Can I see your kitchen?

I am looking to redecorate, my kitchen is very tired. I want something neutral enough or possibly light green. Anyone want to show me their kitchens for ideas? im really bad at this and find googling images just gives me perfect instagram kitchens. Thank you

Here's mine - needs updating...

There is so much storage and I have as much clutter as I can cope with. If it’s clean it goes away, if it’s dirty it’s in the dishwasher. Mess just stresses me out and it’s actually really easy. I feel very lucky.

OP 'I don't want to see perfect Instagram kitchens'. Cue a stream of perfect, Instagram-worthy kitchens. 😂

Which is not to say they aren't beautiful ...

I had a new kitchen recently and chose sage green cupboards with brushed gold handles and love them! I've not had it painted yet and can't decide what colour. I had a pantry cupboard fitted, and it has been a Godsend! It frees so much room up in the other cupboards. It has lots of wire shelves for tins and a taller one at the bottom for cereal. The other thing I'm glad I went for is a spray tap with a detachable hose so I can spray off plates, etc., before they go in the dishwasher.

I had light grey and white worktops, which look lovely with the green, but unfortunately, they show up every little mark, and I'm forever wiping them down.

I'd advise against a stainless steel hob/extractor fan, etc., if possible. Also, the cupboards with a slight sheen on them or gloss ones look lovely but show up every fingerprint and mark.

Plug sockets with USB chargers built in are helpful.

I got a built-in fridge freezer and requested to the kitchen designer for it to be bigger than my last (freestanding) one. It is taller but so narrow and totally unsuitable as a family fridge.

So very many of these pictures show very clearly that money does not equal taste 😂

Oh my - why is everyone’s kitchen so amazing??!!

Where are all the shitty kitchens with the broken cabinets (kids swinging off them) and the crumbs from the teenagers? Where is all the clutter and random piles of things?

I am almost tempted to post to show how the ‘other half’ live, but now I am going to tidy instead.

We moved the countertop appliances like microwave, electric kettle, coffee maker and toaster oven into the next room on the table, along with some bagels, tea sugar. We have a mini fridge in the laundryroom so we put cold stuff in there for a couple of days.

By the way - this is just me being jealous.

Not yet perfect, but we are working on it. We prefer the lived in look and feel tbh.

I have a thread on here somewhere showing the whole project from scratch. We bought a house two years ago that needed to be renovated from top to bottom. We also added a modular extension and built an annexe.

It’s still a work in progress. We still don’t have a painted ceiling or flooring down but hopefully this month!!

This is where we started and how far we’ve got. I don’t have any tidy photos, so that will please PP 😂😂 You can even see boxes of building supplies lying around 🫣 We still haven’t unpacked other than the kids’ rooms. There are boxes bloody everywhere.

We were determined to have a light, sage green colour but at the very last minute swapped to dark blue - no idea why but I love it! We are south-facing so it’s really light and can take the darker colours.

I'm only browsing this thread to feed my kitchen envy 😂 Now I feel so hard done by, I'm going to cheer myself up by copying @Starling7 and posting my AI generated kitchen. I obviously have an AI cleaner to keep it looking nice!

This is mine after we had just had all the doors replaced, new tiles and a general freshen up. The colour is French Grey I think but it definitely has a green hue. I bloody love it. We have a dining table the other side of the breakfast bar. And the counter tops are much more cluttered now 😂

Just had mine done recently - this is just before it has the finishing touches done to it (countertops being oiled, etc). On the other side of the room is a dining table, sofa, and French windows out to the garden. I love how much storage I have and the tiles - and finally having a dishwasher! 🙌
