Can I see your kitchen?

I am looking to redecorate, my kitchen is very tired. I want something neutral enough or possibly light green. Anyone want to show me their kitchens for ideas? im really bad at this and find googling images just gives me perfect instagram kitchens. Thank you

I love seeing all these beautiful kitchens! Aren't we all a stylish bunch! Here's mine....

Fellow jigsaw fan here. I have that exact cookbook stand (in cream) and will be using it for my box lid from now on. What a great idea Grin

Brilliant glow up @JungAtHeart! We did similar when we'd just moved in last year. It's certainly worth it, however temporary, imo.
And today - exactly 12 months on from completion on the cottage purchase - the 40+ year old boiler has finally come out and we're a step closer to getting the new oven into the relocated kitchen!

Edited

It’s definitely worth it 😂 I was so depressed in the kitchen I inherited. It was like being inside a daily cheap wood coffin 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ our inspiration was Fortnum and Mason Ice Cream parlour. A happy place for my DDs and I 😊 congratulations ok your purchase and your new boiler 😂

@JungAtHeartI ADORE your pan rack!

@LibertyLily your kitchen is a delight! Where did you buy the wonderful seed head material?

Thank you @Gatekeeper! It's a Voyage Maison fabric called Sutami. We bought it about eight years ago for tall windows at a previous house and I've been gradually cutting it down into smaller and even smaller pieces! I'm not sure if it's still available though.....

My glow up 😂 I’m working up to the day where it’s a gut renovation and complete redesign …

That’s an amazing glow up!

Here's mine OP. After 41 years with my DH, in three houses, I finally got my first ever new kitchen three years ago (it'll probably be my last too!) Mine's a Burbidge kitchen in F&B Putty and Old Navy, with F&B Stiffkey Blue on the opposite end wall (I didn't want to cram in an island in my relatively small kitchen - 15.5ft x 17ft - but I liked the idea of having an accent colour so achieved it on the "feature" hob wall with the base units). I would have liked all navy, but thought it might be too dark in our West-facing kitchen. No tiling anywhere so no grout to go grotty over time. The hob splash-back is easy-clean (and it really is!) toughened mirror which I bought online from a Belfast company at a keen price, and the flooring is Amtico which I bought online at half the price of our local retailer. If you want these online retailers' details OP, DM me and I'll send you the links. 😃Good luck with your new kitchen - the pale, soft greens that have been posted are beautiful!

Love the curved edge

PapardelleFitzgerald · 17/09/2025 22:04

@AngelicKaty your kitchen is so clearly a labour of love, those decades of patient planning have made for a beautiful room. You were right to forego the island- your kitchen is a perfectly good size but you would have been forever navigating around an island and it would have made it seem cramped. All very lovely- hope it gives you years of pleasure.

AngelicKaty · 17/09/2025 22:20

@PapardelleFitzgerald Thank you, that's really kind of you. 🤗

SaveMeNow2024 · 17/09/2025 23:08

Here's mine. The engineered wooden floor is new, and we now have lights in the cupboards at the back so it actually looks a lot lighter/better. Need to take updated photos!

Beautiful 😍. Do you have a link for the splashback please? Thanks.

Thank you, that's really kind of you. 🤗 Here's the link: https://www.diysplashbacks.co.uk/glass-splashbacks-ni They're based in Belfast NI, but it was couriered to me, very well packed, and arrived safely. It was so easy to install too (we used the adhesive they supplied with it) - if my DH and I can manage it anyone can! 😂 (I subsequently discovered we had a supplier close to us when I wanted a couple of pieces of coloured splashback for the cloakroom, but they were SOoooooo much more expensive than this company.)

Ooh, that's rather lovely. 😍I love kitchens with real chimneys that have been incorporated into the design to create a focal point - gorgeous! (I had to "fake" mine. 😂)

Well, my DH certainly won't even be allowed anywhere near it during installation, I'm the DIY'er 😅.

Awh thank you 🙏🏻 it’s from Amazon. I literally had nowhere for to store pots and pans. It works well.

Treesandsheepeverywhere · 20/09/2025 13:40

Love your tiles @DumbleDawn .

@WeWillLookBack and others with no tiles, guess the only option is gloss paint?

@ShiningforLeeBertie seems you've foregone the cooker splashback too, do you find it a faff 're cleaning?

Thanks.

I was very unsure - husbands idea to not have tiles We agreed we would try it, and could have tiles fitted later if it wasn't working. Worktops are quartz - with a deep upstand and I used kitchen paint. 3 years later - still looks perfect. Walls wipe off easily.

We had ours done in Tadelakt, which has been extremely durable. 5 years and lots of cooking so far

Wow, they've held up well, 3 years! Thank you. I've been going round and round 're tiles and different splashbacks but nothing ticking all the boxes.
The glass splashbacks look good, but not sure would suit an old cottage.
Almost settled on the brass ones but again, still unsure.
Helpful to hear it's turned out well with nothing.

Did they send someone to fit or have to find your own?
Got lost in the beautiful kitchens, stunning.

In our last kitchen (pics upthread), we had a wallpaper 'splash back' with tempered glass over...and that was in a 400 year old house. We're not into anything too contemporary and this worked really well, imo. Obviously you could use any wallpaper design of the zillions available 😉

It's essentially a kind of waterproof plaster, so they send someone. It took (I think) about two days for them to do the whole wall as there are several steps. They matched the colour to the wall paint in the rest of the room.

Have had another look and it suits well.
I'm just second guessing so much as it's getting closer to it beong done.
One moment I feel I've landed then I'm all over again.

Thank you, sounds good. Was panicking as it said it takes a while to cure. Shall have a think.
