Can’t find a name for my little boy?

Hello,

so I’m pregnant, 7 months and really really struggling to find a name. I have a boy already, and his name is as easy peasy for me to choose - I knew straight away, even before I was pregnant.

since finding out I’m having another boy, I’ve been struggling to think of a name. I have options…. But just don’t love any of them. I feel really guilty about it, feel bad that I can’t think of a name for him, can’t connect with him on that level? Maybe I’m over thinking it but I truly feel like a crappy mum, I should “know” his name.

My husband like Huxley… I thought it was okay, and would’ve happily have gone with it for him but his cousin has now called their baby Huxley. So that’s that. Won’t use it.

we both like Rudy, but i don’t LOVE it, it’s okay but doesn’t feel like that’s his name.

we like cassian, again, doesn’t move me to tears but it’s fine 🤣

these are the other options.

Oswin
Jago
Magnus
Neo
Roux
Marcel
Seb

Think Roux is too close to the making of a sauce and also he’ll be questioned on how to spell it.

love Magnus, always have, he’d be called Maggie? I don’t know. People love a nickname.

neo.. also like it but will people think I’ve named him after Neyo - the singer.

anyway, it’s a big deal naming a baby. I want something easy to say and spell, not tooo common.

My son is: Saxon
I love it so much, just looking for something to go with it.

help and please be nice….

Please choose Arlowe🤣 it's the name i wanted to use but we were beaten to it by my friends!!! It is "olde" English name but very unique and of the same time period as Saxon.

Lilyhatesjaz · 13/09/2025 17:08

I was going to say Roman, makes me think of a lovely little boy we had at nursery. Or maybe a really old name like Harold or Edmund

TATT2 · 13/09/2025 17:10

I don't like those 😳
I love Reuben, but wasn't allowed.

Teajenny7 · 13/09/2025 17:11

I like Magnus. I have never known it to be shorten to Maggie.

MonsterasEverywhere · 13/09/2025 17:13

"neo.. also like it but will people think I’ve named him after Neyo - the singer."

No idea who the singer is but when thinking of Neo, I think of The Matrix.

Northerngirl821 · 13/09/2025 17:13

Norman?
Viking?

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 13/09/2025 17:14

If you wanted Huxley but can’t use it my mind automatically goes to Aldous.

That’s who my husband was naming him after :) x

If you can't have Huxley, what about Henley? Or Henry.

EasySqueezy · 13/09/2025 17:31

Wolf

I have a Magnus. He doesn’t get called Maggie! It’s a brilliant name (albeit I’m biased).

Snorlaxo · 13/09/2025 17:33

I would assume Neo was Keanu Reeve’s character in The Matrix rather than Ne-yo

Love! We actually have Cassius on the list too…. X

I LOVE caspar.

I liked the nickname Cass so tried to convince my OH with cassius, caspar, caspian... All to no avail 😭.

We went with Ezra in the end which I do love.

How about Acer, Ace for short?

What made you choose saxon? I think it would help know what you like about it to find other names you might connect with.

Also have you tried chat gpt 😂 I put my name list in and asked for suggestions and it helped because I could pinpoint specific things I liked such as nicknames ending In the ee sound and I didnt want a link with nature. It did help with ideas.

Jago is a legitimate Cornish name.

Koolandorthegang · 13/09/2025 17:37

I like your style of names!

I met a little Rudy. Thought it was a great name and a bold choice. How about:

Beau
Aubrey
Gabriel (Gabe)
Perry
Vaughan
Jesse
Gene
Leon

Ionlymakejokestodistractmyself · 13/09/2025 17:39

Not Neo, no.

From your list I like Jago. I also like Rudy

How about any of these:

Tor or Torin (a Norse name like Saxon)
Gus
Cassian
Kit
Fox

Ionlymakejokestodistractmyself · 13/09/2025 17:40

Also I know a Magnus and he is usually called Mag or Mags for short.

PrincessofEuphrania · 13/09/2025 17:41

Out of all the suggestions I think Finn goes really well with Saxon.

Why are you assuming the OP is middle class?

Magnus is an excellent name. I know a Saxon with a brother Axel.
