To think Keir Starmer is looking more ridiculous by the day

I've just seen an interview with Keir Starmer talking in riddles. If he knew then what he knew now then this mess wouldn't have happened. Three hour debate about it tomorrow in Parliament. Surely his time is up. But if a lefty takes over it might be worse.

Don't disagree with you at all. Embarrassing for the British people.

Whammyyammy · 15/09/2025 17:44

He is a total embarrassment to our country, spineless and clueless leader that does not put his citizens first.
Sadly his behaviour will hand the country over to farage.

RuttleTuttle · 15/09/2025 17:46

He lied to the left of Labour in order to get in as leader. And now he has shown himself to be shifty and spineless in office.

NebulousWhistler · 15/09/2025 17:49

He’s an absolutely buffoon. (I had typed the word fuckwit but decided buffoon was more appropriate. Moron could also work.

Toseland · 15/09/2025 17:49

He'd better watch out; Trump is coming!

siliconcover · 15/09/2025 17:55

I assume KS knew PM was very pally with DT. Given how mercurial DT is, & how much we benefit from being 'let off' the worst of the tarrifs, it was a case of hold your nose & appoint him. How much else KS knew is debatable. Now however it's backfired spectacularly & may even affect KS position

He's looking more foolish or more dishonest, depending on your politics.

Peter Mandolson has been fired for dishonesty how many times? Four? Ever since he was caught lying on his mortgage application 25 years ago, he been known to be a liability. He's a financial wannabe, which makes him open to manipulation, and wholly unsuitable to be in govt in any role, in my opinion.

The thought of him representing the UK in America makes me cringe.

In what parallel universe did Starmer ever think he was an appropriate choice. Terrible judgement at the very least.

He was very good at his job apparently. Well I suppose being a duplicitous liar wouldn't be on his CV. You couldn't make it up. All about money and cosying up to rich folk.

He is much better than recent Tory leaders, which is a plus. However, he does not seem to 'do politics', perhaps because of his background as a chief executive of sorts.

I don't expect him to be Labour leader and Prime Minister by the time of the next general election.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 15/09/2025 18:18

I think he was right to appoint Mandelson.

You fight fire with fire.

jeremyclarksonsthirdnipple · 15/09/2025 18:27

He is a pathetic disgrace.

BallerinaRadio · 15/09/2025 18:28

I think after the the last 14 years we've endured he can have a bit more time

How?

Sodukuchess · 15/09/2025 18:30

You lost me at 'a lefty'.

Do we have 'a righty' alternative?

x2boys · 15/09/2025 18:31

Agree it doesn't help that both He and Angela Rayner ,were so sanctimonious when they were in opposition
I think he's going to have to resign as PM in the not to distant future.

How?

Didn't illegally prorogue parliament-Johnson
Didn't produce a budget that destroyed the nations finances-Truss
Brexit-Cameron

I could go on

Starmer/Reeves are doing their own damage to the economy.

People voted for Brexit. How was it Cameron's fault? He campaigned for Remain.

Proroguing Parliament did no harm.

Did no harm? Lying in the houses of Parliament and to the queen. Undermining democracy? Did no harm

Give over

He's just doing what his handlers are telling him to do.

Yes all the sanctimony and sneering hasn’t helped. Yanbu op

Agree with this. Who do you send to negotiate with Trump? Not a good, straight down the line guy…

Ha ha. Ask the average person in the street how much harm illegally proroguing parliament did. Watch the blank faces.

That'll take me a while to explain. I'll come back to this after dinner. The bullshit that it wasn't harmful need to be challenged.
