To sue the company who makes peppa pig

On Friday, my 10-year-old son jumped in a muddy puddle and got mud in my eye, all over his school uniform, all over the car, and all over the porch. He also threw his 23-year-old sibling’s CV out of the window as a paper airplane, which he had made a long time ago, causing delays in their job search. He has been saying that I have a big tummy, which has hurt my feelings, and was refusing to get out of the car after we drove home from school. Most times when I ask why he does these things, he says things like "Peppa Pig does it," "Peppa Pig did it," "George did it," or "George Pig does it." I have noticed that he has been displaying all this behavior after watching Peppa Pig.

I have to say I have always detested peppa pig. Never let my kids watch it. They watched curious George, blaze, Mike the knight and number blocks. There are plenty of other options.

What a way to raise mysoginists. Only male characters are worth watching.

He's 10.
Time for a new programme.
Maybe something educational like Blue Peter or Horrible Histories.

Horrible histories is also hilarious

ILovedThe90s · 15/09/2025 21:28

Switch him straight from Peppa Pig to watching the film Coraline. Every time he blames George Pig, tell him the Other Mother is listening, and she doesn’t put up with muddy puddles, flying CVs or cheek about tummies. The Other Mother is very big on good manners and tidy porches, and if he carries on, she’ll be popping round with her sewing kit to offer him a nice set of button eyes...

🤣🙄. Of course. My house is filled with misogynistic people. Why do people online insist in reducing a whole three dimensional individual based on a post of less than 50 words.

Nextdoormat · 15/09/2025 21:29

I love Peppa and Mummy pig they always put Daddy pig in his place😂

Booksaresick · 15/09/2025 21:32

The number of people who don’t realise that the OP isn’t serious is shocking. Quite worrying frankly.

RazorsAtDawn · 15/09/2025 21:33

I banned Peppa Pig in my house when my *then two year old started copying George saying 'no!' Bloody awful and uneducational programme. Mind you, I grew up with Looney Tunes and I turned out fairly normal.

Welshmonster · 15/09/2025 21:37

Assuming this is a joke or you are just a rubbish parent!

Scottsy200 · 15/09/2025 21:37

10 and watching Peppa Pig 🤣🤣🤣 how often does he get the p!ss taken out of him at school on a daily basis?

Children and their families doing something as thrilling as jumping in a puddle or finding a spider - or cars, numbers and a knight given missions to complete - I'd definitely go for the more interesting stories. Well, were it not for stuff like Bagpuss, Fingermouse, Ivor the Engine, the Wombles, Flumps, Watoo-watoo, Ulysses 31, Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds, the Mysterious Cities of Gold, Round the World with Willy Fog and all the other weird and wonderful children's TV of the 70s and 80s, along with Looney Tunes (especially Tom & Jerry/Bugs Bunny, particularly the musical ones and Roadrunner - which was a masterclass in comic timing).

Is this a joke? Why is your ten year old watching a toddler programme? Do some parenting. Switch it off or put something more age appropriate on.

Jesus.

of course it’s not serious.

I actually despair at the number of posters who’ve taken it literally. No wonder the world is the way it is - do they just believe everything on social media?

I'll join you with a retrospective lawsuit for Horrid Fckng Henry

Then why waste our time putting it on then? I despair at people who’ve got nothing better to do.

Cry Baby Crying GIF by Peppa Pig

Yes or you’re going to end up like George

Lauzg90 · 15/09/2025 21:46

And here I am telling my 5 year old she’s too old for Peppa 😂

Nooo !
Never too old.
I read that the news of Mummy and Daddy pig having a new baby earlier this year was huge excitement for older teenage girls.
They were all very excited by it all.
(Hmmm......is this going to cause the return of the teen mums 😬)

EmeraldShamrock000 · 15/09/2025 21:53

I'm surprised a solicitor hasn't moved into Peppatown yet, they definitely need a legal Eagle in that town, it is lawless.
Mr & Mrs legal Eagle, Emily and Edward. 🦅

Absentosaur · 15/09/2025 21:53

Christ don’t let him watch Tom and Jerry. Although winning those 2 lawsuits would set you up for life.. YADNBU. Let us know how you get on .. 🐷

I know some teachers who would like to sue for Grange Hill.

Never, my 16 y.o DD still enjoys peppa.
My niece is a garda (police) she watches peppa after her shift.
The cheeky little pig cheers you up.

To be fair this was part of the issue!
The 5 year old had outgrown Peppa but she we have a 2 year old who is obsessed. So we took them both to the cinema to see Evie Pig, took them to Peppa Pig world to meet her and purchased the requested Evie toys 😂.
Basically I have encouraged this issue 😂. So I can’t really complain! Just wouldn’t want her friends to think she is babyish.
Her main interest is definitely just with Evie though!

wreckingmybread · 15/09/2025 22:16

I had to move back to Ireland with my son when he was 2 and told him that Peppa Pig only worked on our London TV 😂 likewise Bing. He can never know.

Jk987 · 15/09/2025 22:20

😂 at the people who think this is serious!

Spookyspaghetti · 15/09/2025 22:28
  1. Children jumped in puddles before Peppa Pig.
  2. Have a long hard think about why a strong, confident, mildly cheeky female pig worries you but similar portrayals of male characters like Bing, RaRa, and so on are accepted as how boisterous male toddlers should be. It’s internalised misogyny.
  3. If you don’t like something your child is doing you explain that it’s not something you do in your house regardless of if they saw it on tv. You are the parent.
  4. Peppa Pig contains some brilliant observational comedy about British family life.
Julimia · 16/09/2025 08:50
