To sue the company who makes peppa pig

On Friday, my 10-year-old son jumped in a muddy puddle and got mud in my eye, all over his school uniform, all over the car, and all over the porch. He also threw his 23-year-old sibling’s CV out of the window as a paper airplane, which he had made a long time ago, causing delays in their job search. He has been saying that I have a big tummy, which has hurt my feelings, and was refusing to get out of the car after we drove home from school. Most times when I ask why he does these things, he says things like "Peppa Pig does it," "Peppa Pig did it," "George did it," or "George Pig does it." I have noticed that he has been displaying all this behavior after watching Peppa Pig.

I actually did an essay on Peppa pig a few years ago, for a degree. Honestly I did. The topic was something to do with how society's attitude towards young children and how they are represented in the arts and media shifted from children being passive and submissive, to agentic. I used peppa as an example, I had to put in quotes from various episodes to prove my point. I got a high grade actually. It was the most fun I've ever had researching.

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 15/09/2025 15:49

I do think you need to explain that peppa pig is about three years old

REP22 · 15/09/2025 15:51

That Gangsta Granny needs to examine her conscience too.

Tablesandchairs23 · 15/09/2025 15:51

If your son at 10 is watching peppa pig and behaving like that. You need to take him to the doctors he may have additional needs.

bridgetreilly · 15/09/2025 15:52

FFS, you should have been pointing out years ago (a) how naughty she is and (b) how she’s only funny for little kids, not big grown up boys who know better.

Obeseandashamed · 15/09/2025 15:52

It’s a good job he didn’t grow up watching Dennis the menace 🤣

Let's do a joint suing. Strength in numbers

My husband now won't stop going round telling people he's "a bit of an expert" every time anyone needs a little assistance with something. Yet it always turns out he's not actually an expert at all, he knows sweet fuck all about it and he makes himself look a right bellend. The secondhand embarrassment is killing me. He's bringing shame to the family name!

Edited

This is hilarious! 🤣🤣🤣

I suddenly fancy a bacon sandwich.

Why are so many people taking the thread seriously?

anyolddinosaur · 15/09/2025 16:15

I thought school holidays were over?

Skybluepinky · 15/09/2025 16:17

You reap what you sow your parenting skills are lacking so your child has no respect book yourself onto parenting classes.

tachetastic · 15/09/2025 16:25

My DS (now 17) will still only be friends with anthropomorphic animals and insists on going to sixth form on the Ninky Nonk which takes hours as you never know which route it is going to take.

Maybe we could all launch a class action (or stop midweek drinking)?

She can’t………too busy watching Peppa Pig 🤣🤣

LeaAndDer · 15/09/2025 16:30

Does your tv not have an off button?

TimeForATerf · 15/09/2025 16:37

I think kids TV should be banned, we should collectively sue all production companies.

I have started talking to DGD age 10 months in Teletubby language, "eh o" "big hug" "time for tubby bye bye" - I did exactly the same 28 years ago with DD.

FML.

I don't think the kids of the 70s could cope either....
That film traumatised everyone !

Nah, only the ones who didn't appreciate Greek sagas or mythology. Or birds telling bunnies to piss off.

Elsvieta · 15/09/2025 16:47

People still send paper CVs?

Cyclebabble · 15/09/2025 16:50

I watched road runner and Tom and Jerry. To date I have never blown anyone up with TNT or whacked anyone over the head with a frying pan, though in the latter case I have come close on a number of occasions.

Needmorelego · 15/09/2025 14:55

As established upthread there's two of them.
Mrs Rabbit and Miss Rabbit. They're sisters.
Mrs Rabbit has the babies, Miss Rabbit has the jobs.
Although didn't they swap once for reasons I can't remember.

Miss rabbit tripped over a toy and hurt her ankle so mummy rabbit rallied the troops and they all tried (and failed) to do all of miss rabbits jobs lol

Lolabear38 · 15/09/2025 16:54

@po8jte i’m in - class action lawsuit?

Also, some people need to lighten up 😂

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 15/09/2025 14:45

He'd be standing for Reform!

😆😆😆

C95 · 15/09/2025 17:08

Dear god. Mumnset 2025. You have to put lighthearted in the title!!

For what it's worth OP my mum tried to sue Bill and Ben for my constant use of the word "flobbadob" back in the 60's. She was unsuccessful!

Flobbadob to all the mumnsetters who didn't realise it was a joke and just want to get angry!!

YouHaveAnArse · 15/09/2025 17:20

When I was 10 I was watching Red Dwarf, Bottom and The Fast Show, not programmes for toddlers, but OK.

HellsBellsAndCatsWhiskers · 15/09/2025 17:24

Peppa pig is the bane of my life. We could club together with other peppaphobes and get a class action lawsuit on the go!
