of my hands!

Pedophiles are abhorrent irrelevant of their ethnicity or colour. Let's not forget the Catholic church were involved in the systematic abuse of children, but we dont assume all priests are pedophiles. What those men did to those poor children was disgusting and they deserve every ounce of punishment they get and more.
