How will you mark the occasion? Cheering him on as he parades through London? Trying to catch a glance? Not caring? Etc

My DDs boyfriend is in the police and has been able to book overtime to help police this.

He will now have enough to buy the engagement ring he wants to propose to DD with.

At least there is a positive to his trip!

Bikergran · 16/09/2025 06:48

As I live far away from where the orange buffoon will be, I shall do nothing. If I was nearby I would turn up with a "Trump is still a cunt" placard. I feel sorry for the Royal Family and the Cabinet having to entertain/be polite to this vile POS.

Anothercoffeeafter3 · 16/09/2025 06:57

We were excited when Bush visited and did attend the route but not this idiot

BallerinaRadio · 16/09/2025 06:58

Totally unmoved. The man is unfit to hold office.

ObliviousCoalmine · 16/09/2025 06:59

What is there to be excited about precisely?

DorothyGaleFromKansas · 16/09/2025 07:00

You want the people of Britain to get excited about the red carpet being rolled out for a rapist and felon? Can I ask why?

Smartiepants79 · 16/09/2025 07:00

Why would I be excited? He’s an awful, divisive, dangerous man.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/09/2025 07:01

Excited? Are you on glue?

It’s an unnecessary, wasteful and sycophantic pandering to a deranged dictator.

elprup · 16/09/2025 07:04

I wouldn’t say excited, but I’m looking forward to seeing how he interacts with the royals, particularly Wills and Kate. I’m also looking forward to seeing how Starmer navigates the press conference.

Mb76 · 16/09/2025 07:04

OP are you serious? Excited? I’m disgusted!! 🤢 I will be out there protesting, he does not deserve the lavish treatment he will be receiving.
Red Arrows are totally over the top.

Nitgel · 16/09/2025 07:07

I quite like seeing different planes and helicopters about. Saw a Canadian airforce one yesterday. Assume this is for the visit as it originated in Troon

I do find Trump quite entertaining in a strange way. He makes me laugh. So there's that.

Dolphinnoises · 16/09/2025 07:08

“Excited for”? It’s the Americans on here again. I wonder if there’s a US equivalent of the Daily Mail where they are scraping our replies for news fodder?

Excited is quite a different word in US English I think, OP. It’s more like mildly diverted, whereas for us Brits it’s something which potentially could involve jumping up and down with a balloon. Which I won’t be doing. I’ll just be glad to get it over with. As will, I suspect, the King.

PauseOMen · 16/09/2025 07:09

Hopefully no one will turn up to see the orange rapist. Who wants to cheer that corrupt bastard?!

Itsnottheheatitsthehumidity · 16/09/2025 07:11

I work near the American Embassy, but I don’t expect it will impact me much. During his first term as President, Trump said how much he hated the location. Vauxhall is….mostly high rise flats and public transport, and the river. Not pretty like it’s previous location.

vodkaredbullgirl · 16/09/2025 07:11

Couldn't care less.

HighLadyofTheNightCourt · 16/09/2025 07:12

I’m usually very supportive of people’s right to their own political beliefs but this goes beyond politics.
As an individual he’s a disgrace and I struggle to understand why anyone would be excited about his visit.

Shr3dding · 16/09/2025 07:13

Surely @Juliette96 is writing tongue in cheek, no Brits would be excited aboutt this would they? I'm guessing most people, if they know about it, dont particularly care

Newsenmum · 16/09/2025 07:14

I will be keeping my children well away

PinkyFlamingo · 16/09/2025 07:17

Times like this I remember the late Scottish comedian Janet Godley...

Yip and we have enough of those types already we don't need another one visiting.

Are you excited for President Donald Trump’s forthcoming state visit to the UK?
spirallingcauldroun · 16/09/2025 07:19

excited? nah. excited to see the back of him once he leaves? yep. odious excuse for a human.

PermanentTemporary · 16/09/2025 07:21

Oh God it’s arrived. I’ll be avoiding the news. I don’t blame those who had to invite him but imagine having to talk to them. When is it over?

JaneyGodleyWasRight · 16/09/2025 07:22

Appalled that this country has invited a paedophile warmonger.

spirallingcauldroun · 16/09/2025 07:24

If I'm "looking forward" to anything about it, it's the trolling that we are so good at as a nation.
