Ours is cream walls and sage cupboards, but could do with a quick wipe.

It is bespoke, hand crafted and we had numerous meetings with the designer to ensure that it meets the needs of our family.

It really is the beating heart of our home ❤️

I chose sage green at the last minute - really glad I did. And pan drawers - best thing, better than lots of cupboards.

Top tip: when you take the dresser out to redo the floors, remember it exists before you mark up where the lights should go. Nothing says ‘I planned this’ quite like sheepishly calling the electricians back out because you forgot the dresser was coming back… and then confidently telling everyone four lights was always the vision.

Ours is very white! The cupboards are a buff finish so aren't glossy or matte. I do have to wipe them down regularly still. My advice is pan cupboards, they are amazing.

This thread is lovely and reminds me to buy more flowers for my kitchen 💐

Lancasterel · 13/09/2025 07:21

Our kitchen in our first house was olive green and ivory and I loved it. Currently have a few walls in our kitchen diner in Dulux Nordic Spa which I also love.

So very many of these pictures show very clearly that money does not equal taste 😂

I agree 🤣

I have a thread on here somewhere showing the whole project from scratch. We bought a house two years ago that needed to be renovated from top to bottom. We also added a modular extension and built an annexe.

It’s still a work in progress. We still don’t have a painted ceiling or flooring down but hopefully this month!!

This is where we started and how far we’ve got. I don’t have any tidy photos, so that will please PP 😂😂 You can even see boxes of building supplies lying around 🫣 We still haven’t unpacked other than the kids’ rooms. There are boxes bloody everywhere.

We were determined to have a light, sage green colour but at the very last minute swapped to dark blue - no idea why but I love it! We are south-facing so it’s really light and can take the darker colours.

This looks amazing. We have the same colour kitchen. Can I ask where is your splashback from? Thankyou

Mine is green and simple, we have limited space but also a baby so added a table in the middle of the room, so we can all eat together. The bannister/posts are now also sage green but haven't got a photo of this.

Nice kitchen, I especially like the cat on top of the cupboard!

I had a cat that used to do exactly that. (I was amazed he could get up there, the huge bugger weighed 17lbs and it sounded like someone had dropped a sack of cement onto the floor when he jumped down.)

Do you feel better @RoseAlone?…judging someone’s years of saving and planning as if it’s just money talking….

Recently had mine done in pale yellow and green

This is my favourite, it's not grey!
It's so bright and cheerful with the yellow and green and I love the wallpaper.
Just 💕

Love love love this one. 10/10

jeaux90 · 13/09/2025 08:10

OP I’ll save you some time and money. DIY kitchens are the best quality and cheapest of all the mainstream suppliers. You need to hire a joiner to put it in if you don’t have the skills. Go for the thicker doors, they give a better sense of quality. (Don’t go for 18mm go for the 22mm)

What’s an Edinburgh press?

Sorry - an Edinburgh press is a shallow recessed cupboard with shelves usually either side of a fireplace and built to look like a doorway. Many Victorian tenement flats and other Victorian buildings have them. Originally they would have a door that looks like the other doors in the flat, and that's what we have in our kitchen. The one in our sitting room had had the door removed and we use it as bookshelves .
.

stayathomegardener · 13/09/2025 08:15

@HairyToitygiven the latest posts hating on perfect kitchens I probably should clarify we purchased through London based Kitchen Exchange in 2016.
A developer in Hampstead Heath put this £100k kitchen in a house which sold for 6 million, the American buyers purchased for the location not the property so immediately and remotely applied to demolish.

It’s by Poggenpohl with 7 Gaggenau appliances still with their 5 year warranty, we only paid £25k for it and obviously had to carefully remove it from London and drive it home to Cheshire in numerous trips.

I made the whole thing to scale in cardboard to check it would work first, the fitting isn’t perfect as we had to flip the whole thing left to right to accommodate our layout and then source or make different end panels to finish.

Even though I didn’t have the luxury of choosing or designing it for our needs I still appreciate the beautiful quality every day and being so large it’s relatively easy to keep tidy.

This is mine, walls not painted yet... Was put in as part of an extension about four months ago and I absolutely love it! Was months and months of agonising on design after always having small kitchens. It's Howdens with compact laminate worktops.

This is my very small Victorian terrace kitchen a couple of years ago when it was new.
Very busy today cleaning the grout between the floor tiles as they are no longer cream! Lesson learnt

This is wonderful!
